Ill be at HV tomorrow, wearing the grey on deck and black pants before I teach my lesson. I even have a purple helmet with a ns sticker on it. Call me out if ya wanna take some laps
 
I'm coming out to HV this weekend with a few friends. Is there a decent jump line or at least some type of flow to the park?
 
not really. The jumps are like death. rail park is fun to hike for a few hours and since you will be with friends it will be a fun time.
 
So why did you decide to come to holiday valley? !?!? Those parks do not compare! Bristol has far more of a hill to work with though.
 
Went to Peek n Peek this weekend. They defiantly know what they are doing. Two sick parks with good flow.

Does it piss anyone else off that Holiday has the most capital at their disposal than any other resort within a few hundred miles and they also happen to have on of the shittiest parks in the area?

Don't get me wrong they make some nice features, but putting a park on Foxfire and starting it half way down the run is fucking stupid. There is very little flow in foxfire and it is boring. The run is great if you are you like comp runs but the fun factor is garbage. It really kills the vibe in the park I think. They need to put the park on a longer trail.
 
Yea my home mountain is Peek and if im in the mood to just ride park, i wouldnt even think about going to holiday. I hate their parks.
 
Peak n Peek also has such a flowy park, i was there on the 16th, alot of fun, good vibes, nice park
 
I work at PK in the terrain parks and they are definitively very nice this year. Awesome flow and our jumps are not that big but honestly we have like 400 vertical. What more do you want out of us. There is a 35-40 pushed right now and it is prime.
 
there is currently only one jump worth hitting though. The first landing is flat as a pancake. Zero progression in the parks too. Nothing in between the mini jump in the rail park and the medium-big jump on foxfire.
 
Peeks small jumps are for you then. Don't get me wrong peek your set-up is deff sick. Just more into jumps instead of jibs i guess.
 
I agree. There is a major difference between a good jump and a big jump. Just because a jump is big doesn't mean that it is good, as proven by holiday valleys strange setup this year. They definitely made it just for the comps.
 
I have never liked the flow in the Valley's park and it seems every time I go there people feel as if they are training for the X-Games.
 
i think holiday's park is pretty interesting this year, gotta hand it to em for them changing it all the time with the lack of snow we have
 
If you think Peeks jumps are not big enough, some was inches away from a triple backside rodeo 12 yesterday. I witnessed it. /claim
 


Some good tree skiing this weekend. Hoping we can build on this sometimes thin but mostly solid base.

how are HV and KB? i'm planning on going to UB next year and from what i've heard these are the mountains that are most accessible. i currently ride the catskills so anything better than them would be awesome.
 
I finally got a chance to watch that video, at least the part where he skis through the park at the start. After seeing that, I do not even know how anyone on here could say they like HV park more than tPKP You get so many more hits and two well made parks to choose from. Come on, you've gotta be nuts.

Looks awesome. My buds and I will likely be there tomorrow, Saturday. We will be the older guys worrying about our back aches and talking about the original Salomon 1080 ski and practicing going switch and spinning. My friend is going to grind a box, too.

PknP was awesome last Saturday. Great times were had by my friends and I. I also had a couple of funny falls. The jumps in the larger park were great too, really liked the last two. I was never able to grease the s box! I fail! Here's a quick shot.

 
Peek just got done redoing there entire park, heading up sunday to see whats up over there. By the way, i'm in need of skiers to film next season. I will have a t2i with a tokina 11-16, if any of you guys want to get shots in next year hit me up!
 
kb closed....HV park is in total disrepair. There might be a couple rails still worth hitting but for the most part its done. Depressing.
 
Last weekend to ski park at peek n peak saturday! (kinda) Boxzilla, fires, prizes, fun stuff and more! Be there!
 
I was at HV this past sunday, they had plowed a bunch of snow down yodeler to make the Ice Bar mardi gras thing. Definitely was enough snow to build the quarter, so I imagine it will still go down.
 
the valley did put a little work into the park last night. There were at least a few things to hit this afternoon.
 
The snow bar is. The smallest I have ever seen it. I am not going to hold my breath for the quarter pipe until I see something official.

Rumor is that hv is closing next Wednesday as well. Has to be an historically early closing.
 
i skied hv on thursday and yesterday and it was a shit show. everything was either crooked or knocked over, and the jumps had no landings, it was basically just a huge kicker to almost flat ice.

but i guess it was not bad since it was like 20C outside and not much else was open.
 
so theyre doing a time-lapse of the 9 month construction of the new chalet. pretty sweet.

Wow this year sounded rough... but man i miss good old wny. If anyones got some ski porn from the year, drop it i wanna see whats good at home!
 
Did anybody hike hv today? If so, do you think the snow will hold up till tomorrow? Saw some people shredding this morning on yodeler. Website says they got 15+
