JJ 2.0 was about 4 years old now so it was time for a revamp. As far as changes: decreased the taper angle and moved the widest point forward to just in front of the contact point which results in a more consistent turn initiation and less of a divey feeling in variable terrain. Allows you to ski it with more of an aggressive stance IMO. Increased the sidecut a little bit (don't worry, still on the tight side as far as pow skis go) to make it fit a little better with the ARV line and make it a little less dodgy. Added in our take on a bevelled nose which keeps a full steel wrap for durability and doesn't have an insert which makes it much lighter than another industry alternative.

Seeing as we introduced the Tracer line which will hopefully take some of the "older" crowd that currently skis the JJ, we wanted to make this one much more freestyle focused, back to what the original JJ was intended for.

So a little chargier then too with the widest point moved up? Cause that'll skip ya over shit instead of going under it? I'm drunk and trying to decipher knowledge

John kutcher posted on his insta using a tech setup with full tilts too.

Also was at an armada/4frnt demo day. Only rode the 4frnt massif and renegades as everything else was too short for a foot of fresh. New jj's look really really good, tracers look interesting too. Bummed they were all ~180cm

there was a post a few pages back that had detail. things worth noting were no more YLE for next year (bummed, one of my favorite skis), inthaynes are a cool ski, devastators are still there I think, and the kye lineup looks very sexy.

i had a feeling he was on black crow. not sure though, i think the brand would be a good fit but the shape looks way off. i've noticed his been posting way more on social media. goes to show you really need that online presence now and can't just sit back on your reputation

I made a thread about him being on Black Crow. Didn't get much attention. I have heard from numerous places that he is on Black Crow though..

Guess we will see, would be kinda cool to see a film part from him again.

The ski question is great. Black Crows would make sense since he's in Cham a lot. But if so, why hide it?

Paperwork and marketing and what not. Lots of pros picking up companies or switching companies dont announce it for a while. Just that business side of skiing
 
I rode the lift with Seth at crested butte and when I asked him about the skis he said "they're the ones I bought" hahaha he just when on to say that he can't reveal anything until everything is set in stone and all that. Business blah blah like stated above.
 
Did anyone get an inside look at the new Smith Code helmet? I'm trying to decide if the earpads can be taken out. Here is a picture of goggles under the helmet


It just looks like the whole liner has to come out according to this picture.

If that is the case, I would imagine the fit would change quite a bit. Anyone got any input?

Yeah, I / the lady has one. The whole liner can come out, would alter fit considerably. Earpads are part of liner if I remember correctly though.

Thanks for the info. so would a beanie be a suitable replacement for the liner or would it be best to leave it in, in your opinion?

I think a beanie would be fine. Helmet with liner was just too small for my head, thus the fact that the lady is using it and not me.

100% agree with the film part. he was one of the first skiers i fell in love with. still rock his signature crowbars after what must be like 8 years!!

Saga is atleast expanding which is general decent after they seemed to condense last season. Couple new jackets for mens, all new women line up, new packs and mitts. I did notice there was nothing at 20K which was gross, and the lifestyle clothing is always bland in the same color ways every year (grey, black, white). I think next season they are emphasizing a broader range of products. I have like $50 gift card to blow so ill probably grab like a hoodie or something

I would agree that not doing 20K/20K is a poor choice as far as a statement of quality, but the difference in waterproofing is not very different. I have never wet out any Polartec NeoShell stuff, and that only has a 10K waterproofing rating. You really don't experience that sort of water pressure in everyday activities, even skiing. DWR quality would probably be more important. Hope Saga continues to innovate with the women's line though, there's a pretty substantial lack of quality in that area.

Did they start out the men's line with the monarch in 20k tho? I'm not a saga historian but I believe they started out with some basic men's stuff and then branched out to better equipment. If I had to guess, I'd say they're testing the waters with the women's line to see how well it is received and maybe in the next few years we can start to see a wider variety of women's outerwear with better tech specs.

Nail on the head. Launching any new product line you want to go with what you are more sure will be accepted and then use that feedback to grow future products.

No idea haven't been able to get my hands on a zero or softgoods lookbook, even though Ive talked to a few people about it. Pisses me off.

Yeah wasnt crazy about the graphic on it for next year, Id take the zero this year tho. Love next years edollo tho, thinking about getting a pair of those or maybe arv 96s. Leaning to the dollos tho.

I don't know if you are being serious or sarcastic. But I have looked all over the internet, weird Japanese sights, their website, google, talked to reps without answer and the closest shop that carries armada is 3 hours from me and they don't have much.
