As far as I m aware, the 195 jjs do not measure true to length. the 195 is more likely a 192. But if you re 6'2", everything below 195 feels like short park sticks.

I am really happy with the 194 Devestators. If 4frnt would make a 202-205 devastator, I d buy 3... such a nice, stiff but playful ski.

Pretty sure volkl makes 196s, and the Shiro used to come in 205 or something like that. Faction makes one or two shapes in a 195+. Moment also makes a handful of shapes in that length range

192 for a phat charger? who s going to ride that? minions?

beeing tall sucks ass if you re looking for skis. 4frnt and movement are the only ones caring about us. It doesn t seem to change in the upcoming years. 190-192cm seems to be a magic barrier for current and 17/18 line ups. pussies.

Forget all of those skis and get some 198 Katanas dude !

6'2" isn't super tall dude, you're well within the bell curve. anything 180+ is fine for you. stop height bragging lol.

I'm 6'2 as well and my ak jj's are definitely around 195. I feel you on the length thing though, I rode some 184 devs and i felt like i was skiing on my tips all day. Very weird feeling, i wouldn't buy anything shorter than 190

False, different strokes for different folks... I'm 6'2" and I love skis in the 182-190 range

Faction makes big skis - they had a 203 3.0 last year (not sure about this year) and the 4.0 comes in 194, those skis are go-straight machines

lol sure

you're getting too caught up in dick measuring. if you're some 240lb 6'7" heavy weight a >200cm ski has a place in your quiver, but you're getting diminishing returns over a certain length.

This. sounds like he should head over to TGR.

Does anyone have specs on 4frnt? Msp sizing, rocker on switchblades.... anything like that? I have seen pictures but would like to know more details.

Would also like to know about the 4frnt lineup especially the inthaynes.

YLE, Gaucho are done

KYE series gets new names I can't remember and white graphics

Inthayne becomes a regular part of the line up

MSP series comes back

I believe everything else stays the same, although the devastator might have disappeared or changed, I didn't care enough to remember.

no YLE is interesting, must be something new coming down the pipeline. cool ski though, really enjoy skiing mine all over the place.

any word on a dynafit/tech binding collabo like they've been doing with tyrolia? had a rep buddy tell me about it and im not sure if I bought 100% of what he said.

YLE, INTHAYNE, Renegade, KYE 120 were all +/- 120mm.

Not many sales of ~120mm or wider skis, it doesn't make a ton of sense to continue to offer four models in this shrinking category, especially when most people are just gonna buy a Bentchetler instead.

YLEs were my favorite ski shape I have ever been on. Sad to see them go, might need to pick a pair up. Too bad I have no money.

Inthaynes would be fun to try out for sureseys

I haven't been on many pow skis myself but the YLE's surprisingly hold up great on groomers and in the cruddies as well as handle their own in deep snow. Very fun ski and I love the profile the ski has.

the Bibby topsheet looks neat! Regarding the Meridian s tips: they are asymetric? I dig that

The standard [107 underfoot] and powder version [117 underfoot] of the Meridian have asymmetric tips, much like this years Meridian. The tour version will have our standard touring tip and tail for skins. Thanks for the stoke on the Bibby graphic! It's probably my favorite so far.

faction makes a 3.0 in a 204. you should man up and buy a pair ;)

full cap construction on the frankenski? i've never liked cap construction

We're working on full capping the park lineup (frank and vice) so we can lower the price a bit, making them more accessible to skiers on a budget.

Moment has always made solid skis. stoked to hear about them

no more Bibby Tour?

Not everything is up there, I'd imagine it's still there, just a pre-hype. Last year they weren't quite done with some graphics stuff so that might be part of it, but they never have everything previewed

Yup. Everything is not on the site. Its just a preview of some models coming out.

All graphics and everything else are done and will be released in time.

What changes were made to the jj besides the tips and tails? And still offered in a 195?

Logan would definitely have the most accurate answer to this, but from all that I know it's a completely different ski. It's now the arv 116 so it' has pretty much most all the same characteristics of the rest of the arv series just in a wider shape, more rocker, the new tip and tail design as well.

If the demo pair in the shop is correct, more sidewall, longer turning radius (finally!) And still a soft flex.

Damn that kinda sucks, I'm excited for the longer turning radius though. Might be inthayne's for me next year instead of another pair of jj's. Any word on whether there will be zeros? I'm assuming the carbon will make em a little stiffer

I would assume there will be the zero collection still considering Torin has been riding what looks like the zero ar8 with a new graphic. The zero JJ isn't much stiffer. I have this years 195 zero jj and I absolutely love that ski. Ive been riding it for most of the season so far and dont feel its any stiffer then the regular JJ. I honestly dont think armada would ever get rid of the JJ ski. The legacy that ski has is insane and its a trademark ski for armada.

Super bummed K2 dropped the shreditor line and Nordica dropped the Patron. The Patron has to be my all time favorite ski for East Coast charging, super stable with a snappy turning radius.

So sad what armada did with the jj for 2018 but I guess I can't knock it till I try it. Mainly sad to see the name go and change.

Idk if armada will ever drop the jj out of the name, as it stands now its the arv jj 116. It's simply too iconic to drop in my opinion.

With that being said it's going to be weird to see the jj go through its changes, but I might have to pick up a pair and give them a try.

Did u both not read any previous posts in here? The JJ will still be available in the zero collection for next year.

Oh yeah I missed that but it will only be available in stores if they're doing what they did this year with the collection

Yep it'll be the same as they're doing this year. But honestly even if u don't have a shop near by you can always order from a shop over the phone. Or just have a homie that's close to a shop the does sell the collection get u some.

Anyone know what the new 17-18 Armada Vector Outerwear looks like?

Balfour comes back, they're replacing the sherwin with a longer, fishtail parka that looks pretty sweet, definitely more resort oriented though. They've got a "soft shell" kit for men and women that's cool, fabric doesn't have the most impressive specs though (10k/10k if I remember correctly)

Then they're doing a sweater with synth insulated sleeves which looks pretty cool, and a really puffy down parka that is supposed to be 800 full, with plenty of it, and be much less expensive than other options out there

Innnnnteresting....

The current Sherwin is my default, I've had a hard time using anything else, so it will be interesting to see that fishtail....

Yeah they called it the replacement but I think that's just because it's their C-Knit piece for 17/18. I'd say that it fills a completely different area. It looks like a well designed and comfortable resort jacket with more typical Armada park-ish styling, but won't be the 50/50 jacket that the Sherwin is.

Also for some reason they ran the drawcord across the open part of the fishtail area of the hem which looks ridiculously stupid IMO, if I had one I'd snip that the moment I got it. It's a tiny detail but drove me crazy when I saw it.
