Official Gear Rumor Thread

Head-kore[img]

Sorry about the posting coding... my bad

Also one of the pictures you can see the frame wall behind. No specs though, so thought to say if there are any changes other than graphics.

The Head Kore skis are aimed directly at the Rossignol Sin/Sky/Soul/Super 7 skis as an "easy to ski for all levels" powder ski. Think they will try to make it have more backbone for expert levels skiers like Rossignol is now trying to do as well with their HD series. Kore looks like it has just a partial twin tip at the back, more traditional boot mounting position, a more gradual rocker front tip and camber underfoot. Haven't seen a full profile pic to see the rear rocker if any. I've watched a few videos on them and looks like they are getting comments from all levels of powder skiers in the "easy to ski" and "can ski powder all day and not get tired" vibe.

Rossingnol currently outsells every company by a huge percentage with their series and I think Head wants a larger piece of the pie.

If they are anything like their insanely good Head Flight series, they might just become the new Standard in Powder/All Mountain skis.

Doubt you'll see a Head Oblivion again as I don't think it was a big seller for them. The softer flex limited it's performance on hard snow and it didn't carve or perform as well as The Caddy or the Framewall in/outside of the park. A decent all mountain ski but vastly overshadowed by their Venturi 95 model now. Not as light as the Oblivion was but much better all mountain performance and still skiable in the park.

That KORE lineup looks neat but man #tothekore is some of the cheesiest marketing ive ever seen. Ski companies make me cringe sometimes.

What are the differences between the X-Alp and MTN Lab boot? MTN lab beefier im assuming?

13777349:.[sanhedrin said:
.]Here's the new X-Alp:

It is not intended to be an alpine boot at all, whereas the MTN Lab absolutely can be.

looks like the x-alp will be a homogenous product with atomics backland touring boot. I hope they fit differently, so they can cover more market with just two boots...

Neither of the two MTN boots have a wide-ish last being 98mm and no shell moldability. The new X-Alp looks almost identical to the Arcteryx Procline from last season (which makes sense - same parent company). That boot was also very narrow. Lastly it would appear that Salomon is moving to a two year product cycle so no changes to the QST line of boots from them either. I want the MTN boot to rape the QST pro 120 just to see what its child would look like.

Really? seems more like a replacement for the cochise and bodacious

Not sure if it's a replace my for the gun smoke, but it is NOT a replacement for the bodacious

It is the rustler 11 which is 112 under foot, except for the 188 length which 114mm. I skied the 188 yesterday, and it is a lot of ski haha at least for the east coast...

I don't have a link to the video but Blizzard announced yesturday with a live Facebook event that the rustler series is to replace the Regulator, Peacemaker, Gunsmoke.

They also announced changes to the Brahma and Bonafied but didn't not talk about any specific changes to the cochise and Bodacious.

Spur is changed a lot from previous years.

The video is on Blizzard Ski Facebook page they touch on all of these things

The Brahma now will be offered with and without metal, The cheaper of the two getting a carbon laminate of come sort (not carbon fiber, though). The Rustler will be offered in a 102 waist as well (really good ski, a lot of fun)

Green is the Rustler 11, Orange is the Cochise

Rustler's look very interesting.

2018 4RNT (if you don't mind google's translation):
https://www.friflyt.no/Ski/Her-er-neste-aars-nyheter-fra-4frnt

YLE's gone (not super surprising given that he's been skiing the Kye 110 in a lot of his instagrams)

Kye's series gets new name, updated rocker profile, and new topsheets (not sure what happened to the black topsheets shown in a previous post?)

and the MSP is back.

Stoked to see the Inthayne returning, that thing looks like a ton of fun!

KYE series looks clean, I have yet to see a white topsheet that still looked good after a few days of skiing though.

Very interested in those Rustlers.....

the 102s skied great. They have less metal in them than the bonafide/ coshise, so i think they will be a lot more people that can ski them, as they are less demanding.

Are the KYE's a similar ski?

That is going to be a deadly boot... Backlack walk mode in a Hawks 130 heat moldable shell.... If theres a pin system in it, then the 16/17 tecnica cochise better watch out.

the boots look awesome but there was only one thing i was a little disapointed by with them, but i guess it makes sense really on this boot.

The whole new armada line looks so good, madsteeze back on the graphics.

Nordica have a sweet new boot for next year too.

Catamarans from k2 are going to blow people away from.

You didn't like the Crocs-inspired outsole, did you? :)

Classic!

Nah - I just googled the name of the boot and that notey.com hit came back but the link was dead and the picture cut off the bottom. But we've seen the bottom from Durtschi's Instagram.

Saw the new Head Kore 105 at WH20 the other day. Extremely light with a fair amount of camber and a bit of early rise in the tip and tail. Thing has crazy amounts of pop from just hand flexing, top sheet says it has a carbon-graphite-something-something core and it's actually 108 underfoot.

Reminds me of a more directional purple Candide 3.0.

This thread is probably going to blow up once SIA starts next week. Sadly we will not be there showing our new line but we have and will be showing sneak peaks of our new line on our snapchat and instagram stories, @sagaouterwear.

Sounds like a trend.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with the Monarch this year. Put some more girth in the bibs

Anyone know about the Atomic Punx5 Jonah and Keefer have been on? Any major changes from the previous punx?

Also shots of some K2 and Line in this video although we'll probably see everything next week anyways:

K2 catamarans look quite sick

Punx5 will replace Infamous. It is a cap construction price point ski and punx7 will be the same as punx.
