I have no idea what was wrong with Netherlands last game but I hope they get their shit together so this is a good game.

Van Marwijk didn't change a thing except for introducing Joris Mathijsen who was injured.

NO Huntelaar and van der Vaart.

If we lose, he will be lynched by every Dutch person.
 
I can see why he would want to go to Huntelaar after Van Persie failed to score against the Danes but van der vaart? You'd really put him in over Sneijder who is currently playing his spot? That dude was lights out in the first match and put in one of the best balls all tourney that just wasn't converted. I mean I guess you could put him somewhere else but then he'd be out of spot.

I would have really liked to see the Dutch play a formation that would have allowed them to use both Van Persie and Huntelaar if only because it would be extremely entertaining.

Something that all the football experts in don't get.

Huntelaar has been amazing for Schalke 04 this season.

He is topscorer in the Bunedesliga, he had 47 apaerences and scored 48 times.

His overal for the Netherlands national team is 54 apaerences and 31 goals.

And in most of these matches he was a substitute.

He is a lethal striker, he only needs one change and scores.

And van der Vaart is such a creative player with perfect passes and can take incredible free kicks. (And is a mean finisher as well.)
 
Well if Oranje aren't leading near the end I expect to see him again. But between him and Van Persie there's not much to choose, either can be counted on to produce something. But you have to admit WS might be their best player and deserves his spot over Van der Vaart.
 
The Dutch defense is shit. They're lazy, and overall not very good. Willems isn't good. They need to take de Jong out and put in Huntelaar for the start of this half. There is not enough production offensively either, especially after the first goal.
 
2-0 at the half and to be honest I was not expecting a great lead this early in the match. Robben and Van Persie have been unlucky, but still need to step up their game. To be honest though I epected more out of the dutch in this match then what they are showing so far. I would like to see Gomez out to rest and let Klose get a few minutes in too...

I feel bad for Stekelenburg.

He has made a lot of incredibly saves already but with a defense this bad he can't get them all.
 
Man WTF, second time today my stream stops working all of a sudden and no I'm fucked. And keep in mind, even if they lose today the Dutch still aren't technically out. If Germany beats Denmark and Netherlands beats Portugal by enough goals, they would go through no?
 
his eyes seem to protrude out more than most people, that explains the ET look.

I'm noticing a trend regarding how the European world cup runner up does in the following Euro..

Germany-2002 runner up, knocked out in the group stage in 2004. 2 draws and a loss

france-2006 runner up, knocked out in the group stage in 2008. 1 draw, 2 losses

remains to be seen how the netherlands do here...

italy-1994 runner up, knocked out in euro96 group stage, only they managed to get 1 win.
