Official Discussion Thread for the Euro this Summer.I for one am stoked since I feel the Euro is the best International competition "trimming the fat" if you will.

Predicitions.

Group A: Russia- 1, Poland- 2(a toss up between them and Czech)

Group B: Germany- 1, Netherlands- 2.... wish Portugal could surprise someone, but I doubt it

Group C: Spain-1, Croatia- 2... Croatia partially because I hate Italy, but I think Croatia can actually take Italy

Group D: France- 1, England- 2

France wins it all by beating England for a second time.. more of a hope than a prediction, but oh well. Hope Spain doesn't win and I'd love to see Ireland be competitive.

Good Times.

Post whatever Euro Tournament stuff you want.

Was gonna say it's a little early for that but I like your prediction too much to call you on something stupid

France is really talented...but England??? No Rooney and Hogson picked an awful side. Stewart Downing over Aaron Lennon?

Anyone I think...

Group A: Russia 1, Poland 2, Greece 3, Czech Republic 4

Group B: Germany 1, Portugal 2, Netherlands 3, Denmark 4

Group C: Spain 1, Croatia 2, Italy 3, Ireland 4

Group D: France 1, Sweden 2, England 3, Ukraine 4

Germany over France in the final. Karim Benzema wins the golden boot.

England is still pretty stacked and I think they can make it out of group without Rooney. I am hoping to see Welbeck have a large impact.

I actually agree with your group predictions.

I think poland will be carried by the home advantage. Hosts generally perform fairly well. (just look at France. I'm already putting them down as euro2016 winners; excellent track record of dominating on home soil)

Also wouldn't be too surprised to see sweden take england's spot. The fact of the matter is england are shit. They have been for decades, but due to their domestic league, everyone (IE the English) assume they're going to walk to the trophy every 2 years. Ok I exaggerate, but they aren't the number 1 team in the world to beat every year.

Also don't see italy being blocked out by croatia, but wouldn't be too surprised by it.

As a frenchman/France supporter, making the semis would be excellent. The final would be a dream, but i think it's within reach. A lot of people have written off France having not noticed that France lost 1 game in qualifying, and since that match they have thoroughly beaten England, Brazil, and Germany. You can fluke 1 victory, but you don't defeat those sides that well on luck alone.

As usual I'm rooting for my country, the Netherlands.

The new away kit looks awesome imo.

Everyone that is important should be fit in time.

Stekelenburg: Great keeper, remember WC 2010?

van der Vaart: Underrated, incredible passes and creative play.

Robben: dislike his personality, but he can outrun everyone and still hit a good ball. (if he's not choking.)

Sneijder: Had a bad season, still a great player.

van Persie: works better with Arsenal but still good.

HUNTELAAR: This past season he played 47 matches for Schalke 04 in which most he was a substitute and he still managed to score a ridiculous 48 goals.

van Bommel: underrated, intimidating presence on the field, solid player.

Kuyt: Not the best player but by far the hardest worker, proved to be surprisingly crucial sometimes.

De Jong brothers: Great attacking midfielder/attacker. (Not related to Nigel "karate" de Jong.)

As you can see we are a bit spoiled for choice in the attack/midfield area.

But the only thing is, they Dutch national team are the biggest chokers in the world.

I'm hoping, but fearing they will cock up once again.

Actually, expectation in England is at an all time low. Admittedly, it's usually pretty high but due to our terrible performances in recent tournaments no ones expecting much. But who knows, could be the year we click and become competitive. Not getting my hopes up though.

bump, so much Holland support in here i love it, after heartbreak in south africa its time for redemption!

I've just spent the past 2 and a half weeks in Warsaw setting up everything on the TV side for BBC Sports, it's a shame I won't be there to watch the games.

Lewandoski of Poland for golden boot (shit group, could bag a few early) or RVP for Holland as he is absolutely class, but thats too easy right?

England should be garbage but they do have the ace up their sleeve in the shape of tactical genius/analytical superbrain/videoboard master/commentator extraordinaire Gary Neville on their coaching staff, so magic could happen...

...but won't because like I said, they are garbage and the Premiership is only amazing because we have wonderful world talent to supplement the raft of bang average English players.

I would love Portugal to upset the group of death, but don't hold out much hope because of too much in fighting with the coach Paulo Bento (Carvalho and Bosingwa fallen out and refusing to play) and the lack of a striker (no offense Helder Postiga) and centre mids. Basically all aboard the Ronaldo train. If Portugal get out of the group, I say they win the whole thing.

Yeah, this will be interesting/incredibly shameful/embarrassing. I like Balotelli's personal commitment to "kill and go to jail" anyone who racially abuses him.

feeling germany this time around, i think it would be nice if greece made a decent run because they are all homeless right now, and i live like 5 minutes away from greektown.

Happy to see Russia win and Italy lose. Not sure why, but over the years i have become a big Russia fan.

France has definitely gotten some more attention this week...

going from 2-0 down to 3-2 final, then overall dominating serbia to bring them to a 20 match unbeaten run.

Still don't think they'll win it all, but if they do I'm going to be in a drunken stupor for a few days. Was too young to really celebrate in 1998 or 2000. And i just laid on the floor for 4 hours after 2006.

Allez les bleus!

I'm not a huge soccer fan, but I really do enjoy watching international soccer. My grandfather is a huge soccer fan, so I always root for his teams (Olympique Lyonnais and France).

Fuck the Netherlands. Spain=meh they've won too much stuff already. Vive la France. I would nuke Italy if I could. England is just under France. Germany good, but they're all facists so I can't support that. All other countries in Europe don't stand a chance.

fkn mobile. I really don't care about international football so its always fun to watch as a neutral. I disagree I think the world cup is a better tournament. also we have the usual group of once every two years netherlands fans here, too much orange and listening to cruyff clouds the mind.

c'mon man... sharpen up, Holland played NORTHERN Ireland tonight (and won handsomely) not REPUBLIC of Ireland (who are in the Euro Champs, and probably won't escape the groups, as much as everyone would like them to, me included). They are in fact, different countries.

Just to point out, Englands win rate under Roy Hodgson is 100%, hahaha!................Still im not expecting them to do anything.

Im pretty much going for France, mainly cause i've drawn them in a sweepstake, and will win 25 quid. My national pride/support is quite fickle, that way.

Obviously cheering for Sweden, but to be honest, I'm not sure I could be any less interested, and football is one of the most boring sports to watch.

Netherlands had their chance two years ago in the World Cup. I'm rooting for Denmark mostly.20 years later?
