so halftime spain/italy, 0/0 (for future reference)

when spain pushes the ball left and right all day its called "cool" and the experts just say how awesome it is how they wait for their chance, but in reality (in this game) they dont really get good shots.

when germany (or any other team does that), the experts say that the team has no ideas.

italy should be upfront right now. that volley was technically awesome and would have been a 100% goal if it didnt hit casillas straight in his face. that header around the 30th minute was also a very good scoring possibility. spain had a few semi-legit chances, but they do not scare me right now.

nice to see how passionate and aggressive italy plays. maybe it leads to a penalty (i remember one occasion where 3 italy defenders went recklessly after the ball in the box), but right now it seems that they are the favourite to win it
 
literally no fucking idea what he was doing. italy could win this though. cassano's having a game of it. and although im not much of an italy fan fuck spain's dynasty. i'll take the italy win over spain anyday.

I don't know. Torres had a shit ton of chances when he got on. Damn, I am disappointed that Spain didn't win. They just kept passing the ball around the whole time.
 
torres fucked up, he's past his prime. Best game of the tourney so far though, spain had way to many chances not to win though, they controlled most of the 2nd half.
 
Balotelli was awful. The ground slapping was fucking stupid.

Di Natale's goal was brilliant, what a fantastic substitution. Likewise with Spain's.

Overall I think Spain should've had it with at least one of Torres's chances at the end, it's too bad he couldn't connect. Good game nonetheless.
 
I don't see what the big deal is with being angry and hitting the ground. Torres mistakes made up for Ballotelli's.
 
I'd argue that it's an inappropriate outburst, especially considering that the ref(s) already knew to watch out for him and his hot head.

I'll agree that Torres's mistakes were pretty bad, but Balotelli was RIGHT THERE. One on one, it'll never get more open than that and he just let it go. At least Torres was keeping his head in the game. He may not be the old Torres, but given an opportunity like Balotelli's I don't think he would've simply given it away.

Note: I don't like Torres. At all. I just don't really like Italy and don't like the way Balotelli played.

I need Croatia to win. I have them in my office pool and I need these points after those poor showings from Netherlands and Spain
 
obviously croatia was better, but if you look at all 3 goals, they were pretty fluky.

really, i dont have any preference, but that game could be a 1-0 or so as well.

i was rattled about that, it shoulda ended 1-1, that first goal was weak and the second was clearly offside. Im over it though neither of those teams are making it to the elimination stage
