Official Edelweiss 2011/2012 thread

bit of snow tonight should help! too bad it's going to be well above zero friday and saturday. I guess the next weekend is more hopeful.

Not quite "Tons of snow". If you ever been on the mountain in the summer you'll know it takes way more natural than this to cover things

I would say no. It's supposed to be 10 and sunny tomorrow then 10/11 and rain during the weekend. Any snow they do have they wouldn't want to get pushed all over and melted away a lot faster than if they left it in a pile.

I'd say this weekend might be a good bet. it's going to be cold enough for them to run the guns almost 24/7 from now till then.

oh ma gawd i hope you are correct.

If this is the case i will definetly be in attendance. I hope theres at least one flat rail set up.

they should do what they did a couple years ago and set up the babby hill with all the rails

I was told Sunday it's for sure open 10-4. I'm surprised they haven't updated their website at all.

I'd call their customer service to make sure though. 819-459-2328

their status on FB says they are confirmed to open 10-4 tomorrow, and will confirm for hours during the week.

STOKED that they are finally open, not so stoked that i have an exam and can't go anyways.

Saturday they had 2 down rails, a flat box and a butter box. I went today, and they removed everything. All there was was a flat box and pvc we setup ourselves.

I'm guessing they took the stuff down to blow and move more snow around during the week and to probably get a decent setup going for Christmas holidays.

Little update from the hill. They have the mini park set up pretty nice. A small walk ride, flat down box, pvc, long down rail, barrel, flat box, and flat rail.

Anyone gonna be here this week? I'll be there from Toronto at some point, probably the 28th and looking for people to ski with. PM me

Yo I'll be there tomorrow. Look for me in a brown orage coat that actually fits, yellow snowpants, full tilts and last years Punx riding with 3 boarders

I asked one of you guys if you knew how to get to Chads Gap as you skied by. You replied "YEAH" and then our group cheered. Who was that?

little bit last minute, but if there are a few NSers at the hill tomorrow I'm thinking we should do a just-for-funsies little mini-comp. If you're down come say hi, I'll be the patroller with the red pants/seth pistols. and maybe if we buy MacMahoooon a beer he'll come judge a couple runs

first they'll have to open Zoomer completely so there's somewhere for people to ski that isn't a circle before closing off Yoddler. and they might even want one of the other skiers left runs open first too. then they'll have to blow a bunch more snow in there for the features. end of the month would be my best guess. I just really hope they put in some sort of jump soon, even a mini one at the bottom would be dope

spoke too soon. they have a pretty nice jump next to the wall ride. I'm guessing about 12-15 feet from lip to knuckle

haha indeed i did. i was hitting that jump every run for the last 2 days i've been up, it's pretty fun.

oh yeah. the speed is a little wonky you kinda have to skip a few features in the park. it seems like if you bomb from beside the flat rail you're ok. i was doing some backflips and cork 7s, it was a soft landing today

Shit I was planning on going up today but went to cascade instead (im really regretting getting the cascade pass over the edel one)

I wwaannt to hiitt soomee juummpps (insert whiny annoying voice)

I think they have 15 features set up now. Yesterday everything came down as snow at the hill so it was amazing conditions all day.

Pretty sure they still just have 1 legit jump beside the wall ride. Was up last night and man it was a blast in all that new snow

only one jump. all the rails are basically ride on. you have to bomb the whole run if you want to hit the jump.
