So its about that time, people are going to be receiving their 333skis in the next few weeks, and this is the place to post up reviews.

What I would like to see, is a general summary of your skis shape, dimensions, pics etc. Then when you get to use them on snow, a first impression. Finally, after a good season of abuse, an overall conclusion on how you like/dislike them, for the skiing, durability, etc.

If you have questions about a specific pair of skis, try to PM the poster, so the thread does not get huge and cluttered. I would like to have as many pairs reviewed as possible. If you have a general question about the construction of the skis, or whatever, just PM me.
 
Im planning on ordering a pair once michael gets back to me with the multi point sidecut excel spreadsheet. its been taking him a while. Is anybody else having the same thing happen?
 
my brother has a pair on the way so i will post a review for them once he gets them, i think he essentially made pontoons but not 100% sure. pics and a description will come once he gets his paws on them
 
UPDATE: Michael said that he would not be able to give me a build/ship date at this time, due to the amount of orders he has recieved, but is trying to get everything done. So no skis yet, but I will post when relevant info comes my way.
 
man that guy is a genious. i cant believe he manage to pack all that stuff into a trailer. i might go down there in the spring or something and help build a pair for myself as i would like to ski build as a hobby. well see i guess.
 
He takes a while to respond and isn't very clear

After a lot of talking, I finally decided to buy the skis i designed. But he hasn't said anything about money or starting them or anything... Its confusing, and i want to make sure i get these skis for the season...
 
So here is an update.

Michael has not been scrambling to fill orders, he has been working on

making his factory more efficient, so he can cycle through about 10

pairs a day instead of 3 or so.

So don't freak out if you have not heard anything from him in a

while, and do not go ahead and buy a different pair because you don't

think he is going to get it done.

Other small companies, like DPS and Praxis are having trouble filling orders on time too. Just be patient, and remember.

so cool that hes in there. I emailed him to make sure my order is all set because i bet hes going to get a ton more business now. he told me about the new tools and what not, and that its going to take a few weeks. im so psyched.
 
Not too surprising. I was (I think) one of the first group of people to start talking to him about an order a while back, and I knew he was getting a ton of orders, and that he would be making some changes. He had me and possibly a few others check out a few sheets(like multi point sidecut order form) for any errors, and also took some time to make those videos that are on the site about how he gets his materials and how the skis are built. Everything he showed me seemed perfect, and he by no means aimed to be cheap/lazy with his job at all. The care he has been taking just getting everything ready in the factory and on the site should give an idea of the effort he will be putting into the skis. People that complain about not getting their skis in early September, which I don't think you are, are just being impatient. Give him some time, he's just getting everything sorted out so that what he sells will be quality.

The only downside I can think of of these is the cap construction. Sidewall lays down turns on groomers better IMO. That being said, cap saves a ton of weight and there is no delam problem, and my ski is made for pow and will be used for all my touring(195, 118 underfoot, pretty straight with fairly large tip rocker and taper, and medium tail taper, medium-long tail rocker with low rise, camber underfoot=BEAST)
 
this is true with normal cap construction yes, But since the cores he is using are horizontally laminated, it should result in much stiffer cores torsionally speaking, and they should ride alot better on the groomers comparatively. And since they trim down on wood thickness, and have no topsheet material, they should be alot lighter.

You might have to have him add some lead sheeting so they dont blow away...jk obviously.
 
Shit, your right. That could be a great thing..I hope it really makes groomers as much better as it sounds it could. The horizontal layout always seemed smarter to me, and it annoyed me that Line claimed to think it up themselves even though it has been used before, just not so advertised..
 
You should not be mad at Line. They saw an opportunity to bring something to the market that had not really been done before. They used the points of durability, reduced wood and plastic waste, and marketed what should turn out to be the burliest jib skis ever. I just hope Line starts using this technology in some of their other skis. I would love to see some Horizontal layup EP Pros myself.

I would also like to see more companies using Bamboo. From a longboarding perspective, Bamboo is much more sustainable than normal ski core material, is much lighter, has a damp, easy to manipulate flex, and is also very durable. Bluehouse, Liberty, and ON3P are already using bamboo, but I think that in the next few years, we are going to see more and more of that too.

By the way, unless something important happens, the next time I update this thread, will be when my skis are on the way, or I hear other people are recieving their orders. Then of course, it will finally be review time.

 
Yah i haven't heard from him in a while either and i ordered in the beggining of august. Don't want to back out but mounting at shops round here are getting back ordered quick.
 
Haha, they didn't bring it to the market. Michael had been using it in all the factorys or whatever he was making before this, and some skis(especially older) and snowboards already used it. Line just took something which IMO won't effect performance THAT much and over-advertised it as something genius and new. Also we don't know it's one of the burliest jib skis ever since we haven't had extended time on it. Yet everybody seems to believe it so I guess it's another line genius sales pitch which somehow so many people believe.

Oh, and about what you said earlier about this layup being alot better for cap, I'm not sure if that's right. There is still no material above the edge where it is on sidewall skis, and I think that is the difference.

Anybody know when Michael will start making his skis? I'm so stoked to have a ski that will actually shine on cliffs(Center mounted chronics weren't a big help). Am I the only one making a directional charger?
 
So I finally got the long awaited call today. I have to send some money to 333, but my skis are to be made in the next few days, so expect pictures, and a detailed first impression within 2-3 weeks.
 
a few NSers have placed orders. my brother ordered a pair, he doesnt use NS so when he gets them im gonna post a review for him
 
I sent him an email a while back about approximate dates but didn't get anything until the other day. It was from Kristen, his manager it sounds like people will start getting their skis fairly soon.
