Official 2012 MLB Thread

Or if the NHL was shitty like the MLB is, as far as paying players.

It's atrocious for small market teams, and the parity is ridiculously swayed. The guys the A's have now won't be on the team in 3-4 years if they don't get a new stadium. That's fucking awful.

That was such a good game.

And hopefully the tigers can outscore the white sox today because Turner has consistently sucked at pitching.

That's 4 in a row, you Yankee cunts...

SUCK. MY. PAENIS...

HYPHY...

Glad to see the whitesox are out of first! Keep up the good work! Love, a hopeless Twins fan

its all right hes pretty damn old now so you guys had him in his prime and NY just bought an overpriced 1=2 year left flop

i said that because our best up and coming (not in ichiros case, he was just our best player) get traded to the yankees, pineda now ichiro.

obviously there not their literal farm team.

woke up thinking he was playing the yankees, now he's playing for the yankees against seattle.wish this game was on tv.

at least he has a chance of winning a title now?

Mostly because he just sucks lol.

Just wait till Brian 'can't grow a real black beard' Wilson comes back... aka: Eric Gagne 2.0

Dude. Multiple Tommy Johns? and this one at 30 or however old he is?

Looks like the Closer formerly known as Jario Garcia's going to be sticking around the SF camp for a while... It might be 2014 before Brian Wilson even could consider a real return, and that's if he gets to that point.

I feel like he'll make it back to the bigs again, but whether or not he's going to have staying power, after 2 Tommy John Surgeries (this one being far more reconstructive than the first one) I really question... because he's a pitcher who relies on his velocity over anything. That dips below 95 or so, and he's going to be toast, because he's no corner painter.

To say that my Rockies are terrible would be an understatement. The sad thing is that we have a dangerous offense but you have to have pitching if you want to be a good baseball team and the Rockies have none. Being a die hard fan of the worst team in baseball is depressing. Oh well, theres always next year right?

I would like to give a large what the fuck to the twins for trading one of their only decent pitchers (Liriano) to the team we hate the most (White Sox). SERIOUSLY, why? I'm so mad. And for two minor leaguers, who knows if they'll do anything. Only reasoning behind it is that Liriano will be a free agent at the end of the year and we wanted something for him?

On the bright side, we just swept the indians, and we're in not in 5th place for the first time since April 25th. Still 12+ games back but celebrating the little things.

And I'm not an Astros fan so, could be worse.

Jesus christ... loaded in the bottom of the 10th and our best hitter so far this season can't deliver the 14th walkoff of the year haha. Oh well. ON TO THE 11TH HOUR!

Screw the whole 20 game win streak from the Moneyball days... This year is BEYOND INCREDIBLE. Billy Beane is a fucking ARTIST.

LETS GO OAKLAND!!!

red sox are fiercely determined to prove themselves as being the worst team in baseball.

The team needs a total rebuild from the bottom up. It's what they should have done last summer, but never quite fully did. Instead we're stuck halfway.

I really feel for Bobby Valentine though. I talk to him before and after almost every game, and he's a great guy. He's just in a terrible position where he can't change or say anything, with a team that simply doesn't want to play.

The big difference I see is that the success of the last decade upped how the red sox viewed themselves. They assumed they'd be successful no matter, and in my opinion, became too yankee-esque. The team got full of itself.

the red sox are supposed to be the anti-yankee in literally every regard. (except ideally, success.)

but on the plus side, the team is honoring Fenway's 100th Anniversary by playing like they have for so many of those 100 years: disappointingly terrible.

Giants put down the Rockies two days in a row. Finally got Hector Sanchez back and Hunter Pence looked good

He can throw pretty damn well and he has way more speed then schierholtz. I'll trade the skill of schierholtz for the fielding range of Pence

Just went to my second Yankee game this summer. Got seats right with the bleacher creatures. Pretty cool game last night yanks winning 8-2. Swish hitting his 200th dinger.

Heres a video of the role call. I'm the tourist looking kid in front of bald vinny with the flip phone

23-8 since the All Star break, most of that without their best player in Joey Votto. If my Reds can keep this run alive, I really like their chances going into October.
