and he is very much the MVP of his line, raymond and samuelsson haven't been doing anything until recently

ha me and my roommates were watching the game and thought it was hilarious in the final seconds when they were showing the habs bench. Looked like a team that had been physically and mentally beaten. Boston lay a smackdown on them.

Great game though. Exactly what a bruins-habs game needs to be.
 
yes it was crazy, bruins put down almost every hab in every fight last night and im pretty sure boychuck and campell could be put in jail for murder for what they did to those two canadians at the end of the 3rd

i actually felt bad for spacek (was it? can't remember) in the fight with boychuk. Looked like he didn't even want to fight in the first place, and got his shit rocked.

Only disappointment of the night was the goalie fight. Though when watching replays, it almost looked as if the two of them only semi-fought as a way to draw attention away from the brawl on the other side.
 
well they just played the all star game together so i dont really think they had any animosity, rather on good terms. Even when price had him down, he didnt bother hitting him again. Besides, what just recently happened with Di Pietro, i doubt either of them wanted to get hurt when playoffs are right around the corner seeing as both teams are in.

Still funny to watch though. A Playoff series between these two this year would be insane

thomas fight was a joke, even if price wanted to square off against timmy (which he cleared wanted no part of) price would haved destroyed old man thomas..isnt price like 6'4" 230lbs??

i heard thomas was skating back out during the 3rd period brawl but price just stayed in his crease..both players are way too valuable to be out there fighting im surpised it took a rookie to realize this and not the veteran
 
FUCK yeah portland.....!!!!! but it will prob be Seattle since they already have an arena that gets no use and the rose garden is pretty booked during the hockey season....
dont get me wrong i would love the nhl in portland.... at least we have the WHL winterhawks and they are killing it right now.. top of the league.

But..they arguably play in the worst West coast division, playoff success experience is low within the players. Lots of Nucks big headed nucks fans. Kesler over-rated etc.

Just screams Crapitols from last year to me. I am a large believe in the hockey gods..and something about this year just gives me a gut feeling that it is all going to come crashed down HARD.

I have no proof/stats/or anything to justify that....but that is why I LOVE hockey, anything can happen & will happen.
 
he'll figure it out eventually. its simply natural that some of the young players in the league are cocky and arrogant, theyre not even allowed to drink in the states yet and theyre making millions of dollars and have a bunch of people do everything for them and thousands of ppl pay to watch them play sports. i dunno, its understandable in my opinion
 
If they had an owners group come together and want to build an arena for both a hockey team AND a Basketball team, it could be done... but Seattle isnt going to publically fund that. No way...
also... That's barely bigger than the MTS centre in Winnipeg...

NOT that it matters a ton... seeing as they'd still sell the shit out of games and would be far more profitable than phoenix or atlanta or florida...

That was not a hockey game, that was straight up ambush. Please note that, meetings like this arent really normal(let alone for 3 players at once).

Also, HALEY is a complete "I will never touch NHL ice NOBODY". He was brought up solely for this game & jumped everyone.

He has played 3 games EVER in the NHL since like 2004. He can't make the Islanders squad(joooooookkkee).

NHL coaches/Gm's pulling shit like this is disgusting. But then again, look who their coach & GM are(can you say back-up for life?).

Pens ONLY "goon like" major penalty was Godard being the 3rd man in. And at that point in this game, I am DAM PROUD that he did that. What fucking player charges a goalie from across the rink?! Gotta hold DP's dick while he pee's too? Godard is expendable, Johnson is not....that is all that matters! Smart move with the playoffs potentially in sight.

The suspensions given tonight are going to be really interesting....

I could not be happier with the recent spat of brawls in the NHL. It's classic. The NHL has been slowly turning a big vagina of a league, handing out rediculous suspensions for hits that ten years ago would have been seen as simply a good hard hit. (Read: Tom kostopoulos.)Obviously headshots are dangerous and I've gotten concussions myself from being hit hard, but the league seems to be moving in too up-tight a direction. anyway, last week's game between the habs and bruins was the most entertaining game I've seen in a long time. classic old time hockey.

is completely false. did you see the goal he scored tonight. had you said that about trevor gillies i would agree.

and really this is all because of how the penguins acted last week after the johnson/diepietro incident.

 
you still dont have a point. THE KID IS 24. its not like he has played 10 years in the AHL and never gotten called up til now.

despite fighting 3 times last night Haley is not a goon. he can play hockey. which he showed with a highlight reel goal last night.Eric Godard is a goon with no hockey kill. Trevor Gillies is a goon with no hockey skill. Micheal Haley can play hockey.

and if your bringing in stats you would notice that he led Bridgeport in scoring at the time he was called up.

its just funny how pens fans will talk all this shit on the islanders calling them a joke when the pens were a joke for 10 years and then they drafted crosby and shit got better.

all in all what happen last night has been blown out of proportion by the media. martin and gillies will get suspended(as they should) and no one will remember this shit in a few weeks.
 
and its not like every player is a someone who comes out of juniors and excels at the NHL level at 18. Haley is still young. and just because he was still in bridgeport this season really doesnt mean shit. hes never gonna be a first or second liner. but he has potential to be an energy guy who can rally a team.

id liken him to a brandon prust type player. but i think he fights better than prust.

i think youd be best not to jump to judgement on a player you know nothing about and have only seen play 1 game.

The Islander do not.

Why would Talbot waste his time in a retaliatory fight, with the potential to get injured?

Considering the Islanders simply 0 threat to anybody when it comes to playoffs/the cup.

Really explains why the Islanders literally had to start "jumping" players. And the sitting meetings the Islanders had to have, and the multiple suspensions.

Again, its just basic SMART hockey man....and the Islanders really arent worth ANYONES time when it comes to the big picture, and thats winning a cup.

Think about that, in the big picture of the NHL and repeat it over in your head.

The Islanders, the one team in the NHL to consistently fights for last place in the NHL year in and year out.

Also, 24 is not a KID....I have idea where that mentality comes from.

Pens made playoffs fairly consistently up until 2001. And were back into them in 06-07. And dont forget the lock-out year.

Since 1993, the Islanders have only made the playoffs twice, both times they were 1st rd knockouts(in my memory is correct). With many years inbetween visits.

Chara

Luongo

Bertuzzi

Palffy

Jokinen

Osgood

Peca

Guerin

(passed on Heately & Gaborik....for DP)

That list, should make any general hockey fan want to puke.

Islanders are full of excuses, and excuses dont win cups.

for 1 the playoffs are 2 months away. and even if talbot fought martin, its not a miss match. there NO reason why talbot could not have fought martin. instead he chose the bitch route and turtled to the ground and allow engelland to come in and handle it.

had this been early april i would understand. but is February.

if the islanders arent worth anyones time why did they score 3x the amount of goals as the penguins last nigh?

no the islanders have made the playoffs 7 times SINCE the 1993 season. the 1993 playoffs they beat pittsburgh. i have no clue how many times they have been to the playoffs in franchise history.

my problem is that you are treating the islanders like they are some expansion team that came into the league 15 years ago. they have a lot of history, that in your orginal posts you seemed to ignore.

 
well, leafs didnt have shit on us last night ahaha, and i was pumped to see subban drop the mits, even though it wasnt that great of a fight, and he didnt really let lupul take his bucket off so that was kinda sketch but whatever. as we were walking out of the bell centre, we hear a bunch of chirping and laughing behind us, so i turn around, and Burke was walking out right behind us, and everyone was chirping him. it was kinda funny, but i thought it was a dick move by the ppl who were chirping, cus ya maybe he hasnt made the best decisions in toronto but i still respect him you know, but whatever.
