seeding means so much less in hockey than probably any other sport. especially if you have a hot goaltender. it even seems like an advantage to some teams.
 
Where my high school team practices is the caps rink and the ducks were running a practice before us. so outside the locker room there was a table full of chipotle for them and the guy at the rink told us we could have it since they were gone already. So all the stuff had the number of the player on it for the meal and my buddy ended up getting Bobby Ryan's Chipotle and I got Jonas Hillers bag of chips... /claim

Pond hockey frickin rules. Got some gloves, a new stick, and a bunch of pucks that we painted orange so we can find em at night. Experimenting with ways to treat the ice after every night, so far the best has been buckets of water and brooms. It ain't perfect but it sure is fun :)

Anyway, looking forward to the late night games with the west coast next week. Hopefully we can crank it up an notch without pronger cause that last game was terrible.
 
This might be what we try next. It's creek fed and just upstream we have it dammed so it is a bit higher. I've got a hundred foot hose or so that I gotta thaw out and then take over there so we can try. There is a dam at the far end where it flows out too so that's where we filled buckets last night.

I also made a few shoddy boards today to stop the pucks from going too far toward the creek.

haha goin back right now to have a few more brews and play some more. I need tape bad, and we could use a few more sticks. I tried lefty for a while and am probably the best of us with the "awkward stick". That highlight from Ryan up there is the shit by the way.

Maybe I'll snap some pics tonight.
 
Which is why Mississauga leads the OHL in wins, losses, goals for, and goals against, and is statistically the best team in the CHL (ratios applied), with less goals against than any other team. Keep dreaming...
 
What are you talking about, we dismantled you all three games we've played this season. I was at the last game and we had a huge advantage in possession and scoring chances, and don't bring up two empty net goals, because Kingston got lucky with a buzzer beater in the second

bullshit game tonightcaps should have beat the penguins in ot when green scored. but somehow if you put your glove over the puck as it crosses the goal line disguising it, then it doesnt count. bullshit
 
Minn got so lucky last night, Backstorm saved their ass. Wait till the Avs get Mueller, Hejduk, McLeod, and Mauldin back. God dam we will be sooo stacked...

You guys had a stupid amount of chances to take over that game. The Caps didnt. They lost fair and fucking square. Theres no way you can say that shot by green was a goal. No proof whatsoever... It was not a goal. Live with it.
And then you had the chance to win in a shootout, and you didnt.

When you fail as hard as the caps did, you deserve to lose.

i do not see how giving the (arguably) best player in hockey history a lifetime contract to play for your team is a death sentence. and if you consider semin, backstrom, knuble, and poti 4th line players you must not be watching the same sport as me. the team is packed full of talent young and old.. granted the past few years have not been as successful as desired but to say that they are a "huge failure" is just foolish. we won the presidents cup last year; while yes we did lose in the first round that i wouldnt consider the entire season a bust. the caps WILL win the stanley cup if not this year..eventually.

Well that gave me a chuckle, if you actually think Ovechkin is even close to some of the best players in HISTORY, your on crack. He can score goals, but thats about it. So many players i would have instead of him. Crosby, Toews, Sedins, Stamkos and more.

losing in the first round of the playoffs is a bust. Regular season means squat for a team like the capitals, when your expected to win and you get ousted early its a failure.

Being a Canucks fan the second round is not good enough for me, happened to often lately. This year i expect at least conference finals, anything else and i will be very dissapointed
 
(DiPietro is almost 30yrs old and has 11 years remaining on his contract. something tells me that when hes ending his 15 yr contract the islanders arent gonna want him starting in goal)
Ovechkin is 25yrs old with 10 seasons left on his contract. I'm pretty sure when he is 35 years old he still will continue to be one of the most dominant players in the league. and your "no support" is bullshit. ovechkin is having a terrible year (to his standards) and his teammates have picked up the slack. Your statistics and "points" on Semin could not be more wrong. Its one thing to have an opinion but to pull these bs stats just makes you seem retarded. Semin is not a STAR player like ovechkin, crosby, or sedin but plays a crucial role in the caps success. So overrated? i would strongly disagree.Backstrom is a "bitch made," VALID POINT!!!Knuble is old as fuck ill give you that, but right now and for at least 1 more season he can lead the team with his EXPERIENCE..

look if you dont like the capitals and think they wont ever win a cup, so be it. but to deny the raw talent of the team while making up these false statistics and bashing the caps becasue you don't like them is just ridiculous.
(us DC sports fans have little taste in success recently, so please let us enjoy it rather than pulling this shit out of your ass to win an e-argument)
 
0 goals in a 7 game series (2pts). Semin played like shit last years playoffs. the entire team did. hence why we lost in the fist round. Im not denying the massive disappointed that was last years season. (just fyi semin had 14 pts in 14 games in 2009 playoffs)..
blowing a 3-1 lead is a fucking disgrace but not getting "stomped." Halak had a fucking ridiculous series and was virtually unstoppable. the entire playoffs was pretty wack last year seeing as how the 7th and 8th seeds made it to the eastern conference finals.. (not trying to excuse their performance jsut noting)
but if you want to continue and hate on the caps be my guest. ill be here to say i told you so when (not if) we win a stanley cup.
