Official 2010/2011 NHL Thread

It was nice to get a couple wins last weekend, even if it was devils and islanders. Hope we can keep it going tonight with the sharks.

Easy on the Hextall hate fellas, I think you're all just jealous your goalie doesn't get to score goals. No seriously though that guys looks like way more of an asshole than a talented goalie, regardless, that was before my time of watching hockey. I'm old but really only been watching hockey the last three years or so.
 
all my leafs fans friends are convinced theyre gonna snap his point streak and theyre gonna run show tonight. i dunno, i thought it was pretty hilarious
 
i actually don't doubt them. the pens always have problems with the leafs for whatever reason. home game, due for a close loss, easy to overlook since the leafs are sub-par this year. lots of talent, though.

idk about the crosby thing, though. it just seems impossible at this point that he doesn't at least get a helper. he is just everywhere.
 
West doesnt have what it takes this year like it did in the past. it seems like all we have are the wings, and even theyre on a small losing streak. My hawks, although slowly trending up, have been garbage , as have the Sharks, who are tied for the 8 spot in the conference. As much as i hate to say it this might be a year where the east is better than the west, but i feel like its a little to early to call that.
 
Thats because the Western conference is actually balanced. 15th in the west is only 1 point 9th in the east...

a western team should win the cup this year, either the wings, canucks, kings or sharks. but their road to the finals will be much tougher then any eastern team. the only teams in the east that could actually compete with the top 8 western teams are the penguins, flyers and boston. imo
 
By the way. San Jose's probably going to lose this game since they just pummeled Detroit. haha. They've been so streaky, that they cant even get on a streak of any sort...
Trading wins and losses every game for like 3 weeks now... wtf.
 
You're right about the ownerships only caring about financial profit. Why would they pay extra money for better players if the air Canada centre is full every game? I'm not sure he's one of the greatest hockey mind around. I could be ignorant though...
 
That's the thing, I don't really see any valuable products skating around the ice. I only see a pile of garbage.

I'm sure Brian Burke tries to clean up the team though, it's just not an easy task.

cant wait to collect so much money from people on my floor. why on earth would you bet the leafs to finish higher than the habs this season is beyond me
 
k well this comment was pretty stupid. you dont see any good players AT ALL??? like ya theyre sucking but they still have some talented players on that team

They might have a few talented players such as Kessel, but it's the end result that counts. They aren't winning any games.

God damnit that was a tough loss, guess that's what happens when you quit playing in the third. Don't even know how that lead dissolved so fast.

Ah well I didn't even think it would be that close after tuning in to the pre-game, we'll beat ya one of these years hopefully. What a fuckin nail biter though god. Has a puck ever been closer when the horn blew? fuck
 
not sure what part of the area you're from, but guinos is just as common if not more than the "guins"...

either way, sick win again last night. crosby crosby crosby. this team is going to be awfully scary when staal comes back (and when geno pulls his head out of his ass).

Have fun defending that when things are clicking even moderately well.

Especially when Boyle's on the ice sending them in.
 
^congratulations. the sharks have one of the better teams in the league for like the 5th straight year and they have yet to best the west in the playoffs. shit, only last year did they crack the final 4 and then got the broom courtesy of the blackhawks

all i hear from you is "regular season heroes", which obviously counts for nothing
 
Crosby is more than just on another level than those guys. Malkins missed two games and hasn't played well all year and still has 22 points. pens have one of the top defenses in the entire league. Marc Andre-Fleury is unstoppable right now. We are in first place and are missing possibly our second best player in Jordan Staal. Pens are far superior to the sharks.
