Offical Summer Set-up Thread!

im so stoked my friend and have a 15 foot flat rail and a 20 foot trap rail for his backtyard there is a hill and we made a drop in for it we are going to get ice shaving and july 3rd and have a sweet rail jam ill post pics

I think the cheapest (and simplest) way to build slidy shit is to fiberglass some wood. You can buy a 20 oz can + hardener for about $40 CDN and that should make a whole lot. I used about 2 oz on my 12 ft by 1 ft box. But I needed to add another layer or two, cuz I dug into that really fast...

Here is our latest addition to the rails:

I just finished building it so we havn't hit it yet and obviously its not in the place it will be.

the second and fourth leg arent touching the ground are they? i guess youll just put wood underneath?

Maybe you should have read my post along with looking at the picture. It was designed that way because where we put it, it works.

SO I here lexan is a good top rail material. any other good materials in case that one is pricy? i dont want pvc i want actualy materail that i can get at home depot. thanks guys good thread

hey i dont know if im retarded but i guess home depot only sells lexan in 10 feet by 100 foot rolls costing 37$. also with the polythelyne stuff too. anywhere were i can get just 8 foot crap?

I built a 10.5 ft flat rail out of 2x4. Currently epoxying, which is taking a bitch-load of time in this cold, humid weather. Next project I'm checking out that PVC piping...

Could ABS work like pvc or should i really stick with pvc? cause i cant find any at my warehouse store..like small white 1 1/4 inch pcv pipes. . .

that looks pretty sweet. I have now given up on epoxy because it has been sticky like fuck and not quite hardening for some weird reason. so I'm going to switch to pipes.

If have got some trouble with my pvc. Coz I sometimes get stuck in it or just got pieces out of it. You guys have that to and know what I can do about it?

bump for the upcoming summer, and my need for rail info and plans as i venture into the homemade rail world

my pvc slides just fine all summer and the only time it slows down is when it gets dirty ... then i just wash it off and its good to go
