It's that time again.

There was some shreddage today on a rail, but it's looking sad up there for the moment. Should turn around soon. Pray for Powder!

There is maybe half an inch in the village. Mid mountain has no snow, and there is probably a trace of snow on the summit. The rail today was fun though. Things can only get better...

damn you Dave, I created the FIRST Big MTN thread two years ago and you took my glory away from me last year.....

So you in whitefish this winter Dave?

I might not be on the mountain til around Christmas, but I DID buy a snowmobile :). Ill def check the thread to see how the season is going til I get up there

Sorry to take over duties last year, but I thought that it needed to happen. You can have Official Ownership if you want.

I'll be home from around the 20th of December to February 2nd or so, and I am stoked to ski with everyone.

pardon my language but where the fuck is the snow?

i have been making sacrifices left and right but no snow?

ullr are you alive?

At 1pm today they are going to make the call as to whether or not to open the backside with downloading.

Looks like a little snow in the forecast.

Opening tomorrow, with Cariboo and Whitetail on the backside. Up and downloading on Chair 1.

Bummed that I'm not there, but people should go and take advantage.

As much as i love sharing 1 blue run and 1 green run with 100+ people, I think I'm gonna wait for more terrain. plus I like the way the bottoms of my skis look...

keep praying.

The rocks must be appeased before more can come. It is your duty to go, as I am stuck in WA for 10 more days, and cannot be there.

Well looks like there's more open now.

Plus, I found my oooold fugitives (they were the best ever back then) so I'll go teach them a lesson tomorrow.

11:30 Update: The East Rim Just opened, North bowl face just opened.

Patrol will be opening upper Big Ravine to Ed's in just a little while.

I hit The East Rim right after they opened and it was fantastic. Great

coverage with some obstacles to watch out for. The snow was deep and

supportive. The sun has been shining all day and the weather is great.

More terrain is opening daily so stay tuned. Keep your eyes on a

possible storm this weekend.

^from the ski report.

Yay!

damn... east rim is going to be rocky i predict.... at least its not built on a gigantic pile of jagged shale like big sky is...

50 mph winds and -40 degree wind chill. Pretty uncharacteristic of Big Mtn.

Windloading in the BC is going to be hell. I hope this doesn't screw the snowpack for a while.

A couple of my buds went cattin up canyon today. they said it was awesome pow, but just miserable weather and a white out blizzard still up top. both got frost bite...

any features up in the park yet?

i saw that they were building some new features for the winter on the big mtn. website a while back that looked SICK.

They are supposedly opening things up on Saturday the 20th, according to the Facebook event. The whoopdee rail should be fun.

hey guys im comin out there over break. we leave tomorrow and come home (seattle) on jan 2nd so ill prolly see some of you over break eh? feel free to say hi. blue jacket, white pants, 09 anthems. the names beau. random post i know but i just bein friendly

Today was sick. There is a bunch of fresh snow if one knows where to look, and the posse was in full effect.

Upper free parking has been "Reserved for All Cal." I didn't know you could rent a parking lot and then fill it 1/4 full with 6 tour buses.

Temp was -17 on the summit. Cover you face.

20' Box and 20' rail in the park, they should be opening a lot more tomorrow.

For the record, Travis Adams and Willy Hobbes are absolutely slaying it. Watch out for those two.

today marks my first day of skiing for the term, i know i know how late. I am super stoked and cannot wait to shred the big again. Davie boy i hope to see you up on the cold cold day. My lizzies are calling to me, and i hope they forgive me for not talking to them in for a few months.

shaeeee what up buddy!!! i thought you were at college? it's beau!

whens the weather supposed to get warmer around here? its balls cold. driving thru hot springs tonight it was -22 degrees

Everyone on here should keep a look out for a first year Lizzie on skiers left of Big Face, James has been relegated to old 1080s and we need to get his ski back!

Pretty cold today

Base is not very thick, i hit a few rocks on groomed runs and got hung up in trees

Park is mehhhhh......

Other than that, my first day up this year, so im stoked about that.

Lets hope they get some more soon

liking the big mntn stoke. i really want to make it up there this year. of course, i say that every year and it never happens. i do have some vacation time to use up....

good god i wish i did not lose my lizzie in the early snow. If ANYONE comes across a lone lizzie lost in the snow please call me.

I feel like such a gaper when i ride around on 1080s,... if there is one thing i have learned this season do not judge anyone by their skis people. That is just ski-ist.

Today was bonkers. Very deep snow.

Alex and Dave were hucking themselves off rocks and stomping the poo out of everything. Let's hope it keeps dumping!

Today I actually choked on snow for my first time this season. They opened the basin, enough said.

First tracks down the right side of Greys. Waist deep. I couldn't see much.

We were headed to Bighorn and they had just dropped the rope, we got super lucky. Hellroaring got tracked out at warp speed though. Even Connies was destroyed only an hour later.

My knees keep telling me to take a break, but there's too much pow for that.

heres to another epic day of riding.... be safe friends up there. The warming weather and blowing snow is not always the best.
