damn, well seeing as i've only been once since i got hurt and then xmas break, i'm still pumped to come ski there. plus half the mountain wasn't even open when i was there.. have you been skiing headwaters and whatnot though?
 
being back at college sucks. Those few days skiing over break were probably my favorite ever. From backflip trains, hand drags, pole less runs, choking on powder, and even snapping my armadas in half. Have fun boys on the Big.
 
yeah, i've hit up the headwaters a little, and back under the challenger chair once. i'll be able to show ya'll around a little.
 
last i heard...about an hour ago....was that three people went into the canyon and it slid. one person died and two others are still buried. really scary situation.

I'm going to see if they still need help back there tomorrow, does anyone know if they are going to keep searching.
 
It was dumping hard all day today :). The snow is nice and light too
Pretty cold temperatures, its starting to get a little windy here tonight in Whitefish.

Park is good, I like the flat down box and the new barrel jib. The jumps are actually decent. Plenty of jibs to be had.
Pipe is pretty good, needs to be cut.

rofl, its like -10 F up there with -20 windchills I heard right now, the chairlifts might not even be open yet. Thats what I heard anyways, not sure if Im going up or not at this point
 
i just got down, it was bullshit. i didnt find out that one and two werent running till i was about halfway up on the snowbus, so i just decided id be a park rat for awhile, but most of the park was closed, and they wouldnt let you hit the pipe cuz they were getting ready for the contest. it was windy, but theyve run chair one in way worse conditions....
 
Biggest let down of the year for me. I was so psyched, and then they didn't run the chairs. Which I understand.

So I ended up at Blacktail, and took care of some unfinished business I had there with a cliff and shredded the 14" of pow until my boots and mitts froze (there was white frost on the insides of my mitts, I kid you not).
 
And in all likelyhood, this storm has turned the BC into a shitshow, so be careful out there for windloading and the crust this will put under successive snowfall.

Yeah, or something resembling it.

We had an awesome day rocketing around the Big. Screamin' Semens, backies, fronts, lincolns, the whole nine yards.

I am such a horrible role model.

But Travis threw a super stomped Lincoln on the takeoff we bootpacked onto the Greywolf gap.
 
Today we did some body sledding down Ptarmigan bowl. Really fun, and you can get going really fast if you aren't careful. I also learned Polish donuts, so that makes me happy.
 
We are getting some powder tonight, it was snowing really hard when I left the mtn at 5 pm.

There are now 3 jumps in the jumpline which is sweet but the last one, the inrun is a bit slow.

The jibs are setup really great right now, I love the jibonk at the end.

Halfpipe hasnt been cut in awhile so it kinda sucks.

Temperature finally warmed up to normal which is nice for a change.
 
It was dumping all day today, not just dumping a little bit, but literally puking snow. I've never seen it snow that hard up there for so long. It was pretty much raining in town but snowing hard up there. Tomorrow should be an epic powder day.

Unfortunately Chair one wasnt working today, but 4 and 5 opened up eventually so you could get to the top. Hellroaring was the shit today
 
Well unfortuanely i just left Big yesterday, but had a ton of fun this weekend. Great snow and good temperature. But damn it must be good up there today I am really choked i had to go back to work.
 
Yep, today was Epic.

Got tracked out really fast too.

It was snowing all day lightly, hopefully it picks up tonight.

This Winter is fugging ridiculous, so much Pow. It was really light blower snow too, so you didnt get stuck to much which is nice for a change. Visibility was great.
 
Yesterday was great, amazing powder once again.

And now Today it is dumping AGAINN like a freaking madman right now! Thank GOD Im not working this week!!! YEEEHAAWWW
 
Damn i wish i was still there for this weekend. The snow report looks amazing. Freshies all day. with more on the way booyah.
 
6 feet in the last week. i dropped sub for the first time on monday, probly could have landed, but didnt know what to expect so i landed and back checked. tj stomped it on thursday. tj 3d to land and back check on friday and i dropped it again on fri. haha my new favorite cliff. oh and its still DUMPING. im heading up to valhalla this weekend for my level 2 avy class, and to date theyve gotten just over 30 feet of snow. ill try to get some pix up if i have time.
 
damn you guys are so lucky. there is a female that wants me to come visit her up there i think i'm going to have to then remind her that there are no friends on pow days
 
how is everything as of now, im coming back this weekend and assuming the worst, considering its spring type weather here in helena?

what do we have for a park?

is it spring skiing yet? or am i going to have to go to church and thank god theres still some powder?

any intel will help.
