Well shit, I just got a new job for a surveying company and Im going to be gone for 4-6 weeks working non-stop not in Whitefish, so my season at Big Mtn has pretty much come to an end this year. Maybe I can catch the beginning of April for a day or two, hopefully. Oh well, I got about 40 days in so Im stoked :). The powder was so fucking sick this year. There was like 2 full weeks of face shots everyday, pretty insane.

My Plan is to hit up Moonlight and Big Sky this spring though cause I will be near there when I get done working and then hopefully a trip to Hood again in June.

The Park was actually pretty good this year at Big, alot more jibby than previous years. I bet it will be really pimp come spring time.

Good luck guys/gals, and Ill check back as soon as I can. This thread is always fun to look at.

the big jump line has finally been added to the park. There's about a 40 foot step down to a 50 foot table. The step down's lip is really flat but the table is really fun. Its not too lippy but really smooth. Here's a couple pictures from the second jump.

the bump in the middle is the alternate lip if you couldn't tell, and the tranny is way on the right. A ton of people were throwing down on it on saturday, I saw Logan do a big back over it and some tele guy doing misty sevens.

yeah. theres a jump line of three smaller jumps.. but these new jumps are a lot of fun. as trav said, particularly the second one. sooo smooth

Yeah that last one didn't feel too good on the tail bone and lower back. I landed a couple though so I was pretty stoked

like how big 20? 30? my hills biggest jump is like 15 ft. so i'd probably over my head with the 50 footers if they boost you high...

they probably range from 15 ft to 25 ft.... thats just a gues though im not exactly sure. but they sound about what you are looking for. the thrid one is still big enough to do decent and stylie tricks off of.

^^^thats a sick grab, I like the angle too. At school today gentry said he got a good shot of me but I have yet to see it

Holy shit. I go away to college and Big Mtn is blowing up. Dope grabs, both of you.

Thanks to Shane for all the filming and editing, I love that edit. Thanks for the props too, Alex.

I will be home the 21-30th of March, and I expect to be skiing basically every day.

whats up guys? I'm goin to big mountain for spring break next week, March 9 to the 15. Anybody that wants to show a midwest skier some sweet lines would be greatly appreciated. PM if youre gonna be there and feel like showin me around...

Today was pretty fun, it's nice spring conditions up there. The park is probably the best that i've ever seen it, tons of rails and some really sick jumps, probably my favorite park in montana right now. Also the natural terrain like inspo and stuff are in really good shape

wowie mowie the park is so amazing right now. The jumps are amazazing, and i love having sun shine beat down upon my face while im floating in air. Sadly there was a chunk of snow in one of the landings and my ski tip caught it, and i rolled over and contused my elbow.....day off then go up tomorrow. Props to all the kids throwing down.

Video Update!

https://www.newschoolers.com/web/content/videos/id/178129/

We'll be filming this week and next weekend. Hit us up if you see us in the park.

yo hows the park this year? i have a place at bottom of mountain and we're coming out in 2 weeks for spring break. who wants to meet up?

I think we will do something of that type. We'll see, but I will have all mid week to build stuff when you kiddies are in school, so expect something cool.

We should also do a night build if anyone is interested. Ride the lift up, hang out at radio towers until everyone goes down, then go build something epic in the dark and hit it the next day.

Does anybody hike the park after hours? I'm guessing that this is not encouraged by WFMR, but is anybody official close enough to the park to notice / put the kibosh on this type of activity?

We've done it before and never been told not too. The park crew takes a lap through and takes down fencing and stuff, and you'll probably see some groomers, but i'm pretty sure it's fine to do.

big mountain fella's im coming out next week. can i meet up with some of you and ski togheter kuz i dont feel like skiing with my mom and dad the whole time.

Watch what you are calling Big Mtn. Thems fighting words around here.

But you could probably go session it late if you wanted to, most likely the only thing that could happen is you would be asked to leave, but the security people are pretty lazy, so if you are a ways up there, they won't do anything because they don't want to have to walk that far.

Yeah, 'it's still Big Mtn to me' for sure. I was just taking a poke at the WFMR folks that opened 2 weeks late, closed a week early, and don't stay open til 4:30anymore, and thought they might be more uptight about somebody hiking a closed park.

I started construction of the step up today. I was starting the second shaping (the first one didn't have enough up), and ran into a tree in the middle of where I was digging it out. Turns out the tree was lying on it's side, and with a bit of rope, we can get it out of the way.

I am really hoping for some warmer temps so we can get this thing put together really well and hit it a bit.

We'll see about the hip this year, to do it we will have to move a boatload of snow.

So much drifted in snow on that section of Inspo. Absolutely ridiculous.
