exactly because the kids wouldnt be watching it. i meaan seriously, lets be honest, i would be willing to bet that 99% of parents dont care what hes saying, or when hes saying it, they just dont want their kids hearing anything but their point of view.
 
Again, being president of the harvard law review is not a position awarded for intellect. It basically just means the chief editor chosen by his peers. And it doesn't seem like he did much while he was there, if I'm wrong find me some works credited to Obama (and no I don't mean dreams of my father or audacity).
If he's so intelligent why is he so hell-bent on keeping all his shit secret, no one has provided me with a single answer to this question so I'll answer it. He got just as much of a ride on affirmative action as Bush did as a legacy. If you feel like you can provide me a more logical conclusion I'll be open to consider it. Look, people thought Bush was an idiot because of his public persona, the kind of stuff he said, and the grades were just one way of poking fun at him besides the "bush-isms". It was the same way with Dan Quayle. You say something stupid in front of a camera that the news thinks it can make into a cycle, it's played over a hundred times. They don't care who says it, they care if they can make advertising revenue by showing it repeatedly. That's why people think Bush is dumb. I never said Obama is an idiot intelligence-wise, if I did feel free to point it out, only that he was helped along significantly by affirmative action. If this is not the case then, like I've said, provide me with a logical explanation on why he keeps all his shit so securely under wraps when past presidents and nominees who are "not as intelligent as Obama" had that information available to the public.

Thread got hijacked there but just to clear a few things up.

From this post on no one will challenge Obama's academic record based on "Affirmative Action". I don't care how black you are, it does not guarantee good grades. Affirmative action might have made it possible for Obama to pay for college, but it did not get him grades.

You are shitting all over America and achievement when you marginalize someones academic record by attributing his success to favoritism and affirmative action and defend a man like Bush who's academic record is questionable and his attendance due mainly to his father being a legacy.

By all accounts and records Obama is intelligent. The reason you can't accept this is because you don't want to, not because it is not true. Also Al Gore is considered to be intelligent although socially awkward.

Health Care

What is wrong with the health care debate is that it is not a debate on health care. It is a witch hunt to try and destroy Obama. This type of attack has happened to every recent liberal president. The republicans want to shoot down everything yelling as much as they can that the government is trying to control your life.

Here are the facts of the argument. We have the wost health care system per dollar in the entire world. 60% of bankruptcies are attributed to health care bills. Despite the horror stories in every scientific study countries with socialized health care provide better care. Insurance companies do not have your best interest in mind. If nothing is done our country will collapse under the weight of health care.

We live in a representative democracy, you lost the election, you have the right to disagree with the president but nothing gives you the right to try and destroy the president for personal gain. The republicans fucked up the country. You got voted out get over you looser pussies, you are lucky Obama is even including you in running this country.

Obama is an affirmative action produced community organizer who has written two mediocre books. He was voted into the highest office in this country, with the least political experience of any presidential nominee in history, riding a bandwagon wave of stupid young voters intent on such ambiguos promises as "hope" and "change". I use to really dislike Hillary but at least she's far more pragmatic than he is. He's a con man who believes his own lies. For example, "government health care will be deficit neutral and, my favorite, if you like your insurance plan you can keep it".

you do realize that public school is free and that the government doesnt get any revenue from it, they actually put a lot of money into it so every kid can get an education. Monopolies are bad because the owner jacks up prices and has no opposition, sooooo yeah, public schools = not a monopoly

government jacks up price (taxes) people have few options for education. fun fact, there is something like 95k public schools in this country, while something like 28k private.

uninformed republicans started skwaking away about brain washing, when regean (in 88) and bush (in 91) addressed the nation's kids the same way. and obama's speech was already released and has no evil plans to convert america's schoolchildren into democrats, and simply encourages them to succeed and stay in school.

one party cannot attempt to accomplish anything without the other party attempting to put its nuts in a vise over the issue. our two party system is a failure.

To the right wingers, there was next to nothing in there that was pushing his political agenda. But on the other side of the coin, this speach isnt doing anything for our kids. People (espec socialists) like these sorts of things because it makes everyone feel good. I'm a less for feelings type person and a more results orientated person.
In 5 months from now when all the kids are writing finals they arent going to study more because Obama said so... thats just dumb.

he went on vacation to marthas vineyard a week or two ago. By the time his presidency is over, even if its just one term, he will prob be the most televised and photographed president ever.

He makes use of every media minute and story to push his agenda forward. He wants peopel to be on his side when they vote therefore every chance he gets he puts himself on your (the peoples) side. For example, he wears shity jeans because he is making a statement that he is just like every other american with shity jeans they like. He is all about the people, which is what lefties (socialists, liberals) all LOVE.
My beef is that he is the president, he isnt everyone else. All this bullshit press that builds his image is a waste of our time. I couldnt give a shit what jeans he wears, but I'd expect him to wear jeans that fit since the tax payers are hiring someone to dress him.

Grad school is a lot less grades orriented than getting into a bachelors program.
Most applicants are fully qualified for the program, and the Committee on Graduate Studies must select from among a large number of candidates who have excellent credentials. In evaluating applications, the Committee takes into consideration the applicant's grades and rank in his or her law and other university studies, letters of recommendation, occupational interests, professional and personal accomplishments, and other factors
They see your entire college history, what jobs you have had and what you have done. A 4.0 GPA with no extra curriculars or work experience is not going to be as saught after as a 3.0 who was on the student government, volunteered every week, and worked so many hours a week.
3.0's happen to amazing students for a reason. I took courses that interested me and challenged me for the sake of learning. I got a C- in Advanced Genetics for Biology Majors. I was not a Biology major and had not taken a biology course in 3 years. I got a C+ in a wine sommelier course. I got a B- in French and a C+ in German because I may not be great with languages but I love them. Yet
So don't say affirmative action unless you have applied for multiple grad schools and seen exactly what they look at in their applicants. And yes, going to school in indonesia and being raised by a single parent may help. But at the same it's Harvard, his parents aren't rich. He didn't buy his way in like I'm sure other politicians have.
Final statement, highschool, undergrad, masters.... none of them matter if you get a PhD. All that matters is your final graduation. and Summa is good enough for me.
