Oakley ripping us off?

I dont want to accuse oakley of making us over pay hey they need money too but you are actually paying about 2.5x the cost of what it should be

Wait....are you suggesting that this company is attempting to turn a profit by charging us MORE than it cost them to make, distribute, advertise, and sell the product?!?!?!?

i dont know if its because he completely abused it or not, but my friends oakley jacket got completely destroyed in one season. there were rips everywhere.

Same thing happened to my friends. Oakley doesn't make the best of quality outerwear. I wouldn't buy it because it looks and feels cheap.

The high end items last. I abuse the hell out of mine, and if you compare my Oakley pants to the cheap Siver one's I got at the same time, it shows. Looks more or less new.

Going out on a limb here but I think he might mean the price difference in Canada to the US with regards to Oakley. Goggles there cost around $180 and everything else has a price hike on too, way above the exchange rate.

the mark up on them is rediculious, on tramdock they have c bars not the illest ones but non the less c bars for 40 bucks, i saw tanners last years models for around 45 a few weeks ago, (should have picked them up) and for selling them for under 50 bucks every one from oakley to backcountry is still making a profit, so yes they are only that price becasue that is what people are willing to pay for them. IF every single person aggred that c bars arent worth the 120 bucks (non polarized) obviously the price would have to come down, its pretty simple., same iwith jiberish yes its good quality burt somethings only worth what you will pay fir it, if every said 94 bucks for a jiberish flannel is to expensive and didnt buy, jiberish would have to lower there prices to make sales, shits pretty simple

the only ridiculous markup is on oakley's outerwear

average goggles go for 90-120, similar to oakley's damn good quality goggles. they probably cost like a dollar to make in china but every single company (except jiberish clearly) has it set up so that they make a profit off of the items they sell, otherwise most things would be selling for very very little and every single company would go bankrupt

my siver gear is still holding strong after all these years.. if i gave them a good wash they would look good as new.
i know that you have to make a profit off what you sell, but in my eyes there is a line that is often crossed by alot of companies(not as in "you crossed the line, this means war" but as a marker) on one side you sell your gear and turn a small profit blah blah as you get closer to the line things get more expensive then eventually you are trying to figure out if you just dropped all that money for the name or what sometimes it makes me think that they mark the prices up so high just to see if people will buy it because they know at least one person will drop that kind of money and if just one person does then they make more then if 5 people buy the affordable clothes with a smaller profit margin. i just woke up so if that doesnt make any sense to anyone else then too bad.

To actually make a pair of Oakley goggles it costs less than $5, but the company puts a lot of their profits back into research to make better products. They hood up a lot of athletes too in several sports which goes with the whole advertising thing. No one would pay that much for their product if it wasn't worth it.

read your first line and then your last line.... and then read what i quoted and explain it to me please.

Thats basic retail, oakley is a big company and all big companies manufacture for a price then sell the gogles for a lot more, thats how you make a good profit. but thier nice goggles.

its not that bad, smith and spy are just as expensive actually the smiths i was looking at are 180, crowbars and splices are 140. a frames are even cheaper. thats the high end ones the other ones that are 90 arent that bad either.

idk why ur bitch ass is complaining just because u cant afford it and plus its worth every penny

and also when u buy a product the price set is based on cost of materails and manpower to make it, avertisement and shipping.

I love oakley stuff, great quality, and support the troops and made in USA.

but I hate my frogskins, they are the biggest pieces of shit I have ever owned. The gloss is already rubbed off after 15 days of use and they feel like something you would get in a mexican flea market for $2

I am talking with oakley customer service about the gloss issue, well see how they treat me

I'd think it was ok but we get pretty screwed in the uk on outerwear. They literally change the dollar sign to a pound sign and on some items they even wack on a few more pounds just to take the piss...

US Air Raid Jacket rrp $300 (Equivalent of £181)

UK Air Raid Jacket rrp £310 (Equivalent of $512)

wtf?

the only reason i get this brand is because i get deals through an oakley rep. so i get goggs for like 80 new and orderd and he also has saamples in his office that are way cheaper. but yea you pay about 30 -60% extra on what any other company would sell a poorly made t shirt or hoodie for just because of the logo. the rep even said all of the oakyey stuff other than the snow outerwear, sunglasses and goggles are made terribly.

This is like any company.

Suspects cost (with bindings too) $330 to make, meanwhile they retail for like 700? i dont know to be honest. Salomon probably makes $100 per ski selling them to retail stores then the stores themselves do the mark up to like 700$.

Im using the suspects as an example, this is the actual numbers behind it. Its the actual numbers for a different brand/model.

yaaaa tell us somethig new. it prop costs oakly 20$ for a pair of c-bars, they can sell them for 100$ easy, heck their sunglasses they make for 5-ten bucks in china then they sell them to some rich little kin in the us.

its the same with everthing, the computor im tuping on cost no were near 1200 to make but thats what it cost, its called capotlism man,
