Just made some of these, they look a lot nicer though.

For Mothers Day I made this recipe for shrimp alfredo with a little kick, turned out AWESOME.

Ingredients

12 ounces penne pasta

1/4 cup butter

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

1 onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 red bell pepper, diced

1/2 pound portobello mushrooms, diced

1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 (15 ounce) jar Alfredo sauce

1/2 cup grated Romano cheese

1/2 cup cream

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or more to taste

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup chopped parsley

Directions

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.

Meanwhile, melt butter together with the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in onion, and cook until softened and translucent, about 2 minutes. Stir in garlic, red pepper, and mushroom; cook over medium-high heat until soft, about 2 minutes more.

Stir in the shrimp, and cook until firm and pink, then pour in Alfredo sauce, Romano cheese, and cream; bring to a simmer stirring constantly until thickened, about 5 minutes. Season with cayenne, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir drained pasta into the sauce, and serve sprinkled with chopped parsley.

I wish Newschoolers could have a convention where every member brings their own specialty. All the food in this thread looks so good.

they look pretty damn good already, I wouldnt have put the tomatoes on before throwing it in the over tho..i've never liekd the consistency/flavor of tomatoes that have been heated that way

that cake looks fucking disgusting btw

I made a BLT and used a toasted everything bagel to hold it all together. Also made a batch of chocolate chip muffins that came out really well.

these girls in my spanish class just made a good ass cake for their presentation. ill post pic when i get home

why are men posting in this thread at all?....

I'm kidding ladies (;

I actually have 3 jobs and 2 of them are working in a kitchen/restaurant. My moms a professional cook so every night food is Jesus, for the most part, sometimes my dad cooks, that's when i choose draino as a drink.

I had this at a restaurant not too long ago - did you steal the idea from my post in the cult?? Hehe - its soooooooo fucking good.

Yes Mike - its exactly that. Grilled cheese with apple and bacon slices. It makes your toes dance.

On Saturday I made a grilled cheese with Brie and aged cheddar, stuffed with sautéed mushrooms and bacon. And the bread was French Toast. It was amazing, I'll try smoked Gouda soon since its my favorite cheese

Probably PMS... ;)

(yes Gus, I am implying you are in the PMS cult. COME AT ME BRO!)

avocado, pepper jack, mayo, sriracha.

best veggie burgers ever: can of black beans, mashed up with chopped scallions, red pepper, garlic, egg, instant oatmeal, cumin, hot sauce. form burgers; freeze 2+ hours; cook ~7 min per side; top with above condiment combo deliciousness.

fuck kraft singles.

The stuff is pretty good but I get annoyed these days when like every restaurant uses it as a dip for everything. I absolutely hate siriacha mayo with sweet potato fries. Need more creative sauces then that so repetitive.

I can't take credit for it, that's entirely ElGato's creating. I must say it's fucking delicious though.
