NS opinion on police in USA

No. You're wrong. The cop came up behind us and followedus the whole way over the Tappen Zee bridge. A tractor trailor flew by us. We did what you would do, drive the speed limit while cop is behind us.

I've been pulled over 5 times in 12 years of having a license. 3 warnings (driving without headlights, cutting a cop off while pulling into busy traffic, and speeding in a school zone on a Sunday morning)?and two speeding tickets. I was in the wrong all 5 times and deserved to be ticketed each time. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

I feel like these threads always turn into people complaining because they got caught doing something they shouldn't have rather than taking responsibility for their actions.

'They threw me in the drunk tank. I was hammered. I didn't do anything.'

'They pulled me over for driving the speed limit in the passing lane.'

'Found drug paraphernalia (stems, bowl, etc) and they searched my car and gave me a hard time.'

'Doesn't get ticketed/charged for having a pound or driving with expired lisence and gets the speeding ticket dropped, still mad.'

Local police are usually pretty lenient in my town but State Troopers are dicks, they're a bunch of young pricks straight out of the academy who will try to get you for anything.

Some crazy old guy (won't get into the story, it's too long), called the cops on me for literally walking on the street past his house with two friends because we were young teens who might be up to no good. Or have drugs.

Cops came, all we had on us was a couple Arizona iced teas and subs that we just got from a local restaurant. Made my friend call his fucking dad at 10:00 at night to come pick us up on a street thirty seconds away from his house. And ftr, we acted polite and courteous the whole time, it just doesn't work with dick cops. Before my friend's dad showed up, he said "You're dad better not come down here and give me attitude, or we're gonna have some real problems." completely out of the blue.

Mansfield is pretty bad, Foxboro is horrible on game days but only mildly bad other times. Sharon is much worse. Their police are the worst of any small town in the area, mainly because almost everyone who lives there is rich, so when they see a skateboarder or someone who looks like a teenager that might be up to no good, they key in on them. I've been literally stalked through Sharon by cops so many times. My friend got followed around Sharon after midnight for half an hour and then when he tried to cross the town line back into Foxboro they pulled him over. He wasn't doing anything wrong, but they called his parents to pick him up anyway.

Norfolk and Wrentham on the other hand, have really good police, and those are all the small towns I have experience with.

Why would I not slow down to the speed limit if a cop came up behind me? How could I get over when a tractor trailer was speeding and passed us? If you think you would keep speeding while a cop is behind you then I would have to guess you're trolling me.

It is not always about owning up to it. The cops can pick and choose in cases who they want to search and who they let go without question. I work for a police station and I see obvious cases when they target minorites. And I was a young kid with a license who was pulled over and the cops just search you. Probable cause. LOL get real.

fuck cops my rich and crime-free suburban town just doubled the force from like 13 to 26 or something like that and the cops already have nothing to do in the first except call in every officer on the scene when a party got busted or someone gets caught smoking. It seems like the biggest waste of tax payer dollars especially because theyre just gonna take more of your money and pull stupid bullshit on you

If you hadn't been douching it up in the left lane the trailer wouldn't have had to pass you in the right lane in the first place. By being in the left lane, you make cars pass in the right lane which fucks the flow of traffic and creates a dangerous situation. So again, cop was in the right.

i really only have a problem with the prick suburban cops who like to go to above normal lengths to find a great hiding spot and pull over people who go 6 mph over the speed limit so they can fund their donuts.
