NS Movie Update Sept 22

Hey NS,

I am in the final stages of editing and should be exporting the finished product tonight.

At this time, I am just waiting to have a voting system ready for the segments of the movie.

What you can expect:

-Article about the movie (movie included in the article)
-Webcast of the Movie
-Free download of the movie (tentative), We might charge a few bucks to download the High quality HD version
-A small amount of DVD's might be produced for distribution

I want to stress that the movie won't be the most amazing thing you've ever seen. But I believe it's the stepping-stone to the future of this concept.

NS Movie Volume 2

I am already discussing the possibilities for the next contest, NS Movie Volume 2 will be a much more well-rounded NS movie that will allow up to 30-40 riders/NS Members to be in the movie. We are also looking for new sponsors to help us out. I'll also need some help from people who can edit. The reason I didn't ask for too much help this year was because I only had a small amount of time to work with and I had absolutely no budget, next year will be very different.

You can expect to see info for volume 2 around November. We are going to standardize a lot of stuff, especially quality-wise. My strong suggestion is that you go out and buy an HD camera. I know a lot of people will be pissed about that, but we want to create a clean final product and quality is very important.

to get the low quality version, it will most likely be free, but to download a 1-2 gig video, we might have to charge a buck or two for the bandwidth
 
Something along those lines would be nice :

- HD only as you said

- Annoucing the contest early in the season with a super long delay so that people have lots of time to film with the hope of making the NS movie

- Release it during the off season so we have something to watch over and over before snow

Props for making such a sweet contest and can't wait to see the vol 1 !

Hahaha. I wish it was that easy.

Stoked on the movie, though. I'll be sure to download it. And definitely a plus to see that there's already a plan for Vol. 2.
 
Im selling my old hd camera with a telephoto, wide angle, and fish eye lens. Thats about 3500 dollars worth of equipment selling for 800 or top bidder.
 
Additionally, props need to go to the editors, filmers, and skiers who provided the raw product for this thing. It wouldn't be right to neglect them.

Can't wait to see it.

damn i was thinking about entering next year but i cant drop the $$on a HD camera. but i understand that there has to be some quality standards
 
umm, it was supposed to be done for IF3...i think a big shout out needs to go out to all the filmers for donating their footage and putting together the segments.
 
^ ya dude, exactly. I mean props to dave for getting all this together, but all of us editors fully edited all our parts and submitted them to him for ever ago, I'm not exactly sure what he's doing thats taking so long....

I was super bummed that he couldn't get it together for IF3, that would've been sick to have the movie play there
