NS Movie Update Sept 22

Oh and i cannot wait for the movie, my friends 21st birthday is then, i dont know which of the two im more excited for, him being able to buy for our parties, or the NS movie

 
Yeah, it just wanna see a little part of the final product, as a tease, with the music and all, at least some par of the intro
 
because we can put a poll in the article where you can vote for your favorite segment

also, think of all the people that dont go into the forums/watch the webcasts, by having it on the front page as an article, we can have a much much bigger audience

It is unreasonable. Unless you are selling HD disks, a regular cam does the job just as well. For computer screens, it doesn't look that much worse, and most DVD players for HD televisions (and I believe most HD televisions in general) up-convert, and it generally looks fine.

Let's see some of your graphics and photography.. because all I can see that you produced is a couple of bad pictures and a very badly photo-chopped picture of some sort of skank.

Does a good camera make you a good photog? Everyone in the legitimate art world knows that it's not your equipment, but how you use it, and that's how people can use pinhole cameras and take better pictures than people with 20D's.

Sex sells? "that's what guys want to see" ? No, good design sells. cliches sell to those who are subject to being entertained by cliches, and aren't going to help you in any sort of design "portfolio". Craft is even more important... because even if you can't make money as a creative, you can make money as a production artist. I would look into improving your technical skill and craft quality too.

And so you turn this into a business, great? are you doing so by cutting under the prices of legit designers and photogs to secure contracts? I hate to say this because it sounds snobby, but if you aren't making at LEAST 30 dollars an hour (and then claiming cheap pricing because you are "a student) then you are short-sheeting the entire design world, and de-legitimizing the value of our trade. I don't know if anyone's told you that before.

and DAMN do I feel like an asshole. I don't like to rip on people who are trying, even if they aren't making anything I personally like... but you just have a way of showing your high-horse ego off in a way that makes me so angry. I can't ignore it when you get into a subject that i am basing the rest of my life and my livelyhood on.
 
You think that I would post my portfolio on NS? Good thinkin'. Whatever I post on NS is for NS...only.

I whipped that "Swedish Skank" graphic up in about five of your earth minutes. I wouldn't call it quality at all. In fact it's not even in my portfolio.

I charged up the ass for pictures. People around where I live don't shop around for photographers so I took advantage of the situation.

I don't own a camera. I used my "boss'" 20D for the professional stuff. I have used a shitty Kodak for professional stuff before too. The pictures came out the same because I am good at taking photos. BUT I would MUCH rather take photos with the 20D just because the pictures come out way better a majority of the time.

I would hardly what I have under my belt as professional as a Vogue photographer, but I have professional experience and I got paid. I was only 17 when I was in the business. I don't do it professionally anymore because well...I can't afford it, and I would rather do other things.
 
BTW I'm done posting in SG on this subject so take it up with me over PM, and I will gladly talk to you about my experience as a photographer.

And yea, I'm not going to let you off by sending PMs. Your head is too far up your ass for any of this to make a difference, I just enjoy knowing other people might get something from it.

 
I actually was doing a Photoshop tutorial on good-tutorials.com, and I posted it on NS because I used it in a thread somewhere like that Napoleon graphic. It actually isn't in my portfolio, because it isn't needed...at all...it was just for fun. Also, this is NS, I don't expect much from ya'll so why would I want to post my art on NS? There is no point. It's all on my Mac and in my portfolio...that's it. Why do you care what my portfolio looks like anyway? I think all you need to know it that it's good enough to money...which it has.

Why would you want to post your art on NS? I don't know, I've only done a small amount that's applicable to skiing. it doesn't really matter to me. However, I STILL don't know why you would post art you consider BAD on NS, or less than good, no matter what the purpose is.

If you really want to know why I care, it's because you roll around NS on your golden pedestal, as if your opinion is the end all, and although I don't know as much as any of your political enemies do, I have a funny feeling that you don't have a portfolio to back up your statements here.

Good enough to make money doesn't mean shit. Lots of people I know make money on art and design that is undoubtedly horrible.

Whatever, I'm done making myself look like an asshole for your sake. Have fun stewing in your over- inflated ego.

I suck at life. That Swedish blonde is my best Photoshop work, along with Napoleon. I need to stay in the kitchen. I actually don't have a portfolio at all. It's actually all gay porn.
