Ns find me a car sub!

title says it, looking for a 12 inch car sub and i dont know wat to get, under $100 dollars would be good, doesnt have to have a box with it but it would be better

go

what he said. youre also going to need to drop some more on an amp for it, so you might as well spend a little extra for a nice sub and amp.

if you wanna end the thread at least say type x, type r aint shit compared to the type x.

but no sub under 100 will be that good, get a job and buy memphis, kicker, alpine

your going to get a shitty sub for under 100.

plus your probably going to need to get a new amp. and wiring for the amp.

you might as well just save up because your goin to end up spending around 300. you might also either a. need a new control unit or b. get a new one so you can crank your tunes higher broooo

ummmm. what kind of amp. how many watts, and whats the rms.how many channels does the amp have. what kind of head unit do you have.all of this matters. also, what kin of car, and how big is the trunk. is the trunk too big.

The Alpine for sure, mid to low end kenwoods tend to not be as good, whereas the alpine will knock.

my friend just got two 12's in his car with the bassworxs box or whatever is called.

I don't even like listening to dubstep anymore unless im in his car. its fucking nuts how much those things pump. intrested in hearing the type x like that other guy said

I used to always bang 12s, but i got two of these 10's and they hit so hard for a good price. There comp subs on wholesale pricing.http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_19180_SoundStorm_STS10D.aspx
Hooked up to this 2500watt amphttp://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_21017_SoundStorm_F22500.aspx
It bangs! This is the second time ive had them, first time i only had a 1500watt amp to it and it still hit pretty hard.
They also have that brand with a 12'' but iv never personally heard it. That sites also got all your favorite best buy, or circuit city subs.

My freind has an X 12", it's absolute insanity as far as consumer subs go, the thing is shaking his Tacoma to pieces.

This, plus, what kind of music do you listen to? 12" may sound cool, but 10" or even 8" might be better depending on your style of music.

he knows his stuff- and if anyone else says buy a type r again im going to slap them- such shitty subs- better off saving your 100 and spending it on hookers- you will get more satisfaction from then that piece of shit

compared to what?- they work fine- but dear god in the same price range you can find much better that dont have a history of magnets overheating- they are mass produced out the ass and because of that they can have faults just because alpine will replace them-

on a sound quailty level holy shit do they suck- way too sloppy- they also have no timbre to their sound at all- short freq range- just bad
no offense but anyone who knows anything about car audio will look at a type r or type s and giggle- unless they are sponsored by alpine- but lets be real they would probably have type x's anyway-

i sold my old set up, two 12's in a box with an amp for $80 on craigslist, check there for some deals

Compared to what some people will buy in that price range, there's better, no doubt. But for someone like the OP who clearly isn't a car audio guru, and probably doesn't want a competition system, a type r will be great.
I think your being a little extreme in your assesment, just because they aren't the best out, doesn't mean they are "shitty"

hahaha i love all of the responses in this

I am not looking for the best sub out there in any way, or the most powerful one, i am not intending to replace my speakers so i dont want a sub that will tune them all out. i just want it to sound decent, kid at my school spent $3000 on his system with 2 15" subs and 4 amps, and you cant hear anything else besides the subs, thats not what i want, no im not an audio guro but im not an idiot either, i dont want to spend that much on a sub because i dont feel that it is worth it to get one that sounds similar for half the price, there are other things i would rather spend my money on

thanks for those who have helped, and thanks for the laughs to those who have tried to help
