Honestly, there's no need to worry. The only way they could ever hit us was if they smuggled it into the country. Our missle defense systems are way too efficient just to take out an a-bomb.
 
how come its ok for the us and a to have nukes but not anyone else? reminds me of a movie called team america. sure its not good that they have nuclear capicity given their volitile situation but america needs to realise that they don't rule the world also
 
I am not too worried about the US. The North Koreans can't really do shit to us, so we won't end up doing that much.

but think of it in a Global perspecitve. Now the Japanese are flippin shit. They might try and become nuclear capable. Then the South Koreans will want to become nuclear capable as well. This is going to piss the Chinese off all to shit. Things could just get really scary in that sense

My hope - China and Japan need to work together and resolve the issue. They are the two most powerful countries in the area and this situation pisses both of them off. The South Koreans are nothing in the minds of the N. Koreans, so they really wont matter much. But Japan and China, hopefully, will be able to deal with and resolve the situation.

Either way, anything involving Nuclear weapons should scare anyone.
 
It isnt just the US being angry here. The other countries in the area are much more pissed off and have much more to loss than the US.
 
Hate to break it to ya but our "missle defence system" is pretty much non existenctnat. The only successes were had in extreamly controled situations with pre programed trajactory and even then there were missess.

I wouldednt be too worried though, I would be extreamly worried with two pacifists like G Dub and Kimmy boy we are in for a real show. Remember we have "A war President" We might just get a war this time instead of in Bum fuck Iraq right in our own back yards.

Here is how this could turn into a good thing for the US: China, Japan and South Korea all start to put pressure on North Korea to disarm. North Korea says fuck no and starts to feel thretened by those countries, they attack China and desemate chinas millitary capablities quickly in a pre emptive strike. The Chinnese then need another Nuclier power to back them up. The US says yes if the chinese agree to forgive all US debt that they own and then the US walkes in and destroys the shit out of North Korea. and no longer owns hundreds of billions of dollers to China. and china is no longer a growning economic threat to the US, it would be great for the US and horrible for the world.

Wow, just wow. First of all don't even act like you know anything about the military developments in this country. Nobody knows, but there has been video and many tests (civilians allowed to witness) on this subject. Obviously it's going to be a controlled situation...IT'S A TEST. They don't want to use any real nukes, but they made it as real as possible. You're thinking way too far back to the 80's tests. Recent ones have been perfectly sucessful and have a good probability to work in a situation with unknown variables.

We have rocket scientists and some of the smartest people in the world working on this system, I'm pretty sure they know what they're doin a hell of a lot more than you.

I hate to say it, but this world needs a war. Obviously I don't want the US to be in it, but planet earth can't even suppourt this many people. Wait until countries like China and India have fully developed and they are consuming 3 times the resources we are. Let me tell you right now, there's not enough. There will be wars over food and water. The worst thing is fighting an enemy with nothing to live for.

With a population 5 times what the US has. In a fair ratio, N America and europe still consume the most resources per person.

China and india consume a lot, but there population also many time larger so they actually get less per person.
 
Like I said, wait until they ARE fully developed and have the ability to get what they want. Believe me, you're going to see a lot of everyday resources become scarce in the next 10 years. Wait until there isn't enough water for everyone to drink, or enough food for everyone to eat.

None of this changes the premise of mutual assured destruction for major nuclear powers. North Korea just tested a bomb that was 1/12 the power of the Hiroshima bomb that we used 61 years ago. So they could destroy what? Fisherman's Wharf? One quarter of the front side of Vail? At worst a major sports stadium? And if they did attack the US or any US interests, North Korea and all the people in it would cease to exist.

Yeah they have the technology to develop bigger bombs, but they know we could destroy them 2 million times over. As far as I am concerned, the biggest threat here is the "Team America" scenario of North Korea supplying nuclear weapons to some sort of terrorist organization. But if they do and there is even a hint of suspicion that they were involved we will make it so that no living organism will live in North Korea for a few thousand years.

All that the world needs to do to North Korea is ignore them. Leave them alone, stop giving them food, and they will shut the hell up and realize the glorified third world power that they are.
 
Mitch is right, Kim Jong il may be insane, but he's not stupid. He's not going to risk Norh Korea becoming a scorched earth policy. It's a lot more fun to threaten people than to actually fight an uneven war.
