Nick Geopper - Home/Perfect North (Video)

No matter what this kid does, NS will always tear him apart. I personally thought it was great skiing and an overall great edit.

But that could be because I grew up on that mountain

I want to try an experiment. Get Nick, take away his red bull helmet, replace his skis, give him slightly baggier pants, then film an edit with him. And then have him post said edit under a different name. NS would collectively jizz themselves.

I can only see one problem, if you give him baggy pants he will be able to conceal his rocks in them and it would be dangerous for everybody in the park.

so true

You have to be very immature to hate on Goepper... This was a great edit.

I still like to poke fun at his rock incident though.

Although it is Nick Goepper... It was a pretty well put together edit. He didn't look like a robot either.

Holy shit are you people kidding?

That edit was fire. Music wasn't great, but if that dropped without the name Nick Geopper NS would've sucked it's dick, hard.

I posted in the video comments, but these are my basic thoughts.

I wasn't a huge fan of this edit.

Was the filming well done? Sure, some great long lens stuff, drone shots were nice (especially the line through all three jumps) overall they crushed it. Editing? Not so much, the color was different in basically every shot, with this much time and effort they took to produce this product, not to mention the money that was probably tossed around, the overall color was completely botched. The song is a whole different issue that I have, but now we're just getting subjective.

These days its tough to define what makes a "good" edit. Good filming? Good editing? music, sound etc this edit screamed overproduced to me and the post production was handled in a sloppy way for the apparent production that was behind it. I also feel like nick was limited with the smaller park which caused for this edit to be extremely underwhelming for me. That's just my $.02

Speaking as the average viewer with little to no editing experience, I measure an edit on the level of the skiing, the flow of the edit, and what I like to call "The Hype Factor".

I felt the level of the skiing in Nick's edit was obviously very good. I felt he threw a wide variety of tricks with excellent style. His tweaked grabs were excellent. I also felt that he showed some rail variations you don't normally see from a competition skier like him. I thought the skiing was difficult, stylish, and creative.

As for the flow of the edit, I didn't much care for it. The plane shots added an odd break in the edit and I didn't feel a momentum shift that, retrospectively, I'm assuming it was meant to induce. I didn't like the music either. I don't have the same eye for the visuals as you do, but I wouldn't call it a well-produced edit. That said, I also wouldn't call it a poorly produced edit. It's clear a great amount of $ and time were put into it, but they just missed the mark.

As for the ever elusive "Hype Factor" (HF), this edit got me fairy hyped. Let's call it a 6 out of 10 on the HF. The HF is a combination of all of the above and what sort of feeling that induces. Am I lukewarm about the edit, or am I on the edge of my seat? For instance, Deadkind was a 9.99(repeating)/10 HF. The skiing was excellent, but not exactly the most difficult. The music was a perfect match for the style of the skiing and the flow of the edit was just unreal. Whoever was behind the lens and the computer screen knocked it out of the park, and the ball hasn't even landed yet. Will I go back and watch it again? Over and over. Will I go back and watch Nick's video again? Maybe.

That was rather long-winded, and I apologize.

I don't know.. Pretty good... Pretty boring.. Pretty meh... No story, just:

"hello I'm Goepper... Do you see this bag of tricks? It good because it is big folks... Right? right??"

wtf, since when do edits require to have a fucking story? It was well shot and his skiing was fucking ill, that's what matters

nah we know robots when we see them

Seriously? Worst edit I've ever seen. Hate this kids robot style. just cause you have a big bag of tricks doesn't mean you have to make a video. If only he had baggy clothes damnnnnn. But seriously a plane? Who's does he think he is brain farm? This ain't art of flight people. That park was wayyyyy too small too. I wish it was Breck. And that helmet? So lame robot. This video suck. Go have another dating competition. And seriously the music? I would rather watch 2 robots have sex on top of a pile of sprocket wrenches and broken record players. Skiing isn't gymnastics. Moar blunt grabs and afterbang please. Steve Stepp is my favorite skier.

So much $$$ paid for this video. Red bull probably spent billions. Damnit. If only skiing had other cooler pros for kids to look up to. Why can't skiing be more like skateboarding and skiers drive lambos like nyjah. At least they would be cooler.

Didn't even have a single rock in it either.

Haha you're actually 12. Fuck off. Ever see Nick in person? Don't you dare answer yes because you wouldn't be shit-talking if you have. The amount of hate Nick gets on here is ridiculous. He fucking kills it. Not to mention, he's a great guy. If he really wanted to, he could easily make an edit of himself doing butters and tailpresses. Then all you 12 year olds who have a hard on for Dollo would bust a nut.

Would've loled so hard if Gus posted something like this in response to him photoshopping. Quality ns humor

Slow your roll cuddy the kids were just looking for something fresh like maybe an underbonk, some spring breakers ;) and a cameo of Snoop Dogg snowboarding around Perfect North

Actually no. you know what fuck you. why you gotta bring this into skiing. not everyone has to like your little edit, now your just pouting cuz not all of us liked it. quite being butthurt and go do something. And whats wrong with blunt grabs and afterbang? there's more to skiing than the way you do it nicky. So quite being butthurt and appreciate different styles of skiing.

I think you're the butthurt one here kid

The fact that you felt the need to post the same comment in another feed kills me. You're eheath, not some fucking troll, act like it. To go to this extent to talk shit on someone edit kills me. You're looking like a wash up that realizes he's got competition. Was a huge fan of yours...no more. Sorry homie, gotta chill on the critic shit. This is skiing, not the fucking academy awards.
