NHL Players React to LeBron's Leg Cramp

if it affects your ability, not only are you hurting yourself, but you could be affecting your team negatively, just saying

As I recall he was pretty damn close to dying. I forget how much blood he lost all together but at the rate he was losing it he definitely wouldnt be alive if it wasnt for that player that stopped it.

He broke his career. That hit was the end of him as a player. That's what hockey is about right there, he actually put the last of what he had into that series. Came up short but no one will ever forget that, least of all his teammates.

Not even man. There are dudes who can take Chara. Even Thornton might be a better pick on the B's. Lebron vs. John Scott. Lebron vs. Rick Rypien... RIP

the fact that you are all talking about a cramp as if it hurts a lot havent had a cramp, huh? its not that it hurts, its that your muscles shut down on you...and it hurts.

try playing with your leg, ankle or hip completely locked up and unable to move...and in bad pain?

cramps have nothing to do with how tough you are.

Sure, Lebron could kick my ass but that doesn't make him any less of a whiny bitch. People that need to draw fouls the way he blatantly does, don't deserve to win a championship, no matter how much talent they have. The NBA has steadily become less and less interesting to watch. I'm pretty fucking close to giving up watching it altogether.

Buck Shelford, an All Black in 1986, was caught at the bottom of a rather aggressive ruck, and an errant French boot found its way into Shelford's groin, somehow ripping his scrotum

and leaving one testicle hanging free. He also lost four teeth in the

process. After discovering the injury to his scrotum, he

calmly asked the physio to stitch up the tear and returned to the field. He was then concussed 20 minutes later.

The mans a legend in New Zealand..

you can't over exaggerate when you see time and time again hockey players at any level out playing their injuries instead of whining about them.

Soccer players get leg cramps all the time and still play. Leg cramps aren't a big deal once they are done. I had two massive leg cramps in my both my calfs at the same time around a week a go and they hurt like a fucker. Afterwards it still hurt but I feel if i were playing a game I would still play with no bitching about it.

I'll just re-post what I said before. Leg cramps can be completely debilitating. It's a lot like back spasms. If you've never had them bad before, you just don't understand what it's actually like.

"There's no doubt that hockey players play through injury (the intelligence of that is for another discussion), but in my opinion, talking shit about Lebron is extremely tacky. It makes they look immature and jealous.

I believe that some of you have never fully experience a full-on serious hamstring cramp. After a day of basketball when I was younger, my right hamstring cramped up so hard it actually tore fibers. I ended up with the worst looking bruise of my life that went from my right hip all the way down to below my knee. I guarantee that no athlete, in any sport, would just play through something like that."

Like the person who posted above me just said real hamstring cramps are completely debilitating. Like I have gotten a few after soccer games and I just fell to the floor grabbing my leg. Like if someone offered me a million dollars to continue to play in the game while I was cramping like that there is no way I could physically do it. O yea there is a huge difference between having a calf cramp and cramp in your hamstring.

Yes once the cramp subsides you can start playing again, even tho its sore as shit, I am sure most people in high school sports have done this. But if they continue to happen again while you're on the field I just don't know how you could physically continue to play.

this is true of pros. but my high school team could have played hockey with the injuries we played through.

i played a semi final game with a sprained ankle that was the worst my trainer had ever seen, a partially torn ligament in my hip and other ankle, a broken arm in three places and a broken nose. i also got a pretty bad concussion at the start of the game but played through it. all in the same game. didnt complain once

my friend played in a game with two severely sprained ankles, a freshly repaired acl and mcl, a torn Achilles a broken wrist and dislocated shoulder on the same arm

a kid i played tennis with played the entire season on a broken tibia and didnt tell anyone because he didnt want to bother them

countless other stores like this

^ Kariya, what a beaut.

lebrons a bitch though.

no athlete pound for pound is tougher than a professional hockey player.

those guys are in, fuckin, sane.

You ever read the injury reports that get released after the playoffs? Hockey players play through brutal shit, broken feet, broken hands, torn ligaments etc. cause it's hockey,

And one more thing, Kevin bieksa last season took a slapshot in the foot on one of his first shifts of a game, broke his foot, played the rest of the game with some of the highest minutes on the team. Lebron is a PUSSY BITCH

Taking a shot off the foot and playing is one thing. In 2007, Ryan Kesler returned early from labrum surgery so that he could play in the playoffs. In the first game, in overtime, he blocked a shot with his hand. The result was a dislocated and broken index finger that meant he couldn't hold his stick or fit his hand in his glove. The trainers told him that he needed surgery.

So he told them to cut his finger off.

Fortunately they were too responsible to actually listen.

I am racing the Cycling National Championships this week with a broken hand and wrist. Just need to tough it out for the week and then get a cast after

I'm surprised no hockey player has chimed in on how common a leg cramp is. Getting a dirty hit knee to thigh while coming in full speed. Not to mention the most used muscle in hockey are the quads (If you've played any competitive hockey, you'll know you grow these gorilla thighs). Basically sprinting for a whole shift.. You get used to playing through cramps.

And to whoever was talking about lebrons fitness compared to that of an average hockey player. You're totally right. Basketball players are much bigger and stronger. Although I can guarantee you hockey players have much more dedication to the sport. Basically the only way to make the NHL is hard work. In Basketball you can just be naturally talented. Putting in less work and still the other guys won't even begin to be as good.

I'm biased of course, still playing through a cramp is something that should be expected of a professional athlete. Especially considering he makes 16 000 000 a year. Lebron is still a beast, just I hate seeing that out of athletes. Makes me ashamed I used to play soccer.

are you dumb? a charlie horse is a result of someone/thing hitting you in a sensitive spot. a cramp is caused by your muscle seizing up.

case in point...

you can't throw with a blister its not a matter of pain tolerance, pitchers spend years working on their grip and even the smallest amount of change can fuck everything up

NBA players play with broken fingers all the time and Kobe is literally the worst example they could have used

Soccer is gay but turf toe makes it physically impossible to run, idiots see "toe" and think "thats so small, it couldnt possibly hurt that much"

getting hit in the face doesn't really affect your ability to perform

^ LOL..most retarded post i've seen on NS

getting hit in the face with a fucking hard plastic puck that can travel at triple digit speeds doesnt affect your ability to perform?? Jesus christ...

I'll agree with you about the NBA players with broken fingers being a bad example..those dudes have the worst fucking fingers ever theyre crooked as shit, constantly jammed/dislocated and swollen and often play night in and night out through the pain

Turf toe does not make it impossible to run, difficult and painful yes, but out of all four of those injuries listed its probably the easiest to play with..tape your toe and run.. unfortunately most soccer players at the professional level have huge vaginas

fuck baseball players though..gigantic fucking pussies never play through anything

This argument is silly however, rugby players are by far and away the toughest

RugbyShirtBIG1.jpg

Grown ass full size men teeing off on one another at full speed with zero padding..that shit is just bone on bone collisions

the thing about soccer is that the level of exhaustion the players are facing is unparalleled by any other sport, except maybe for marathon running. those guys are dead sprinting with almost no pause for 90 minutes, sometimes covering over 10 miles per game. at that point your body is so over stressed that even the slightest injury can put you on the ground so easily, and once youre down youre so exhausted its difficult to get back up.

the one thing about rugby is that there are very rarely HUGE hits like in the NFL. Very rarely are two players running directly at each other, there is a lot of lateral movement and diagonal hits compared to straight head on collisions. With that said they are still badasses

Even in high school hockey we play through that shit. not just professional players. I got hit so hard by some kid that weighed 250 of pure muscle and my whole forehead just split. Got stitches in between periods and played the rest of the game. One of my friends broke his collarbone the first game of the year. Eventually broke his other collarbone and an arm and still played every fucking game. Granted that kid must have a huge pain tolerance, that's still pretty unreal

haha no.. nonstop sprinting for 90 minutes? not even close. Have you actually ever watched a soccer game? Watch the players away from the play, they are barely jogging if that. Midfielders have to be in pretty damn good shape, but for the rest of them not so much
