Newschoolers has become so gay recently. Skiing is selling out. If you take a look back at freeze and powder about 5 years ago, and then look at todays mags, skiing has become so lame. I swear to christ, 90% maybe 85% of u guys on hear, are so obsessed with your fashion, that u dont even car about the simple act of skiing. If you look at the clothing styles that skiing has gone through, back in da good days, people were just out there, throwin it down, pioneering new tricks and not giving a fuck if they had the newest gear or "da sickest steeze" You can also follow this change on this site. This is a god damn skiing site, and when the non-ski gabber forum has more posts than the ski gabber, you can tell this place is all about how cool u are. That same percentage of u that are so obsessed with fashion cant even ski. You lap the park all day. I once saw this guy who defined the average, "steeze out da neeze" skier. He was in our mini park, where the tables are at most 15 ft, he just goes and hucks a cork 7. I was like wow, that was probably the gayest thing i have ever seen, and it just made me realize that a lot of you are just like this guy. He stayed in the mini park workin on cork 7's when he could of gone and done them off a fuckin cliff. Skiing will get to the point where everyone will be doing the same tricks in da park, wether its a blindside 360 switch up or some switch cork 10 reverse blunt. i will say this is skiing to an extent, but what r u really doing, pointing it at a jump and then just throwing ur body, thas initial what ur doing, where as you could go ski a line and huck a cork 7 off a cliff. If skiing keeps gettin pushed this direction, there will be no where for it to go, we will all just end up doing the same damn thing. Im just speaking my mind, but seriously grow some balls and go ski a line, or huck a trick off a cliff, u'll c how much more badass a trick is off a cliff. But all im sayin is this site is gay, and i know some chumps will greatly disagree with me, but remember, how can u be the best when u do exactly the same thing everyone else does? thas not style, thas conformity to an extent. but whatever, u guys are the cool cats, psh

Not really. He's right. This site's forums took a year-long downfall to mediocrity some time after the 30,000th member registered. Sad, too, because the guys in charge have done so much to spiff the place up... but it's nothing without the right members, and the "85% of you are jackasses" rating is probably pretty accurate.

I don't understand why your so upset.

Nonski gabber has so many posts because summer is long, and people have other stuff to talk about. If you looked at the threads, hardly any of it is about ski fashion. I don't care about ski fashion. I have $25 convert pants froma coulmbia outlet store, an ugly ass blue columbia jacket from another outlet store. I have skis, duct tape gloves and $75 boots from ebay. Not everyone cares what they wear. Granted, I can't do cork 7's like you, but I ski the park becuase that's what's available to me. I live in atlanta, I can't ski big lines. If I could, I would no matter what, but I have to settle for the park in NOrth Carolina. I think that you should consider other that live in the east or midwest that don't have the same opportunities to ski lines like you can.

Also, as for the mags, and stuff, the pros care a little too much about ski fashion, but tis' not like they care more about that than progression. Sage is taking tricks to cliffs and lines, and pep just did a line switch, so it's not like progression is stopped because of ski fashion. Also, in the mini park, maybe those were that kids first cork 7s. Maybe he was comfotable enough to bring them to bigger tables or a cliff. I think you should try to consider other scenarios before you judge people.

skiing has not changed for me. I still enjoy it Ill still do it. I dont care what other people are wearing. I just want to be comfortable and warm (looking cool is a plus.)

if you get worked up over people wanting the latest cloth it shows that your more interested in that type of stuff than you think.

just ski dont bother with others looking cool on thse slopes is their thing your not into that fine no need to complain about it. their not spending your money, the price of your lift ticket isnt getting more expensive because of it. and their not that big of an eye soar.

if your talking about seing tons of threads on these forums. when were on these forums since we cant ski we talk about skiing in general, our gear is part of it and something most of us are proud of.

every little prick goes out and buys a snowboard and trys to act all tuff and cool. They stay in the park all day and try and be as badass as possible(ex i saw a snowboarder at gore wearing noo shirt, with big baggy pants and a DAngLA and he sucked balls.

well, to put it into perspective a bit:

it is a skiing site, so ski gabber has a lot of posts and maybe should have more than NSG. however, i think skiiers like to talk about other things than skiing, especially when having leasure time on the internet, and the fact that SG has almost as many posts as all other topics combined in NSG is a pretty good sign as to wether we talk about skiing or not.

also, ski for yourself. if people want to ski in the park, let them, if thats what they enjoy doing, if you don't fine, that is your choice, respect his.

ski for fun, and let others do the same.

i totally support this guy, and many of the originators of new school will say the same. Like the Douglas, Shocs, Pollard, Dorion and others. These are people that most of the people on this site don't even know. Who cares i you have armada skis, who care if you have joystick poles, who cares if you have the latest oakley jacket. Skiiing, is all about the ride, the sound it makes when those edges dig into that snow. When you get that perfect 3 down thats what skiing is all about.

If NS was so cool back in the day, why your two screen names have a grand total of 149 posts, 2 pictures (both the same thing BTW), and 5 short clips (all posted in a span of 8 days). From the look of it, I’d say you have barely used this site (from a contribution standpoint). Why are you complaining? Has your reading material gone south?
