Newschoolers vs. ReJib

im already bored. there really is nothing to do and if the site really grew, shit would move so fast you would never really get to see most the content

Joined, no doubt ill be on NS alot more, but the concept is interesting and frankly way different than the NS forums for example. Maybe it could be cool? I dunno.

pretty sure they banned my email address because i can't login anymore... all i did was ask if NSFW pictures were allowed

I made an account yesterday and I think I like it. I will come to NS more but ReJib seems like a pretty different site so I think I will be using both. Also I don't understand why people are trying to "troll" the site when most of the users are probably on NS to.

This definitely has a lot of potential but needs a little tweaking. stoked to see where this goes

inb4 eheath has 40k posts on ReJib

also I made an account, so it'll be an OG account in 10 years. then I'll sell it to someone who wants an OG account.

Ok come on... I mean I'm all for competition but you gotta get some of your own ideas.

Upload an image and you might make Front Page? At least be a bit more subtle.

I can totally see where they are coming from deleting all the negative hate and other crap popping up there. You have to remember that when people do it here most gets burried almost instantly, but when you only have a couple hundred posts it is a lot more visible.

Play nice for now!

It seems a little too social-networky. The last thing I'm going to do is keep track of yet another one.

Lol they are obviously stealing a lot of their ideas from newschoolers. The way i see it, ReJib is more of a "skier profile" website, where you actually represent yourself as a skier under your own name whereas newschoolers is more of an anonymous news/ discussion website. I will always find better news on newschoolers because all the rejib news is posted by the users themselves and nobody compares to schmuck when it comes to staying on top of the news. I feel like i am also watching a lot of older edits which is kind of cool but it is just different from newschoolers.

Expand on what you mean by 'really integrates the skiing community'. I'm very curious on this, as frankly our cult system needs some work.

It really wouldn't work for NS. It works because content posted on crew pages shows up on your "wall", instead of being tucked away ona cult page

Crew's have their own category and people can request to join them. This allows them to post in the group (videos, pictures, posts, etc.), as opposed to Newschoolers, where crews are something you just list on your profile. You can create a crew on NS but it is essentially the same as a member; no one can join it or post in it (besides the person who runs it). Rejib is pretty much a combination of Facebook and NS and I actually kind of like it. Yeah. Just my opinion

I really like this site. It has a lot to it. There's a lot more you can do on it I think than we realize. Everyones feed is different depending on the crews and communities you are in. The whole reJib idea is so sick and original. I can basically keep all my favorite videos on my profile now kind of like pinterest. Also the Buy Sell Trade is sickkk.

Hahahaha... internet marketing fail.

Anyway I think the site is well put together but imo Newschoolers as a platform has always been just a vehicle for the ski community. This place could be a vbulletin board circa 2004 and still be skiing's online community because everyone in skiing is here. So as much as I actually like the new NS update (and I do), it's sort of status quo for me either way.

That being said, the biggest upshot of all of this for me is that we can do that thing we used to do years back, where if you got banned we just redirected you to ski.colonies. Now we can just redirect people to this new site!

Aha it's weird. The only thing I really like about it is the ease and capability of uploading pictures. Beyond that not a huge fan. Not enough people yet maybe?

and i here I was under the impression NS was like the red headed step child of the greater ski industry. Glad to see NS and the moderators official stance on the competition, shoot it down!

Well first, that wasn't what I said, I actually just signed up for Rejib and it has a lot of cool stuff on it, but NS is where the community is, so I just don't really care that much about the platform.

Either way though I find it flattering that you take my posts to be the "official stance" of Newschoolers and its moderators, but if you're looking for that, take it straight from the horse's mouth, Bishop posted on the last page and I believe was pretty much 100% in favour of encouraging new skiing websites.

I still see a trend of you guys dismissing it, for further evidence check out ElGatos posts on page 2.

and then this little comment from you.

"if you got banned we just redirected you to ski.colonies. Now we can just redirect people to this new site!"

Yeah fuck you.

Calm the fuck down before you have an aneurysm... When we used to do that to ski.colonies it was a joke. Quit taking this stuff so seriously.
