front wheel drive - not straight on hills.

It'll get you around town but find a buddy with a truck for when it's dumping on the way up to the hill.

yeah i keep trying to talk him out of it. the only reason he wants it is so he can mod the fuck out of it.

gahhh. the snow car thing aside (i think itd be reasonable for most situations assuming you get snow tires and know how to drive), im just going to throw my two cents in that civics, especially newer ones, arent great cars to buy as a base for mods. its one thing if you have one and want to make it a little nicer, but if youre buying it with mods in mind, thats just a waste of time and money. theyre expensive to begin with and after a few grand of mods its still a civic. id suggest something with a stock turbo, since at that point software upgrades are amazing. has he looked at gti and jetta 1.8t's etc?

hahah thats exactly what i tell him! thats why i got a passat w/ turbo!
i also thinnk he is literally retarted because he wants to get an 09 in like 2 years, mod that out, and then use his current 99 civic to just drive. i think that it should be the other way around. mo the 99 out (more) and just drive with the 09

MIKEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYy

yeah i agree with the modding of the new civic unless he does some crazy shit like twin turbo or some shit.

fuck that 1.8s are shitty not abd but stilly shittyget a 2.0 adn go to fucking town. its gonna cost less to get it to x Hp than a 1.8 will to the same hp. and its gonna be a better car adn whatnot.

in other words dont get a civiv they are pieces of shit and suck. especially newer ones. although the new accords in the coupes look sick as fuck. tell him that shit.

ha yeah i guess. i was going along the lines of how you can pick up 1.8ts pretty cheap now. and im saying this after riding in my cousins 03 gti 1.8t with nothing but a $500 software upgrade, which, with the upgrade, is at 230 horse at the crank. my dads 05 nissan maxima claims 265, and the gti would beat it.

Sorry, but 1.8T engines from VW are beasts... With little modding they can hold up to 300+ HP with a BT and with more, the possibilities are endless. If you try and mod a 2.0 VW engine to catch up to a 1.8T, you're going to drop a TON more. The basic supercharger kits they have for a 2.0 barely get it into 1.8T stock territory, when 250HP coming from 180HP stock is possible with a chip, intake, exhaust, diverter vavle, and a ECS race N75. (about $1000 in mods)

If he's stuck with getting a civic, he's making the wrong choise, there's not much you can do to change some people's mind...

True, same mill that Audi uses in the TT.

Honda B18s and the like are completely useless though, he could at least grab something with potential.

word, i ment 2.0t, no a N/A 2.0 haha. also a DV wont do anything for hp, it only releases boost...

and basically ignore what i said before, iw as drunk and not making a ton of sense

you should tell him to look into getting an srt-4 or a speed 3. both are cheap now and both respond well to mods. the srt-4 is good to over 500 HP on the stock block and with just bolt ons you can get the stock turbo to 325 HP.

he better do some research for real though, especially the new honda motor's are already tuned to almost maximum potential, so buying one is like putting you at a dead end.

you can buy them new from subaru dealers. you can also get them used and passed around from your local hooker.

well i mean its front weel drive so its better than most rear weel but overall it isnt to great in the snow especially uphills take so much effort and super steep icy snowy hills cant do it when my friends 4 weel trucks can. but iv only driven it in pretty heavy snow and slushy stuff after storms but for small storms its ok overall solid car lacking on the power tho but what can you do im not paying so idc

you guys have cool cars and rich parents, but doesnt compare to my audi.......

on the left, its an a6, i guess the color is snow white.

Its actually an OEM Ultrasport front bumper and everything else is stock. Thats just how it came from the factory. Once I get out of winter mode the lip is getting painted anyway.

holy shit that's such a good deal. Where did you get it going that fast? I've gotten up to like 40 mph on my road bike coming down from a ski hill in the summer but nothing near 100 km/hr. You should definitely start racing, it seems like a waste not too with that bike

those wheels are winter mode? or just the kit was installed pre winter, and youre waiting to paint it?

also def gonna need to see some pics of when its painted.

previous ride:

British Columbia, coming down a mountain on the highway. i had to scope the road from the car on the way up, didn't see any problems so i just bombed that thing as fast as i could.

I'm still not sure whether i want to race or not, but i'm beginning to lean a little more toward the racing side rather than not racing, just because it seems like a good reason to keep riding and a good way to keep my legs in shape.

I know what it does. haha. But if you're running higher HP than stock, (especially after a chip) and you don't get a new DV, you're pretty dumb.

alright, non of these are my pictures, i got them off the internet, but they are what i have

1992 BMW 318i - i cant name this color. My brothers car, soon to be mine

even thought it doesnt have four wheel drive, i love driving it. And to top it off for some reason my grandparents felt the need when they bought it to get a bose sound system installed. So i got a car with a good sound system

word to that. i thought you were saying it was a HP gain haha. but wouldnt it be higher boost than stock/higher boost than it can hold? or you just mean as more hp is gained so is boost?

If we're going technically here. A DV on the car would give it more HP. A chipped 1.8t is supposed to peak at about 16-18 lbs (depending on the flash and company you get). But if you don't get an aftermarket DV you definitely won't be peaking at 16, if you're lucky the stock DV would start leaking out at about 14/15. Now if you grab a nice DV (I like Forge 007s personally, they make a little BOV sound, plus they come with extra springs for different boost levels it lets out at) you can easily hold 16-18, and more if you tweak it higher. Even on a stock car with just really minor mods a new DV would let you hold a pound or two more boost. Just don't tighten it all the way where the boost doesn't let out

Disclaimer: Don't just tweak your boost up on a stock turboed car with a boost controller, different diodes, or any other bypassing method. It'll run like shit. If you know what you're doing, and you'll get a professional tune, and you buy the right parts to hold higher boost, and you generally aren't doing it just to try and get HP for the least amount of money possible, then go for it. If you aren't going to do those things, you'll f*** up your car.

LUNCHBOX ON WHEELS hahaha. no offense they are dope on the inside but i cant STAND the way that car looks.

word i know most of that stuff, on my ca(saab 9-3) you can run a MBC but it hits fuel cut at 15psi, and many guys on my forum run a mbc set to 14psi-ish.
also not too sure with vw's but we have 2 diferent self tuning programs called T5suite, and T7suite, on saabs theres a few different enginemanagement systems called t5, and t7. and some people have gotten good enough to sell their tunes, which can either be incar or regular (set between all tuning companies) staged tunes like 1-3 i believe.
