Fuck America, I want cool little euro hot hatchs but all we have are minis and 4 door fiesta STs. Thing looks pretty damn nice though!

You want Peugots? Trust me I had one and you'd rather not.

North america distinctly lacks cool german estates though, more of those from europe would be welcome

The 106 Gti, 106 Rallye & 205 GTi were all amazing cars, you won't understand this until you've driven one yourself, which I assume you never will. Yes all other cars that Peugeot made have been terrible

Yeah but sadly nobody would want a fun euro hatch or estate here, except Audi and BMW cause they make you look rich in America.

Not just Peugeots, though I've seen top gear enough to know about them but the old hatchbacks are so damn sweet. I wish we got renaults, Opel/vauxhall, seat, etc.

our hot hatchs in America are mostly 4 doors and just too big. im just pissed we never got at least all of fords performance hatches, especially the older RSs.

Ignoring past cars - we now has the fiesta st, focus st/RS, vw golf gti/r, audi s3/rs3, bmw m2, fiat 500 abarth, plus any decent japanese cars they get in europe we have here as well. The new stuff we don't have, french and italian mostly, is garbage you don't want. The spanish are just germans in frock.

You really want a 20 year old ford rs model? I do too but we probably can't afford one anymore, the values are too high. You want something else that's 20 years old? if you live in canada you can import anything 15 years or more, no restrictions. USA, 25 years.

All i'm saying is the manufacturers have heard us and delivered as of late, there isn't much to complain about any more, just have to open your wallet.

2005 Forester XT. 5 speed, heated leather, panoramic sunroof, etc. Picked it up for 5K in New Haven VT. 183,300 miles. The lady that had it before me was 60ish and the original owner. didn't beat on the engine but the exterior is dented and scraped up, and I don't think she ever cleaned the car. Detailed the interior myself so it looks a little better. Wax and polish is next. Gorilla flaps and a black grill is all I've done so far

Nice find my dude. Thats the unicorn I was searching for (black 05 5sp with the sunroof/leather) before settling with my turd. You take care of her now.

I was searching for this exact one too and couldn't believe I found one. It's my baby now.

Finally got all the overfenders on. Yes the paint looks like shit, but its only for a couple weeks until the car is fully wrapped (ordering vinyl and supplies this friday). Still have so body work to do, dents to repair, holes to fill, paint correction so shit doesn't show through, and theres a gap between the rear quarter and the bottom of the gas door cutout in the overfender, car was hit there and repaired before I bought it, then someone backed into me and it was repaired again this winter, so its not perfect OEM shape, so that will have to be bondo'd or something. Other than that pretty happy with the progress so far.

My cop magnet

You and I are like the same person. I;m currently saving for a 2015 s4 or 2017 tacoma/tundra (I want a tundra but milage sucks)

I drive a stock 1998 expedition with mega tires on it, its got a v8 and im convinced it and I would beat anyone in this thread in snow/drifting. Thing is just about impossible to get stuck, thought about plasti dipping or switching out all the chrome on it, stancing it, raising it, putting black rims, a skid plate and redoing the interior and adding subs and shit, with a box or a rack, a nice tint job, new grill, bumper and a sick sticker job thing would be sick, all cosmetic of course. But I decided not to pump money into an old car I hate, I did get it for 2500 with 102k on it (the tires are 2500 alone). Anyways I drive everywhere way fast, like 20 over it s terrible. The cops have nothing to do here and just set speed traps. I've been super lucky and only been pulled over twice (one time I got a warning and the other was 2 doors down from home and a block away from school) but both times I have been missing a front plate and they came from the front but just didn't notice. I pass several cops a day and have been missing a front plate for months but have never had trouble for it.

Sorry for the wall of grammar errors.

i just bought a 2004 forester xs, wanted an xt but had to settle, gonna trade this in when i have enough money for an XT.

BUT I have a question.

Im currently on 225/60-16 tires and its time to get new ones. I want to stance the tires out and have them stick out past the fenders a little bit, i plan on getting wheel spacers and lifting it like an inch or two. But does anybody know the widest tire i can fit on the stock wheels?

If you have the stock steelies i think its a 225. I run a 215/65/16 on my stock XT wheels which i believe to be the same size as the steel ones and its decently close to the strut. This should answer most of your questions http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f72/biggest-tire-41209/ I love this site, most of the questions I've had are answered pretty quick or are easily searchable. Watch those wheel spacers and offset adjustments because it can kill your steering radius and wheel bearings if you go too big.

I've got a 2.5 X with shitty OEM steelies and I currently have 215s with the same offset. I'm just wondering how those tires aren't rubbing in the wheelwell because of how thick the sidewall is on 225s.

Nice dude! You've been talking about getting a forester forever ha! What size spacers are you getting? 225 is pretty much as wide as you can get on the stock wheels. But the spacers will get you the poke you're looking for. How are you gonna lift it? You can get a small lift out of strut spacers for really cheap but idk about a whole 2in. If you go any more than an inch or so you're gonna have issues with links and eating cv shafts. Lucky for you with a lift and the forester's huge wheel wells you shouldn't have any problems fitting some gnarly tires on there.

I was never interested in lifting my forester until this came up locally for sale.. and sold for $2k. Wish I picked it up. 3in lift on 30in tires.

Damn thats a rig!! Really similar to the look im going for, also planning on putting fender flares on it too. Im probably only going to lift it either an inch or 1.5" Ill probably go with strut spacers. I dont feel like dumping a shit ton of money into the suspension especially because i dont have a ton of opportunities to go offroad around here. Any opinions on how big i should go for wheel spacers?

But this is the ol' girl, finally got around to taking a pic of it.

You're preaching to the choir. I think these new "mobile friendly" updates are the nail in the coffin for NS.

I'd say less is more with the wheel spacers. Wheel spacers change your offset and in turn will wear your wheel bearings alarmingly faster (5x100 hub subarus really don't like you fucking with their offsets). And if you plan on flaring it you're now looking at needing some serious sized spacers to get the poke you're looking for. You might wanna consider finding a different wheel setup.

I'll try and get pics of my car up here soon. I'm just now realizing I have no pictures of my car with its current wheel setup. But I managed to cram 18x9.5+44 wheels with 255/35 tires onto mine without spacers and no rubbing the strut.

Anderson Design Fab and subtle are both supposed to have very nice lift kits. Make sure you don't stack them though. Also would recommend new endlinks to keep the swaybars from popping. 1.5-2" lift with some Grabber AT2's or comparable tire would look sweet on the stock wheels.

okay so this is pretty much the look im going for

this is with ADF 2.5" lower lift brackets, its 250 bucks, im thinking about getting either general grabbers or cooper discoverer's with like a 1.5 inch wheel spacer? Gonna be a fun build im stoked to see the end results and have a rig by winter time :)

That looks sick. Just remember it's gonna eat wheel bearings and cv joints. Might be a small price to pay for the fun you'll have in that thing :)

ive read that if you stay under 3" with foresters it doesnt wear out cv joints as quickly, 2/2.5" is the sweet spot apparently. And i guess you only really see wear after 10k miles, but we'll see haha. Ill be sure to post pics while i build this thing up. Very very stoked

Stoked to see how it comes along! But at the same time I dont need any more temptation/influence to lift mine haha

well my windows been broken, use to require the door to be open to have the window go up/down. brother tried fixing it, fucked up, ordered new motor, doesnt work. volt reader is picking up 12 volts so it says everything has power but the motor doesnt seem to work.

Double check mechanical and electrical connections. maybe the wiring harness connector has a loose or broken pin. If you cant figure it out with a forum post or youtube video maybe take a ride to autozone/advance/o'rileys. Worst that could happen is they cant fix it either. Pretty sure they'll check it for free tho.

Idk my brother used the multi-meter and said everything has power, even when he hits the switch. A few people on the CRV forums said very similar issues that were fixed my soldering whatever wire was loose, and apparently that was the issue although I still think it is. Every other window but the drivers side works, its conveniently stuck halfway shut. All I can really think is some wire in the door panel is fucked, he tried to fix it without tools and I think poked at part of the hinge where wires go into the door panel through a rubber hinge and thats when it stopped working entirely, so maybe its in there. Im about to leave for a week and hopefully his desire to fix fucking everything gets it done, were just confused because were being told there is power present but a fresh motor doesnt work. This is why I hate the electrical side of cars, the mechanical shit actually makes sense to me.

yeah, id just rig together another wire and tie it in to the harness. Usually i hate clipping wires but sometimes you gotta make due. I ended up rigging my rear wiper line back together with a vacuum line connecter so i didn't have to feed new hose through the whole car for one small tear. not ideal but it worked. Best of luck with the repair

Surprisingly more props than hate. It's the only bagged wrx hatch in Montana as far as I know so people are more in awe when they see me ripping around or when I air out lol. But I do get lots of douchey guys in lifted trucks that try to race me all the time, it's hilarious hahaha

06 Outback XT Limited. I drove 4 hours each way with one of my buddies to get it. Of course the tires are shot so I got a flat day one but luckily I have a set of studded snows that are going on as soon as i can. So far I love the car though, I've been wanting one for over a year

Love the roof basket

It's the best, I use it all the time. I've ratchet strapped couches, mattresses/beds, and all kinds of other shit to the top in various moves. With the extension it covers my entire roof. Unfortunately, it is still slightly too short to fit multiple pairs of skis since 180cm+ skis need to loaded into the basket diagonally to fit.

Over the summer I picked up this 1995 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD in Florida that has never seen salt and drove it all the way back to Wisconsin (through Mexico of course, because it was unregistered ;) ). Been resprayed, paint is kinda heinous up close but no rust at all. Almost stock except for exhaust manifold, downpipe w/ O2 housing, 3" catback. Musty ass interior (roaches included, the kind with legs) that I will be tearing out completely replacing with 1999 Eclipse GSX interior before next summer. It'll be parked until salting is done for the spring.

... or riced them into oblivion. Glad this one survived though! Planning on making some power when money allows. ECMlink, e85, 20g turbo is my plan atm. Want to keep it clean and stock looking with the AC and such because it's my daily in the summer.
