Right on! Enjoy dude!!! Tell the ring I said hello

Threw some all terrain tires on my Forester this summer :) I would love to give it a small lift eventually.

Anyone know if ATs are good enough for winter though?

God no man. AWD is no better than RWD without proper winter tires and studs. I had two friends this winter with outbacks on all seasons, and both slid and crashed. I borrowed my grandma’s outback on allseasons for a few days, and it got pretty fuckin scary. I mostly drove my FWD volvo though (winters and studs), and never had a problem. See, not only do allseasons not have deep tread, but they are made out of a the same rubber they use for summer tires. Winters are made of softer rubber, so they don’t get super hard when it is cold. Bite the bullet, and get studded winters man, theres a good chance it will save your life, or at least your car.

My crv is a different animal on studded hakkapalitas, I remember I was out in a couple inches of snow and turning 90 degrees left out of a stop and without much gas I started understeering into some grass. Now with my studded snows I can literally drive a fairly normal speed through 12"+, just dont trust my AWD system though so I'm careful down steeper hills, corners though ;)....

I worked at a volvo dealer last winter and people there were like "xc90, dont even need snows you're fine" and besides seeing them and even s90s plow over the 2 feet of snow when digging the sales lot out, they weren't that good with all seasons around the parking lot, corners can hurt you, it's a volvo though so you'll live.

Just co piloted a 570s and going 155 in 10 seconds or so is fucked, still in denial it happened.

Meh, my subie did fine last year in the snow with all seasons on it. I felt like I was in total control all the time compared to the Toyota Corolla I was driving prior. I wouldn’t say that if you don’t have studded winter tires you’re definetly gonna total your car, or end up in a ditch. AWD is far superior than FWD and RWD in the winter. It’s how you drive. You could have the best rated snow tires and you’ll still end up in a ditch if you drive like an idiot. Only times I ended up in a snow bank last year was when I was getting reckless and gassed it on a corner, and my forester backed right out of it.

With that being said, it’s never a bad idea to get snow tires.

Been out of the scene on NS for awhile. Couple have fun cars have come through my dealership recently. Lucky enough to get to drive most all of them and spend a couple days with them before getting them new owners. Let me know if you have any questions about them.

Holy shit dude that's quite a dealership you have there, did you start it yourself? Also what do you drive then?

Didn't start it myself. But I guess you could call me the logistics manager. I do all the purchasing of cars, pricing, valuing trades, making the exotic deals work. Some financing. Etc. So most everything needs to go through me. I just drive the work vehicles for the most part. Been driving the R35 for the last 5 days or so and having a blast. All of our huracans are gone at this point and I am waiting for the right deal to come up on another one. The Rolls Royce Dawn was an absolute blast, but I could never justify the depreciation.

That's awesome, sounds like a fun job, working at a dealership was my favorite job so far for sure. I detailed in park city this summer and my bosses best friend is the youtuber the stradman, I rode in his 570s, I'd maybe look into those of if I were you because that thing was fucked.

I love the look of Mclarens, and love kinda their process and concepts. But I can't justify the price or the simplicity of the interior. It really limits the market I feel

Yeah before I left for my new job i started today I saw the 570 in our shop for a wrap and it's so cool seeing how the body's shaped with carbon and all. But I know what you mean, lambo, Porsche etc still have more than a screen and a few buttons, I worked at volvo before so a simple interior is more for me. Maybe consider a v12 vanquish for the dealer, a other old client had one and damn.

to add about McLarens, just added some printed carbon fiber vinyl wrap on a client's 650s the other day that had cracked fiberglass from getting into/out of the driver seat. seems like quite the design flaw...

That looks sick, mclarens arent that common but God damn theyre sick. my now old boss just finished this youtubers 570 for sema and xmas giveaway, it was voted to have orange but leaving the black carbon is better. seeing it in person be done over a few days was pleasant, if I was early I just paced around and examined/stared at it. I rode in it on our backroad on it and went 155 really easily, but then it got tuned, can't imagine how it's faster.

Seen an LFA in PC a few times and the guy wants ppf full shell, and undercarriage, but the quote is very large sooo.

Time to take some new pics of the fleet considering the only one I have of the Westy has my parents in it and the only one of the Tacoma has the front end cut out of the photo.

1989 V6 SR5 4Runner

1988 Volkswagen Westfalia

2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo

2010 Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab

2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i. I have had this car for about 10 years and have driven all over the West and Canada in it.

Here is a cool shot with a Canon 7D high shutter speed on a tripod and a wireless trigger I taped to my steering wheel:

No, I rent it out on Turo, and there's a much bigger market for Auto's. I mostly drive it from San Diego to LA in rush hour anyways, so that drive would be even more brutal with a standard.

Rented this boat of fun last night. Anyone who says automatics/DCT transmissions are faster hadn’t driven a damn Hellcat or Demon.

I’m a JDM guy, I like 600cc bikes and cars that you gotta make scream in the high RPMs to make any power.

but those times I do put myself in touch with my inner redneck.... ooommmmggg it’s damn fun. My G37 makes about 600hp at the crank vs 700hp in the Hellcat, but the difference in torque (and overall volume) is insane

What transmission does a hellcat have? I recently drove an 09 gtr and although the dct was fast it still was a tad slower shifting than I thought, it was slightly faster than using paddles or like Audi's shitty tiptronic. Still fucked up fun though, I wanna see your g37 and mods though.

It was just a 6MT. No fancy 7 speed like the Z06. I thought the GTR had a decent DCT and thought the newer Audi (RS at least) were supposed to be good DCT as well.

G37 mods: air-air intercooled supercharger on stock filter and pulleys, return fuel system, 450 pump 1050x injectors, flex fuel, nismo 1.5way LSD. Also just put on Fortune Auto coils on swifts, need to get sway bars and am gonna start drifting (and need to do some track days)

I have a spare blower I think I’m gonna build up and switch up pulleys, run no filter/blowerguard and go for 650whp.

or I heard I can gain almost 4lbs of boost by just taking off the filter as it is if I wanna be cheap. That should get me close to 600whp without adding in risk of belt slip but it’s nice to have a spare blower ready to go were anything to happen

I'm assuming RSs have a better transmission but I'm referring to more base models with paddles added for a "sporty" feel, like some volvos I've driven with paddles were just still slow to shift up, the gtr was quick but compared to cars of its class and the new gtrs I'm assuming theres some that are quicker at shifting. And damn, I dont see to many built G's but that sounds super fun I'm assuming yours is also a 6 speed since you wanna start skidding about? I'd definitely recommend doing a few track days to see how it handles everything and learn to properly clip an apex and shit.

I'll be in the market for a new car soon and kinda want like a g37x sedan to finally have a fun car, but probably not to practical for the life I wanna live, putting fun cars kinda on hold since I wanna bum around skiing for a while.

My baby, searched for about 6 months. 2016 GTI SE w/ Performance package and lighting package:

938176.jpeg

1 owner lease vehicle. Bought with 16k, at 24k now.

Mod list:

Cobb AP, Freektune Stage 1 e-tune, RS7 spark plugs, ECS intake refresh kit (K&N drop in air filter, silicon turbo inlet hose, snow guard delete), ECS turbo inlet pipe, ECS turbo muffler delete, ECS catch can system, GFB DV+ diverter valve, ECS wheel spacers, BFI short shifter. Also have eBay twintercooler that has yet to be installed.

Without dyno, rough estimate is 300whp/350wtq

May have hurt the motor running the Cobb ots tune for a month, get a decent amount of KR under load/boost. Going to be getting a comp/leak-down test after the holiday to get a final answer. Running the Cobb stage 0 (stock) not much, if any, KR so I’m feeling good. May just be the tune.

I drove an E350 with shit paddle shifters so I know what you’re saying. Unless it’s something in an actual race class like a Ferrari or Porsche, I’m skeptical of them all until they prove me wrong. And a race oriented DCT is brutal to drive around in low speeds/casual driving/parking lots so if it’s comfortable enough for old men to drive around town in luxury cars, I’m pessimistic about it’s actual efficiency. But tech is ever evolving I could be wrong. Only auto I have is in my truck so I only make casual observations from the sidelines. But I sure see a lot of electrical bugs leave people stranded for dead with auto trans’.

If you may want to mod, do not get a G37x sedan. My G37 coupe is 100% interchangeable with 370z parts aside from body obviously, but guys with sedans ask me about my kit and they can do it but need to get charge pipes etc extended for the sedan. Plus with the hp limitations of the auto transmission, it’s just not worth spending that much $$ only to have to cap your gains at 450whp.

FWD. The goal is to get an R (awd) at some point. Whether that be through trade or add to the family is unknown but this will be my

toy for the next couple years. I love the platform.

Yeah dcts are good but I feel like there arent many that are super fast, I rode in a 570 last summer, that one was fast, and the guy also has an aventador and it looks like the single clutch is brutal to shift in. But I wouldnt heavily mod one if I got one, just like a basic BS intake and decent exhaust and maybe suspension if I could afford it, it's my current like cheaper fun car in the future besides a few wagons, preferably would like some form of Evo but that'll be tough to pull in the future without lots of money set aside for maintenance and mods.

Everytime I see an Evo in traffic, I roll my window down to listen and I get the feels that I bought the wrong car. Then I go on craigslist, am reminded of all the stuff that breaks and remember I bought daily to be a DD first, racecar second

Yeah Evos are easily my top for sound amongst the 4 cylinder turbo engines 4g63 or 4b11, especially with anti lag they sound like fucking machine guns. But yeah they have their issues when modded and not looked after right, idiots that should have STIs or civics instead love to launch them til the transfer case goes boom, otherwise the engines are pretty good when built and cared for right. my brother has an NA fwd 1g eclipse built for rallyx and the engine wasnt bad but just needed a lot of stuff replaced before it could be pushed hard, now it runs really smooth and is driven to and from events. Evos are also hard to come by bone stock and low miles these days, if they do bring back the evo like sources suggest he may trade his daily Fiesta ST in for a brand new evo. They're so underrated in the states compared to the focus RS and STIs but still think their awd system is one of the best, shitty interior but I couldnt give a shit.
