I just hate ones that invade the page. Like if they stay in their area they are okay but when they start their invasion its time to draw the line. and truthfully I kinda like the background ads, alot of people hate them cause they click out there which I understand, but lets just say you could make a certain part of the background clickable so not everytime you click the background you go to a different page. Not sure how coding that would work but I like when the background reflects contests and comps going on. Like let say JOI is coming up, it would be kinda cool if NS reflected that, kinda going with the industry.
Ads aren't bad when they reflect the industry, hell ns is so influential in the freeskiing industry, it connects everybody, thus why it is such a strong asset. You have companies that look here for reviews, what people want, talented people put up videos, filmers flim those people, industry folk shows product and help sponsor the real talented people. Photogs posts photos on here which can be used in publications or anything dealing with the industry. The other side of things is that people meet others through here all the time. I'm on my local hill and I seem to know everybody that is remotely into the park scene, not that im good or anything, but we're connected. I've met many people who I have later skied with on NS, many friends. Just the other day I was telling someone on the lift about something, and he was like, "oh I just posted an edit on NS the other day" which lead to the exchange of NS names and me telling him that there is a Video Section Reamp coming along.
Companies should advertise here and be active here, or how else would they know what else is going on with their industry. If the review section gets back into full swing, companies could read reviews of their product and further change on that and then when they advertise and are active here people could have an easier time of questioning or knowing of their products. NS is nothing but growing, and the people that don't hop on will be left behind.
