t-man152 Active member Feb 1, 2008 #4 that all depends on the camera. if you have a Canon 10,20,30,40D or rebel series which has a crop factor of 1.6 then the lens is a 320-800 if your on a Nikon DX style camera thos have 1.5x crop factor so it would be a 300-750 lens

mammothpunks Active member Feb 2, 2008 #7 believe it comes with a 2x extender made just for it too that takes it to a 400-1000 5.6
t-man152 Active member Feb 2, 2008 #8 yup it does. so who on this site is enough into birdwatching to get this lens?
BSI Member Feb 2, 2008 #9 The zoom range kills it for me, I'd rather see a prime 600mm 2.8. If your into eroding image quality definitely go with a 2X extender.
