New ON3P Skis Lineup!

sick. I would be picking up a pair of new caylors FOR SURE if i hadn't just scored a free pair of 2012 hellbents. win win situation, cuz if i decide i dont want bents, i can make a sale and get whatever ski i want. yeee

196 Pillowfights... DO. WANT. MUCHO.

Holy shit - that's the ideal ski for me. Me being 6"5 I need a fucking big pow ski... I can get a 225€ deal on ARG's, but they're simply not long enough for my liking...

And can someone explain to me in plain folk speak what the main difference is between this year's Blue Steele and the Filthy Rich?

still too small. look into praxis skis, DPS skis etc. they are the same ski design but come in 200+ lengths, which would be much better for you. 196 will ski very short.

The Filthy rich is a little more stable on edge. It has an infinite turn radius, so the more on edge you get it, the harder you lock in. As far as camber, it has a similar amount of camber as the BS... maybe even a little more. The rocker is a longer, more gradual rocker rather than an abrupt rocker just at the end.

I'm sure Rowen, Scott or Kip can explain it more since they know all the math behind it, but what I noticed is just a more stable blue steele that pops even better.

When you look at them from the side and can see the camber/rocker profile, that's where you visibly see the main difference.

Don't waste your time with ARGs. At 5'9" 175lbs. I found them too short. The 196 Pillow Fight will measure like most companies' 199s, so I don't think they will be too short. A 200 Lotus 120 or 202 Lotus 138 would be pretty sick though, as would be a 205 Praxis Pow. The 138 and Praxis Pow are 100% pow skis though, the Pillow Fight shape will still allow them to be reasonably decent on the resort.

Wish I had cash flow and knew what my season would be like next year.

191 Billy Goats sound amazing, especially if they come stiff. Which I like.

Along with the 181 Flithy Rich!

lets be real here, if you are getting any of those skis you have no intention of skiing anything but 2+ feet of pow...and they will all suck out of the pow...some just suck a little less.

Lineup sounds and looks great. Just received last year's Billy Goats and ordered next year's Wrens, Caylors and Jeronimo, the last two pairs for my son, Ducky. Yahoo!

I had ARGs for 2 years, and have skied all 3 iterations of the Cease & Desist. The ARGs sucked on groomers, like absolutely horrible. They were super slow on the flats and you had to stay on them 100% in sketchy bumpy icy runs. The 2012 C&D is not only better than the ARGs in pow, crud, big mountain lines, basically everything except tight trees, they can carve groomers. Yes, I said carve. I have no doubt the Pillow Fights will be reasonable on groomers. Praxis Pows have continuous reverse camber and almost continuous reverse sidecut. They are tree slaying machines, improved Spatulas, but they are a handful on the resort. The Pillow Fight will be much much better.

I think people are going to be very surprised how well they can handle hardpack for a ski that size with that little effective edge.

When we first tested these, I was not at all stoked to ski them. We skied them in the rain ice and chunder at Baker. They were definitely to much ski for those conditions but they held edge on ice and railed groomers fine. It was a lot more than a more appropriate ski for that day but it was totally manageable.

Since then I've gotten to ski them in more of what they were meant for. 38" of new snow at Hood last week was one of the best days of my life. These skis surf, float, butter, and jib the deep pow. I was also surprised at how well they do switch. I was not looking forward to skiing switch or landing switch with that tapered tail but it was as effortless (if not easier) than skiing switch on Caylors in pow.

After things got tracked I managed to do a few size-able 3s and 1s in the park. I think people will be surprised how well these skis do out of powder due to the short effective edge and the small turning radius underfoot.

I skied the Pillowfights in everything from chopped up boot top to firm pack. They were surprisingly decent on the firm stuff. Anything firm and bumpy I was less then stoked on, but with most hard pack I was pleasantly surprised. Would I recomend them as an everyday ski? No, but I would not recommend hellbents either. I found these to be comparable to hell bents on firm snow.

And whoops on the re-post. I saw the Pre-Sale thread that K_M made but for some reason read it as 2010-2011. I imagine all the info in this thread is already in there. Stupid me!

Either way, if you don't buy at least one model of the aforementioned skis, you're failing.

hows the flex on the Jeffreys? Rocker pic would also be great! Im trying to decide between them and the 2012 Bacons for a one ski quiver and i want a buttery playful ski. since im pretty light, the softer the ski, the better. Plus i find soft skis to be more fun. And i would be interested in a 176 Jeffrey for tele.

on another note, why do the BillyGoats always get the best graphics?!?!

the whole lineup looks amazing. wish i a) had the money and b) there was a super soft model for skinny fuckers like me..

Why did Ben Franklin get replaced with the new ON3P logo on the Filthy Riches? But do very much want.

I would not make that association. I have a pair of skis that are essentially Jeffery Protos, I do not think of them as a lizzy style ski.

why are 191 BG's better than 190 Bibby's, and 195 AK JJ's?

tryna decide between all three and the only thing that is holding me back is that the BG looks like it just has a really skinny nose that would get knocked around, and wouldnt engage when the snow stopped being soo soft.

I have yet to be on an ON3P ski that get's knocked around. Their ski's are generally designed to laugh at the shittiest PNW conditions.

I have been skiing the 191 BG for the last couple months, almost exclusively. It does not get knocked around unless you ram it into an ice wall, it engages hard pack turns about as well as any other 118mm wide ski will engage on hard pack. It is not grabby, it takes user input to engage the ski on firm snow, but it holds on just fine.

I am also blessed with the privilege of getting to ski almost any ski I want, I have skied the 195 JJs, I have skied the Shiro, I have skied the super7. I have skied almost every ski out there. The 191 BG is my favorite ski of all time. I will be skiing it 80% of the time from here on out. You won't go wrong with it.

I really don't think you'll have a problem getting knocked around. Our skis are all on the stiffer side of the spectrum. Slightly stiffer than Bibbys and I would imagine they are stiffer than the JJs but I have yet to flex a 195. We basically designed this ski to be more versatile in all conditions and be a good PNW daily driver.

so what are some things that you wish certain skis would do better, or some kinks that havnt been quite worked out? every ski has some, but the really really good ones only have a few. we know most of the pro's, but what are some cons(subjective i know).

and if you say that the ski is everthing you want in a ski and you cant make it better, i am going to beat my new puppy...

I wish the 191 BG had a weight switch, so I could make it lighter for touring.

It does not float as well as a C&D or Pillow Fight, only about 90% as well

It does not grab firm snow as well as a Cochise, only about 90% as well

It does not blast through crap like a Wren or XXL, only about 90% as well

It does not ski trees as well as a 186 BG, only about 90% as well.

It is the best ski I have skied though.

haha good shit! thanks for putting up with the questions.

I wish all companies had their pro team do an honest review of all the skis. I dont want to hear just the positives, i also want to hear where the ski doesnt shine for people and what gripes their are. I want to hear a team member say: "this feels dead, and damp"- i dont want this, but many big mountain chargers view this as a positive. whereas someone says: " you really have to drive this thing to get it to turn, its not playful"- in certain skis, thats what i want.

Anyways, take it or leave it, but a pro and con review of each ski by the team members would be an awesome addition to he site...me thinks.

I do that, I have essentially given back skis telling my point of contact that the ski sucked.

The 191 BG is honestly the best ski I have been on. I plan on supporting it with C&Ds, Viciks, possibly Cochises.

i'm not digging the FR's graphics too well.

they would have looked so dope with some dollar bill graphics or something of that matter
