ah the ignorance of someone who has never ridden a longboard. the main reason i bought mine was because i wanted to just cruise and carve a lot, and have something to do in summer when there's a flat spell. well i found myself riding almost everyday from christmas day (when i got it) until now. not only has it been the most fun i've ever had on pavement, it's also the best transportation for someone without a car, and gas prices so high. on an average day i probably ride around 5-10 miles, some days over 15. i didn't think longboarding would be that great around my house because i have zero hills, and i really wanted to bomb and carve, but i've found other ways to have fun on it. just the other day there was one of those portable speed check things for cars, and i went down the road on my longboard. it was a totally flat street, and not too well paved, and i still managed to get up to 27 mph. i could keep going on about how great longboards are, but then i'd ruin the whole riding experience. go buy your own and experience the joy of cruisin
