Seriously? You're definitely right that he has strong views. Not sure his argument is coherent or intelligent. He is defending "free speech" and "individuality" when that has nothing to do with why people are complaining about the video. For 33 years old, Bishop seems to me like someone who never outgrew the whole "fuck authority, lets be punks!" attitude. I'm not sure who the head honcho of NS is (are they owned by a parent company?), but having your head ad sales guy get into a bunch of incoherent immature arguments all over the internet, not to mention him revealing info on how much money they are making on ads, and making comments like "every page you turn money goes into my pocket", well, it really just doesn't get more unprofessional than that. You can't really tell NS to "grow up" - most of them are 14 years old. But that's what I would say to Mr. Bishop.
 
but really. fuck authority and fuck cops. skiing isnt about being politically correct. if you didnt laugh at that edit, i probably wouldn't shred with you.
 
You're missing the point. Whether their sales go up or not is irrelevant. This isn't an argument of marketing analysts telling them what they did wrong/right. It's about being a douchebag. "BUT THEY MAKE A LOT OF MONEY AND GET LAID AND PARTY HARDER THAN YOU!!!11!!" isn't a very good excuse for being a douche. And its sad that people think it is.
 
Good point. And no, I haven't. They absolutely could all be dope ass down to earth guys. As I said with my argument with Bishop here and on TGR, my argument isn't even really against this video so much as the overwhelming obsession with middle class white teenagers who try way too fucking hard to think they are THUG, in the ski industry and elsewhere. In general, I guess, I assume anyone who's entire style is phony and copied from others, as well as people who think its cool to be morons about guns, are douches.
 
Me and my friends wear tall clothing and listen to a lot of hip hop while skiing....but I wear tight shit off the hill.

This Lesh guy seems to be a smart guy, so i have to believe that the video was meant as a joke and for the most part i thoroughly enjoyed the edit. However, joke or not, I don't see how a small business owner, whether you have a specific target market in mind or not, can afford to dismiss any other potential business.

i read all eleven pages before watching the video, and it wasnt as terrible as i expected it to be. not good publicity by any means, but it could have been worse
 
I agree that skiing takes itself too serious but that doesn't mean you have to make a huge dick of yourself on camera
 
If we start to get a trend of video / call-out video / diss video just like in hip-hop....

I will consider that a major win for the world. Nothing could possibly be more entertaining.

 
Now this edit I have a fucking issue with. DO NOT PROMOTE THE STEREOTYPE THAT PIT BULLS ARE MEAN, THUG, OR HOOD DOGS. I don't care about any of the shit in the FD video but holy shit the pit bull segment has me raging. I fucking hate people who put chains, spike collars, etc on those poor dogs. Regardless of how well you treat them, fuck you for promoting the stereotype.

Hardly. Look I get it's a joke, clearly, but I am defending the reputation of the breed. It would have been funny if it wasn't a dog that is stereotyped as being mean/aggressive/hood.

Pit bulls are pretty horrible dogs tho, they are responsible for 1/3 of dog bite fatalities. You should be mad at anyone who keeps the breed around, no need for aggressive pets (or any really).

O and btw yes I know you were arguing about how that promotes the "stereotype" that Pit Bulls are mean dogs. But I just found it funny you found that appalling but none of the other stuff in the FD edit. O and I found the First Drop edit to be quite entertaining btw, just shouldn't of shot the guns out of a moving car and this thread wouldn't be nearly as long as it is now...
