freds is not a good bootfitter at all. nestors in whitehall should be open back up for this coming season by november, which would be a little closer to you.

 
nestors in quakertown is the best shop on the east, the whitehall one will be open again in november. best quality stuff and the guys there know their shit.

 
steiners sports in either valatie or hudson. i've bought so much stuff from dave @ at the valatie one, it's crazy....... he did my custom insole work, soooooooo sick. and he cut me a deal on em two when the 1st mold wasn't perfect!

you dont get #1 bootfitter on the east coast for being a walmart of ski equipment buddy. we know our stuff. i've never had a customer come back later on in the season with a problem with their boots, even though we have a bootfit garantee that says if there is anything that doesnt feel right about the boot whatsoever once you ski on it, bring it back in, we will work on it with you til its right, if we cant fix it, we will put you in a different boot. sorry if that came off as cocky, but i dont know of many other shops that care about their customers that much. no comment on the weird owners thing though...
