ok then if the grand canyon was caused by erosion what caused this erosion, and why is it only in arizona and no where else in the world......and by going by what you are saying in the sense that you believe evolution, i will say this....evolution has more faults than Christianity and the Bible, for example.... The process of natural selection is not an evolutionary process. The DNA in plants and animals allows selective breeding to achieve desired results. Dogs are a good example of selective breeding. The DNA in all dogs has many regressive traits. A desired trait can be produced in dogs by selecting dogs with a particular trait to produce offspring with that trait. This specialized selective breeding can continue for generation after generation until a breed of dog is developed. This is the same as the "survival of the fittest" theory of the evolutionists. Many different types of dogs can be developed this way, but they can never develop a cat by selectively breeding dogs. Natural selection can never extend outside of the DNA limit. DNA cannot be changed into a new species by natural selection. Diamond back rattle snakes cannot be selectively bred until you have one with wings that jumps in the air and flies away. Evolution is impossible.
 
Exactly thats why you cant be fake. Its cheap and you wont get anywhere. Plus, you wont have anything to live for and as we can see thru example people;s lives will fly in a downward spiral that will result in something bad-proabaly death
 
why not pray for the earth then? or the sun? they both are really determining/allowing your existence and that is fact.

i disagree. its hard to see but evolutioni takes millions of years for large changes. you can take the mammoth for example. they were giants in their time. but a select group of them became stranded on an island millions of years ago. there wasn't enough room for their large bodies so the mammoths actually became smaller. they shrunk down to a quarter of their original size to meet the needs of their environment

evolution works because it only occurs out of necessity. so if a snake's environment started changing where it lived in trees, then the ground became untouchable, and trees started dying out. then yes, eventually over millions and millions of years, the snake will either develop apendages to glide, fly or whatever.

its hard to imagine but our world did not start with all of the creature already here like creationists say. it developed over billions of years and each animal evolved to fit the mold of its envrionment to survive. thats all we are here to do, to survive

2. The 'natural selection' you were describing, is describing test-tube genetics. NATURAL selection is the adaptation of each little trait. When you learn about genetics, they explain about MUTATIONS. Mutations are what cause evolution, not using controlled traits.

you are talking about size of animals not cross breeding say with a cat and a rabbit....New variations of the species are possible, but a new species has never been developed by science. In fact, the most modern laboratories are unable to produce a left-hand protein as found in humans and animals.
 
i disagree too, take termites, termites eat wood but never digest it, they have little creatures inside of it that digest it for the termite....the termite cant live without those creatures and the creatures cant live without the termite, which one evolved first?

and going with the big bang theory. if everything is spinning clockwise we have the conservation of angular momentum, meaning that everything will spin the same direction....if the universe began as a spinning dot than why do two planets spin in opposite directions ex venus and uranus, and 6 of the 63 moons spin backwards...if the big bang theory were true,the matter in the universe would be evenly distributed, and it is not there are voids and galaxies, why do we see novas and supernovas about every 30 years and never a star being born, how come there are only 300 dead stars when the earth is suppose to be billions of years old, that would mean there should be several hundred million of them

back to evolution, how did male and female evolve? things today are producing only from their own kind, how did things billions of years ago learn to reproduce outside of their own kind

 
sure science can't do it. but millions of years sure can.

you also have to take into the fact of genetic mutations, they happen and sometimes they are useful and stick around. some don't stick around.

slight evolution is happening to humans all the time. you know your pinky toe? the stupid little nub that tucks under your other toe and you don't have a use for? babies all over the world are being born without them. how is that not evolution.

also consider the organs in your body serving no purpose. i believe it the appendix. scientists believe it excreted an enzyme to kill bacteria in the raw food we use to eat. we discover fire. millions of years later, its of no use to us

I'm just happy that God can see the larger picture even though I can't. So many things I've prayed for, haven't come to fruition and hey...probably for the better. I wanted to be a pro skier for a while, I asked God for doors to open for a skiing career. Years go by, nothing. I don't blame God, it's probably for the better because I'm actually not a big fan of the industry and most everything that goes along with it (ie. wannabe rockstar lifestyle).

I have had my faith in God ever since I was in like....8th grade. There is no way I would be the person I am today without my faith. Very good discussion going on here. Keep it going...
 
i know i am asking questions that is because there is no answer for them... i am asking all the evolutionists those questions and am looking for an answer/explanation for the belief that you have....i am not trying to change what you believe but rather proove that it is false....get back to me when you have an answer for my questions about termites and the big bang theory
 
I like this kid. yep, you may wanna go one way in life that God may or may not want you too. It may not be your favorite thing, but it is what he has in store for you and you just gotta trust Him.

i mostly agree. i think what the catholic church does to portray God is wrong. i don't think he is an angry God and i don't think we are all sinners from the start. i also like to view him as a friend. i like to think of Him as an extremely joyful figure, who laughs when He sees us do something funny, and cries when something awful happen
 
and sadly i could write i book right now and publish a shitload of copies, send them out to the whole world for people to throw away or save. then there would a chance a future group of people may find this book and believe every word of it, as a message from god buried in the trash heaps of our civilizations. found all over the world, the words of god himself.

evolutionists don't have to prove to you the big band theory. thats why they call it a theory. right now the origin of the universe is still completely unknown. you can deny all the ways the earth could have been created other than god but you can't deny evolution. its proven fact

no way evolution is still a theory. its been proven so many times over. the big bang is a theory though. i'm not necesarly talking about we all come from monkeys. which more than likely we do. i was continuing my thoughts from my other recent posts about how species evolve adapt and change. god didn't just poop out all the animals that are on the earth today
 
it hasnt been proven, you just learned it from day 1 and you have believed it......like what i said about the termites which one evolved first, we couldnt have had a termites today if they both didnt evolve at the same pace for millions billions and trillions of years or however old you think the earth is...and if the earth was billions of years old we would have seen hundreds of thousands of novas and supernovas....yet we have seen just over 300 of them....and believing that living breathing people today came from a rock is just retarded....one other problem with evolution is woodpeckers, its tounge comes around its head and out its left nostril, no other bird has that.....and god didnt poop us out he created adam and eve and the world then on progressed from there

2) our appendix doesnt put out an enzyme for raw meats, otherwise we could eat raw meat today

3) we have no need for fire, wrong....umm cooking on the grill using fire....and that is because we have technology today which limits our need for fire
 
saying that god doesnt exsist just because it cant be proven is a stupid reason not to believe in him, or say for that matter. thats like saying you love someone, then having someone else say "oh yeah well prove it!" theoretically it is impossible to prove that you actually love someone. i mean you can do as many nice or great things as possible for someone trying to prove that you love them. but anyone can do that and they dont even have to like the person. just because it cant be proven doesnt mean it doesnt or hasnt exsisted.

I would also like to add that i dont personally choose to believe in god or religion.

On your termites point, they evolved TOGETHER. The point of evolution is that creatures adapt to their surroundings to be most successful. The termite adapted WITH those bacteria, the same as some kind of shark which adapted with a little fish or crustacean which cleans the shark, while gathering food for itself off the shark (I forget their names).

Or take the Chameleon. Its color changing capacity helps it protect itself, yet not all lizards do this. This is because every lizard adapted to its habitat to be most successful. If an animal doesn't adapt, it dies out.

Finally, take the Human. Humans survive because we are the MOST adaptable and adapted creature. We can survive in most temperatures because we have learned to use other animals and such things to keep us warm. We can live all over the planet because we use our exceptionally large brain to ADAPT. Instead of adapting physically, humans are adapting mentally, and the way in which we can retain knowledge is what allows us to remain successful against all predators.

Oh and for the novas, 300 is probably just the amount of novas that are RECORDED. The telescope, and even the human race are VERY new to the planet, relatively. The EARTH has seen thousands of them, no doubt. Just ask a dinosaur.

anyway i think that you have a good point and my opinion is that the only reason religeon has survived so long is because the catholic church has scared pople into following. they have intimidated the public to the point where they are so brainwashed that they have no choice but to follow, to be a sheep. lets face it, no body wants to go to hell. whether it exists or not nobody can prove and that is why they call it a faith. this is why people are scared of it. scared of the unknown. that is all fear is, the unknown. people figure that why take a chance and go to hell when i can devote a small part of my life to rreligon and be safe. i dont see anything wrong with anyone who wants to do this but personally i dont take part in any religeon. religeon is a way of keeping order. living by the ideals set forth by god. it has worked fairly effectively with the exception of things like the crusades and other things. religeon has gotten to the point where it is corrupted enough where it is causig violence instead of order. religeon is also an escape for many people. there is no getting around the fact that god is a "crutch" for people going through a hard time. this is also perfectly acceptable. but overall, the corruption, violence, and brainwashing are the main reasons i dont participate in any religeon.

also, be mature and stop bashing people in this thread, it makes you look like an idiot

 
what are the chances that they both evolve at the same rate VERY slim, and if you want to call it evolution when things change go ahead because everything in this world is changing take sports for example it is evolving, it would be boring if things wouldnt be changing

1)why havent we seen any stars form....question that leaves me puzzled

2)why are people more dominant than any other creature on earth....you are taking general things and relating evolution to them
 
People are more dominant because of our mental adaptations. Evolution takes hundreds of years to produce a totally new trait in a creature, to give the creature the edge of that environment. The reason humans are dominant is because we figured out the system, and worked around it. We evolved mentally if you will, at a MUCH faster rate than the rest of the world, which put us far ahead of the physical evolution of everything else. THAT is why we are dominant.

Stars I personally know nothing about, but I imagine it's because there is only rougly 6,000 years of recorded history, since the 4th century BC, with the coming of written language. So supposing humans have been around two to three thousand more years than that, 9,000 years is totally miniscule in comparison to the geological clock, a mere blink in the history of the universe.

You can't debate the fact that the world is a shitload older than what the bible says, for the Earth CERTAINLY hasn't been around for only 2,007 years, and we know this for certain because of carbon-dating, which tells the age of something.
 
yea but if we have seen 300 die i think we should have seen 1 form by now....i agree the earth is older than 2007 years but if i were to guess how old it is i would say it is 6000-7500 years old....carbon dating is to inconsistant

Read about how a date can be formed through carbon dating, by measuring the decay of the carbon. Decay, unless in an incubator of some sort, is a fairly constant process, thus making it consistant.

You would have to be ignorant to honestly believe the earth was only 6,000 years old. SAND takes hundreds of years to become as fine as it is on most beaches. And if something as simple and common as sand takes such a long time, then the formation and shaping of the Earth would take WAY longer.

4.57 billion years. Now I don't know about you, but I don't tend to come up with such a relatively exact number, when talking about the age of something, unless I KNOW I'm right. The scientists probably think the same way.
