Ok so here it is...

im in highschool and second quarter ends this week. my parents say that if i don't bring all of my grades up to a B+ or better i don't get to ski anymore. they say that i can do soooo much better and that i should try waaaayy more when i try as hard as i can. not all of my grades will be above a B+ by then, so i am sad to say that my ski season is almost over. i think it is such a dick move to take skiing away from me when i try as hard as i can and i am in all advance classes anyways. thanks for any ideas on how to get outta it but im fucked.

i think you're a fucking idiot if you can't get your grades above a B+

i think thats more sad than you not skiing anymore for the season.

Well if you believe that there is no hope left you're just going to have to say fuck school and ski as much as possible before the semester is over.

can you read....hes in advanced classes......getting a b + in advanced classes is like an a+ in regular classes

half my grades are above and half arnt. french is gay so i have like an 80 in that. english i do my work and the teachers grades me wrong on questions she grades other peopel right and science idk what happened there.

but yes no skiing is very sad. and i will prob go with what wooshit said...

If they are honors classes that is. High school isnt anything like college as well. I hated every minute of high school but love college. Some people that get Bs in HS, are not idiots.

sorry not everyone is a genuis. fag

yea my parents always say that too. try harder, i know you can do it. blah blah. its soo fucking gay.

i guess tell them you are trying your hardest and that you cant get some class's above a b. and if they say that sucks. and you still cant ski then fuck em and go ski everyday until the semster is over. then next semester take regular classes and get good grades

if you cant get B+'s in those advanced classes why are you taking them? Drop down a level and take those. How "advanced" are these classes. Get your priorities straight man. As much as most of us dont want to admit it school > skiing. It is that simple.

yea i understand that school is more important that skiing but skiing doesnt even effect my school work considering i dont ski on weekdays. im taking these classes because my parents make me because im supposed to be "one of the best if not the best in the class" . and to the person above this that said go ski everyday, i don't have a car.

ya that sucks man i hate when they play the "you can try harder" card. i mean given i could be doing more thorough homework if i wasnt on ns as much but i still work hard. its alright though im sure youll still be able to ski, theyll cool down in a week or two

just put a little effort into it. You are going to have to work at like an A level for awhile to bring your grades back up.
I am seriously the laziest fucking person in the world, and I can pull off an A- average in university. Highschool I never did any homework and rarely went to class. I just made sure I knew my shit for the tests. If you go with a crew up to your mountain, sit in the back and study on the drive up. Stay in the library at lunch break and study, and actually use your spares to do work.

For future reference the best thing you can do is work your ass off till like october and get like 97% and then coast down throughout early ski season to like an 80%. Then in the winter try to maintain like a 65% until ski season ends and then study super fucking hard and ace your finals.

lucky for me kids get bussed from hartford to my school......so now my school district is becoming a bit "gangster"......kids are getting arrested for starting knife fights over racist comments....and let me assure you my town is nothing close to a urban gangland if anything its a farming town full of hicks

why dont you just offer up a trade sacrifice something less important than skiing that still seems like punishment to your parents give up your cell phone or something

are you in public high school?

if so, then your grades should be very high, if you're in a prep school or intense private school then a B+ average is pretty tough

holy shit man, i could only masturbate to having grades like that. unfortunately, my parents are like yours and arent letting me ski unless i get good test results. im trying but a compelling argument i use sometimes is that skiing is a healthy way for me, as an adolescent, to get those extreme sensations and adrenaline rushes and that if i cant get those out of skiing, ill just turn to some sketchier shit.

you must be kinda dumb the cell phone was just an example give up computer or xbox or cable or offer to clean their fucking cars everyday for a month man i dont know you live in a capitalist culture make a fucking deal would you rather sit around on your computer looking at skiing or be able to go skiing thats all im saying give up some other liberty in exchang for the ability to go skiing make the arguement that your computer takes up way more time and is less healthy and gives your young impressionable mind access to to all sorts of sordid things

my ski season ended with a broken tibia/fibula

at least you have control over this. its highschool every class you are in is a joke.. it should be easy to get a 4.0

but im not saying i dont agree with you that its fucked up what your parents are doing... im just saying there arent many ways around it so just get better grades

ha, false. my senior year i had a job, and plenty of money for a seasons pass until i asked my dad to order it and my mom jumped in because i got a c at the end of the junior year. no pass for me...

my grades fell even more. so when first semester ended and i had 2 c's, my mom basically took away skiing.

ended up with a d in calc and a c- in physics by the end of the year. skiing was enough of a stress relief to focus on schoolwork during the week, but without it, everything just got worse.

i feel your pain. My grades have gone down but I'm ready to sacrifice a bit of skiing for that. But i thought about it and you should think about it this way:

For example, when you're on the hill, and you gotta hike for whatever reason, you work real hard to get up that hill right? But remember how good it feels to ski down again, it's the perfect reward for your efforts. Well, do it for school and skiing. Work your ass off for the whole week (that's the hiking) and on the week ends, go skiing! You should be able to keep up with all the work and still have a ski season. only problem with this is it's very tiring on week days.

That was my plan. Worked really well until end of semester, where exams came on. So i had to work twice as hard and sacrifice the skiing.

alex not everyone is as smart as you, some people just have issues with understanding school work
