My ranking of the top 4 cities that produce good hip-hop

Oh I thought you were talking about a remix of that song on the mash up album, I have heard the entire album of reanimation multiple times and can confidently say its terrible. High Voltage was one of the better songs on the album though I'll give you that.

Like I said I've heard only a few tracks on the mash up and was not impressed.

For whoever said ouside US: Lyrical Commision, and a shit load of amazing DnB MC's out of the UK.

I didn't say it was stated US only.

But based upon the answers being given and the discussion around them, which were basically US only cities, with a little bit of Canada thrown in there, it seems like it was understood that it was US only. It took 4 pages for anyone to even mention non-US/Canadian cities.
 
First page I mentioned Hilltop Hoods and Bliss N Eso... then someone said:

and yeah, I agree that there are many non-American cities putting out great hip hop. Just seemed like for the most part, based upon the responses people were putting out, the discussion was focused on American hip hop.
 
I don't know any other cities other than ones in the US the consistently put out good hip-hop.

Some of you guys are arguing that some cities have one or two amazing rappers...I don't deny that, but what I listed were cities that have ALWAYS had great hip-hop artists.
 
midwest is blowing up right now, kid cudi, mic terror, chip tha ripper, wiz khalifa (i don't know if i consider PA reallly midwest though)
 
meh. new york is almost 2/3 the size of canada. and la is about 1/3 the size, but new england and new york combined have a larger population. and i agree, if we are talking the 4 best hip-hop cities, other cities outside of the u.s just dont cut it. hip-hop started in the u.s, so it makes sense that we have the most influential cities.
 
im biased being a lifer, but i feel the love since everyone here agrees NYC reps.
no argument there, SO much talent has come out of this fine city, and who earlier said black star was from chicago? if ur talkin mos and talib then your talking BROOOOOKLYNNNN cuz thats the only black star i recognize

Born and raised in Brooklyn right here. Of course I spent much of my time in Waitsfield, VT skiing, but I will always have my Brooklyn pride.
