MSU crew in fall 2013

bozeman seems awesome, I think I want to live there at some point and ski bum for a season but the PNW has me in her clutches now and i dont think i can get out

bridger and big sky are pretty badass, better than CO if you're into more all mtn jibbing around than straight park. i've never skied the PNW, but from what i've seen and heard, i wouldn't leave

montana breeds all-around shredders: tanner, delorme, wiley, collins (well part Idaho)

I just want to experience something different... Been in the PNW all my life and t is fucking amazing but I figured college is as good a time as any to experience something new! I have a feeling I will come back to the NW though...

yeah im going to be a freshman in fall of 2013, its cool to see that people on here are going to msu. im looking for a crew like mine that i have now, a crew of people that have the same drive as me to skiing as much as possible. message me if your going to msu and have the same vibe. also im looking for a skiing roommate too.

Im visiting someschools still to figure out where im going next year, but msu is pretty high in choices. But i like to ski a bunch( obviously) gunna try to go alot. And i enjoy myself some partying. so if you need a room mate and i sound right hit me up

Im probably going to MSU for their Film and Photography program! I hate weed but I love to ski and run! hit me up if this sounds like you! btw im thinking north hedges would be a good living hall option.. anyone else agree?

seriously, like even if you don't smoke, there are few people there who "hate" weed. its a very, very stony town. and the college is even worse. and like i already said (if you actually fucking read the previous posts mr. incoming freshman) don't live in roskie, north hedges, or south hedges if you hate weed. go live in fucking wangford or don't come to msu at all

Still looking for a room mate. more about me, I'm down with smoking and drugs and what not but obviously I'm going to be focusing more on academics so pm me if interested or if you have any questions

ease up a little bit.

How come everyones criteria for finding a roomate at msu is "do you smoke copious amounts of weed?" how about, "whats your major? what do you like for music? sports?" etc.

lololololol. Live with the nerds in wangford. Roskie would be too much fun for you, South and North are still probably too much. Join a frat, they all hate weed too. PS MSU doesnt sound like a good fit for you at all. Try UW.

I have a creepin feeling I am going to be in a freshman apt rather than Roskie.. It was my 2nd choice but I have gotten 2 e mails since urging students to sign up for them so I don't think they got a lot of students to put in them..

Im probably going in 2014 and my brother is a sophmore right now. Real stoked, bridger bowl is fucking mind blowing if your with someone who knows what their doing!

Welcome to MSU. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your preference, most kids at MSU's lives revolve around the ganj. I dont smoke and it frustrated me a bit at times, but I also know for that kid that if he shows up in Roskie and "hates weed" hes gonna have a bad time. He can not smoke and have a great time, but hes gonna have to be a bit tolerant or hes gonna be miserable, and hes gonna piss a lot of kids off. Daph was a little harsh there, but it is kinda true.

Understandable. I smoke on occasion anyway and have no problem with it at all, I just feel like everyone talks about it like its 1960 and black kids are getting told they cant live in an all white dorm.

Haha yeah a few people are blowing it out of proportion.

But I will also say especially among freshman there are a lot of the obnoxious "420 bro weedz all day, if you dont smoke you are an idiot" kids, amongst the awesome chill smokers who dont care if you dont smoke, as long as you dont make a big deal about them. I never smoked, but I pretty much left other people be, and most people were mellow and understanding.

You hit it pretty much spot on. As long as you dont mind being around other people who do it right in front of you then most people wont really care and still will want to chill with you unless theyre total dickheads and only like their 420 bros that do nothing but smoke.

I dont smoke and you can still have a great time just dont be surprised if while youre skiing if most of your group of friends goes and finds a shack for a couple hours

lol dude I feel like you will try it. One of my freinds was totally " no man I dont need to smoke, or drink" he never did drink and this was in college. Just a couple months ago he started drinking, smoking, taking shrooms. Its all about getting out of that confort zone mayne, because thats the way to get in on those dime pieces niggah.

I will put down $4.20 that roddy smokes a bud by then end of the next year who's down to bet me?

all i can say is whatever you do try not to live on campus. your required to but some people can get out of it. the dorms are complete shitholes and the food is some of the worst shit I have ever eaten. its god awful. eating here is the biggest bummer ever.

other than that the town is sick, you will meet a bunch of really cool people and the outdoors here are great. The skiing is super sick here but we havent had much of a montana pow season which is a real bummer. To get epic skiing in you need to buy a sled and head out to cooke city. but make sure you know what your doing first

Roskie Room 315 bitches! Anyone else get their tentative housing assignment? Also, they call it "tentative" but it isn't likely to change is it?? Cuz I'm hyped on it.

Id say that as a sophomore or junior, but definitely not a freshman unless you know a bunch of people here. The dorms are a great way to meet a bunch of people and they were pretty fun for my freshman year (coming from someone who doesn't smoke or drink).

haha daph is killin it in this thread. yeah, roskie has the most sense of community out of any dorms, and if you cant handle people smoking, then you can go to wangford and live with more straight edge kids, not as many skiers. Thats just how it works. for anyone looking for a crew of skiers, im in roskie this year and found 10+ people in my POD (14 total) that are a blast to ski with around 5+ days a week. so finding a crew is super easy. and as you hit bridger through the season youll meet people up there, hitchhiking, or through mutual rides and find whose at your skill level. Please, please dont ski park on a good day at bridger

When I was there for a tour they mentioned that Roskie was built in the "pod" form or whatever as like a social experiment to form little communities... did it work?!
