MSU crew in fall 2013

Having visited MSU and being 90 percent sure that I'll be going there (only other option is Carroll college, and I seriously prefer bozeman) Langford is easily the nicest dorm, just got renovated.

How are the Philosophy and Math departments at MSU? I'm considering transferring out of Fort Lewis because the Philosophy department is lackluster.
 
Not to sound like an ass, but what are you trying to do with a philosophy degree? Or are you double majoring philosophy and math?
 
Math department is good, mainly because the whole school focuses pretty much on engineering and like puts everything towards it. Dont know much about the phlosophy though.
 
Studying philosophy not because I want to study it. I couldn't care less about getting a job or what not. I'm also majoring in math because I want to teach High School math and study logic.
 
Word, I wish college wasn't expensive as fuck and i could justify studying things like philosophy just for the enrichment.

as long as i can get a decent amount of financial aid, i most likely will be coming within the next two years.

question for the masses: how long does it take to be able to declare residency in montana?
 
You will probably get some sort of financial aid, they give it out pretty easily.

As for your residency, it takes a year and you can only go to school part time (6 credits) each semester for a full year, get a montana drivers license, register to vote, and all that wonderful stuff and then you are a resident yayyy!!

And why not come next semester? You will not regret it.

because with three incredible ski areas and a decent drinking/drug culture amongst people in our age group, there are quite a few distractions. a lot of people don't do well being away from home and lack self discipline and succumb to that. And then a lot of kids get forced to transfer or realize it isn't the right place for them. If you're looking for more of a college bro guy experience, its not the place for you. people always compare it to CU boulder and they're both so vastly different concerning the type of people that go there and a lot of people don't know that. I'll admit, I definitely answered the call of the mtns and dropped out after a year and a half to work at big sky. Luckily I'm in love with the town and adore everything about Montana so I really doubt I'm leaving anytime soon, even without MSU.
 
Anybody looking for a dorm mate hit me up. My 2 favorite movies are 8 mile and Braveheart so you know i'm just a super down to earth guy... not really sure what dorm i want to stay at but i know that i want to find a chill room mate for sure, so i'm not stuck with that weird kid that spanks it all day. anyways hmu if you want to share a dorm.
 
your going to run into that stuff one time or another. Its so great when I walk into my stair way and its dank as fuck reeking of burnt herb. It creates such a mellow and open environment. My RA is chill as fuck and has even bought me beer and even dropped me and some of my friends off at a party. Thats how college should be. When your RA is a dickhead it just makes the expereince so much worse. The whole building I live in is like one massive family that smokes eachother out and brings in the kegs for building raggers. Just saying you will probably run into people smoking and getting the good dorms is the tits so dont let the smoking turn you away totally your choice though man.

or live in the fucking honors quads. all them bitches squares

but really, stay the fuck out of roskie, north or south hedges. the hi-rise dorms are notorious for jah blazin de sheeit
 
Didn't read all the posts in this thread.. but I applied for housing like 6 weeks ago, coming from WA with my friend we applied for Roskie and Freshman Apt's as our 2nd choice. We like to smoke weed.. a lot. Trying to meet as many people as possible. Anyone doing orientation August 21st-23rd?
 
also finding it highly ironic that you don't smoke yet your icon is a righteous jah lion. wtf?
