MSU crew in fall 2013

Its getting to be that time of year. Time to sum up the plethora of Montana state university threads! So who is actually going?

I am likely going as an Architecture major but want to get to know some people before I travel to Montana from Maine. It would be nice to know some freshman before I arrived, or possibly even find a room mate! Seems like a good place to find a fellow skier who has similar interests. Following the inspiration of Steezy_P, I am asking everyone to collaborate their MSU plans in this thread, as a way to meet people, make friends, and discuss the upcoming fall.

It seems to me that there are enough potential MSU Bozeman freshmen on here that it should warrant its own thread, as the one in regional forums doesn't see enough traffic.

As far as I go, I live in Maine and got accepted to the college of art and Architecture. I visited the school 2 summers ago and liked the vibe. I got a scholarship for being an out of state student based on SAT scores as im sure many potential freshman did, and am leaning strongly towards Bozeman over some of my other schools.

What did you get on the SAT? I am out of state and definitely interested in going but the only way possible is with a scholarship

i got over 2000 but they give scholarships of increasing amounts all the way up from around a 1600 i believe. not sure. I would check the website for sure though! they are very generous with SAT scholarship money.

Yaaaay!

I'll more than likely be going to Bozeman.. I'll know whether or not here in the next couple weeks!

ay!! i got accepted to the ARCH school too! still need to visit the school to make sure its where i want to go, but the school looks sick

im going=) probably gonna try to major in something that will help me get into nursing. or ima go the geology path. and I applied for Rosky and The Hedges with my homie

Roskie*

only apply to roskie if you like to smoke weed ...a lot. the elevators and like all the floors smell dank all the time. if you dont like weed the hedges are just as shitty room wise but same social aspect

For you architecture people be ready to get on average 1 to 2 hours of sleep a night, one of my buddies is an arch major and hes always up doing shit

ive heard ARCH majors have a lot of work.. kind of why im applying to western state school rather than prestigious east coast school... i figure even at MSU the program is going to be plenty for me, let alone if i went to cornell... and i would much rather we living in montana than newyork. Maybe im picking my school for the wrong reason...

i'm a sophomore..it's been said but roskie is the place to be. hit me up if ya have any specific questions

Dude im from PA and i was debating the same thing you are, maybe not as high as cornell cause im not that smart but seriously it was the best decision ive ever made, was to go to montana.

also word of wisdom, if you want to ski any park in montana DO NOT get a bridger pass, grow a pair and get a big sky pass you wont regret it

just graduated with a bs in mech e from msu a couple weeks ago. i feel like i know almost any question about msu as i spent the last five and a half years there. feel free to pm me with any questions. Lived in south freshman year but was all over campus due to hangin with friends

thats what I was hoping to hear. I think im going to like it out there. Coming from maine, i fell in love with montana, and it is the perfect place to do everything i love. Hike, run, ski, rock climb, slackline, whitewater, etc. plus they have my major..

Maybe. Probably not. Probably staying in bellingham and going to western. Too hard to leave this place

so im sensing that most freshman are applying to get into roskie. nobody looking at the hedges or honors program housing? anyone else looking at doing the honors program?

I've had a lot of friends say they preferred hedges over roskie and particularly north. That is also where a few of my current friends that will be going next year are going to be

i wish! its 30,000 for 4 years. so 7,500 a year. which is still helpful being out of state and makes it a much more reasonable option.

yeah dude that's what I have too, how much is it for out of state? I saw it somewhere but I cant remember what it was

Pretty sure I'm going to MSU too, got in for computer engineering but i realized I want to have a life so idk I'll change to something ... else

Not that i really mind or is a big deal, our ra is pretty chill. Dorm life kinda sucks anyway, everyone wants to move out.

90% chance i go here. already accepted. threads cause im the only one in my school going here and know literally no one out in montana haha. so those looking for a potential roommate hit me up

im just gonna say this now. whoever is gonna be looking to light up alllll the time in between and after class pm me cus im moving up from tahoe and theres gotta be homies out there.

i decided to room with someone off ns for my freshman year at msu last year. could not have turned out worse. although that was definitely an isolated incident(ie. him being fucking insane)

50% of you guys will either drop out or transfer by junior year. Welcome to Bozeman, we've almost filled our NS quota, try not to fuck it up.
