is that second picture really carroll? I don't think i've seen that, it does look like hogwarts though.
 
catholic to be exact. Oh and it will be fun. Softball weekend consists of intrmural softball where they have kegs at every base and you have to do keg stands until your teamate hits the ball. Im sure thats the norm at most colleges though.
 
i think i might just stay in Great Falls and go to the College of Technology, or become a ski patroler.
 
ya, i know that going in. Most of my buds who go there just stay on campus which is what ill proabably do.

Im coming to MSU as a freshman next week. Im going to be in Langford 146...what dorm are you in we should deff rip it up when I get out there.
 
i am in one of the dorms in Johnstone, so right next to Langford. If you like skiing shit other then park and you want to hit up big sky right before school starts let me know. I am going to be in Jackson Hole probably until tuesday. so it would be wednesday, thursday and/or friday. I am not really planning on attending the first two days of the new semester.
 
Which dorm do you guys recomend? I have to put in all my housing information soon and I am lost as to which is which, even though I have lived here all my life.
 
well heres the deal. Basically everyone that I know lives in Roskie. Roskie are the round dorms with the pie shaped rooms. I dont know anyone over in Hedges but the feeling I get is Hedges is for people that want to be on a themed floor with other people with their same major. The other option for freshmen is Mullan and Langford. Langford is all dudes, so if thats cool with you then that might be an option. Mullan is technically the "wellness" dorm but at least on my floor most of the guys drink and smoke and shit so its not really all that "well." the reason I am in Mullan is my good friend from home had some drinking issues from his parents standpoint so they felt better with him living in Mullan. So i went along with it. I am actually really happy that I am over in Mullan for several reasons.

First of its quiet. I can get my shit done when i want and sleep when i want, without a bunch of drunk kids running around. Dont get me wrong I like to drink and party, but I like to do it when i want to do it, not every single night, if that made any sense.

Also Mullan is super low key.

Whenever I go over by Roskie there are cops rolling around the area just looking for trouble. I dont think I have ever seen police by my dorm. This makes it real easy to go out and bring booze to my room and what not. I think i have had beer in my dorm pretty much everyday for the last semester and never had an issue. Granted I dont run around the floor, puking and being obnoxius either.

I hope this first hand experience helps you all out a little with your decisions. If you have any other questions let me know.

Also pretty much everyone I know in Roskie is selling weed out of their room. And for the first few months most people were smokin in their room. A bunch of kids got posession charges and that made most people stop. Roskie is just a little bit too much drama for my liking but I dont know, most of the skiers are over in Roskie.
 
ya langford is the only all male dorm. there are other all female dorms but no other all male dorms. If you like lots of drama and chill dudes go to Roskie. Plus all the hot chicks live over there and eat at the cafeteria that you would eat at. there are no hot chicks that eat at my dorm.
 
when i was a freshman i lived in roskie and loved it. i had a lot of fun there and never had a problem of it being too loud when i had to get work done. it was my experience from when i was a freshman that the best dorms were the high rises. so i would recommend living in roskie or one of the hedges.
 
i htink my bro was in hedges (all boys? and no smoking or anything?) i dunno i thin he liked it, but he doesnt part or anything. and hes a computer nerd. to me (when i visted) it was all band people that were computer nerds.
 
I'm going to Bozeman next fall as well. I really fucking love Bozeman and all the stuff it has going for it. I applied for the female Outdoor Pursuits floor in Roskie Hall. Does anyone know anything or have heard anything about it? It looked pretty sweet on the app. anyway!

And Roskie was pretty crazy when I stayed there overnight on my MSU visit. Too much drinking for me.
 
Hmm were you on a themed floor or just the whole dorm in general had a lot of drinking? What night of the week did you stay there? plz elaborate on that-- I'm gonna live in Roskie but lately I've heard from more than one source that it is pretty much out of control. Partying is awesome, but in moderation.
 
I would recommend staying in one of the calmer dorms or renting your own house (don't know if that's possible for an out of town freshman). It's a lot nicer to just go out and trash somebody else's place and leave than be living in a noisy place full of dirty people and beer cans. And there will be that one time you have to get some studying done and the person in the room next to you is having a party.
 
caf food aint bad where i am at. i eat it a lot, and actually like it. good salad bar, awesome bagels. Breakfasts are really good, made to order omeletes on sundays and saturdays usually. dinners are usually pretty good. even shit that i thought would be sketch in the dorm like fish has tasted good and not made me sick. You just need to have convidence and try various things, cuz its not as bad as you think. this is from a johnstone cafeteria perspective, good be different over at roskie or the hedges or what not.
 
Made to order omelettes?! Do you think I could live over there???

Also, can you take stuff to go from the cafeterias? Like stuff to stash in your pockets for ski lunches?
 
ya you can live here, or if you live in any other dorm and you have a meal plan you can eat at the johnstone cafeteria. heres the deal with to go food. you can take out drinks in the "provided" mug, you can take out one ice cream item, or one piece of fruit, or one bagel. They have been pretty chill with me walkin out with a thermos of coffee, a bagel, a orange and banana before skiing. however i got yelled at the other day for trying to leaved with a cup of coffee in my own stainless mug deal and a sandwhich on a bagel. I was told i cannot leave with meat and i cannot leave with a drink in a unapproved container, so i dont know. bull shit if you want to know my opinion, but i guess they have to do it that way, or people would really be abusing the system.
 
I only will approve incoming freshmen if they are fine looking females. Dudes need not apply.
 
the johnstone and hedges cafeterias are pretty much the same i think. i always ate at the hedges one and all the shit you listed was pretty much the same. i don't know i got tired of the food after a while but it wasn't so bad. but what sucks it that they close really early. as for stealing shit it was always pretty easy for me. if you just put stuff in your jacket they won't hassle you. my roommate used to steal like 5 pieces of pizza and whole loafs of bread.
 
ya i was just talking about what was legit with taking out of the dorm. But it is super easy to take food out of the cafeteria. The hours need to be till at least 8 though, because 7 is way to early. Cant tell you the amount of times that i have gotten back to the dorm at 7:15, only to have to go out and purchase dinner. By midnight i am so hungry if i eat at 6:30, it really sucks.
