MSU Bozeman fall 07

Meh, not part of admissions, just a member of the welcoming committee. If you ever need any campus tours or one-on-one discussions about campus-life, I'm here to help.

Meh the foods ok....get used to eating some form of chicken because they serve chicken like 80% of the meals. But for lunch the burger bar is pretty good and they have pizza for dinner. Its like any other campus food service same stuff thats not too bad but nothing special it just gets old.

It's pretty much either MSU or CSU, im checking out bozeman this weekend, and skiing Big Sky. There's a good chance i'm going. and for those of you that go there, WHat is the music scene like, its like my obsession along with skiing and what i wanna do but i dont want to live in the city (which kinda screws me over). any help is great, thanks.

The two things in life I am absolutely obssessed with are music and skiing, music is what i plan on doing, my buddy that i'm in a band with right now is coming out with me to check out the school, are they a lot of musicians, or bands in the area?

There's quite a few musicians, but don't expect a scene like in LA or New York. A lot of the bands around here just play cover songs, but there are quite a few really good jazz musicians.

great to hear, jazz is sweet, im into "jam" bands i guess, and lots of classic rock, and getting more into jazz, thanks.

I need to apply, damn. I retook the ACT to get a better score and so more money from MSU, and ended up with a lower score. What gives?

When I took the ACT for a second time my score went down too! I was pretty bummed about it but it was only one point, better than like 5 I guess...

Whatever- at least MSU accepts basically anyone with a beating heart and they appear to be big on financial aid too

You guys want the run down on dorms: I have lived in three.

Roskie: No question the weakest rooms, unless you go super single, but absolutely the best atmosphere for skiers. If you are a sick skier and a party machine, Roskie is your bet.

North: The bitches are in North, and the rooms are okay, weak atmosphere for party scene, kids do it but they get busted in North. Gotta drag your gear across long lots.

South: Pretty good dorm, dirty south is chill and a good atmosphpere for skiers. Close to dining hall and parking lot, both key.

All of the North East dorms are out of the question for those who like ganja, bitches/dudes, skiing or riding, and a cool area to meet more and more kids all year. The NE dorms are just too lame for me and always were, everything cool happens on the west side. No offense to the NE newschoolers but life is better out west of 11th.

^i definitly agree, i feel as if i have missed out on a part of college because of my dorm. i tried to switch at semester, but everything is so damn full, so here i am stuck in the North East quadrant of life long gamers and barely any chicks. But then again I dont spend much time in the dorm, I just sleep here, cuz i am either skiing or at school, so whatever. fuck dorms in general, cant wait to ditch this shit.

do you guys know if they just have like outdoor recreation classes, i know they have that avalanche course but what about just straight up outdoor recreation, or outdoor education.

Im on the top floor of north hedges. Whatevs. I might just keep the house I am renting right now and say fuck the dorms.

I'm just filling out my housing shit. I think I'm gonna pick one of the hedges, cause it's close to the arch. building, what's the next best place, close or not.

is anyone here looking for a roommate? i dont want to get stuck with some douche so hit me up ill go to any hall, im tryin to send my housing stuff in asap so let me know
