Moving to Denver

Looks like i might get the job transfer to denver that i asked for. How is the commute to the mountains around there. Do you need to stay over night or can you get away with day trips. I am used to driving 4 hours to mount snow and renting a condo for the season. so i know it will be easier then that. any ideas?

i would get your company to pay to relocate you as far as denver, then quite and just move to the mountains and get a job as a stripper

it is very easy, my mom drives me to the mountains now but we have a place in Vail to stay at. It takes 1:30 each way to Vail or 1:15 to Breck, Keystone, 1:00 to A- Basin. Message me and we can ski together!

if you wan to do day trips and not spend a hella long time driving and getting home late id try to live in boulder or golden or soem other place thats a bit closer to the mountains.

Half a binding, half a brain, twice the fun.

yeah, live in golden. it will make your drive to the mountains so much easier. also the commute to denver wont be bad at all. the only thing that sucks about skiing out here is the traffic on I70.

ya i was jsut looking at golden it still under 30 min to where i would work too. i am guessing there is no night life out there though. I wonder how much an apt. by a mountain is for the ski season. any ideas

i dont know but my bro is lookin for a apartment there and its really well priced for what you get

So many fucking newbs have moved to Denver in the past 10 years that it is turning into a shit hole. A big sprawled city with shit traffic. The drive to the mountains on the weekends sucks my ass i Don't car what anyone says. Traffic on I70 can get real shitty. If you can ski on weekdays that is the way to do it.

traffic going home on a sunday night isn't that much of a problem if you know how to do it right. just hang out in summit county until about 7 pm and then go home. eat dinner or go to a bar or something. beats sitting in traffic. and you can bypass most of the traffic by going over loveland pass and using the frontage road at georgetown.

no dont use the fron tage road u must earn that but the drive is not bad at all from the metro area not nearly 4:30 mybe 1:15 to wp which is blowing up

steve did make the playoffs hatters wanna hate lovers wanna love i dont even want none of the above iwanna piss on u -Rkelly my boy

Boulder is closer to the mtns than Denver i believe. driving from boulder to Vail is like 1:20ish and 1:30 to beaver creek. and copper and others are closer than that.. hey if ur workin in Denver live nearby. if u can find a happy medium do it.. but either way its not that bad..

[Once, I] got a bj in the back of my dads truck on a road trip while both parents were up front-Norred

If i live in Golden, Keystone is like 10 minutes and vail is like 1 and 1/2 hours i saw that the colorado pass is good at a bunch of places out there and you get 10 passes at vail. Is there away to buy that pass online everything i see is about buying it inperson. Also if you don't buy it son does the price go up? or does the pass go away?

i drive pretty fast and can't make it to keystone in 10 minutes. maybe if you fly. it's about an hour and 10 to keystone.

the colorado pass is the way to go for sure. Its unlimited at breck, keystone, and a-basin. you get 10 days to split between vail and beaver creek. you have to buy your first pass in person, then every year after you can renew it online. ya can buy passes at all the REIs, and a bunch of other locations in denver. the price wont go up until like september, so no hurry.

the drive isnt bad if you know when to go (early morning or late evening). good luck in denver, i go to DU, if you got any questions let me know.

I live in Golden, its an hour drive to the mountains, 20-30 minutes to downtown. Downside is there is a tiny nightlife, but boulder is also within a decent driving distance. If you are goin to rent though do it after august because that way the rent may be less pricey.

The smart man does not know everything, rather the smart man admits when he knows nothing.

what the hell are u talkin about... 10 mins to keystone?!?!? uh i live in boulder and once we pass golden it's at least 45 minutes.

but anyway, denver is closer to the mountains than boulder. and i get to winter park in 1hr 20 from boulder.

Golden is a nice place, a few friends of mine live out there. Its not to far from downtown Denver either, perhaps 20 minutes depending on traffic so if your really itching to hit the bigger bars its not really a huge issue. Then your looking at an hour to get to Keystone, 1:05-1:10 to A Basin, 1:20 to Copper, 1:30 to Vail.

sorry about that 10 minutes to keystone i must have messed up on the mapquest

man it's really easy commuting from denver. but everyone else is doing it too.....so if you want to have an easy drive up, traffic free, you gotta leave your house by like 6. then you can cruise up with no problem, have breakfast at a local shop and beat the crowd. parking in breck/vail is rediculous.

then driving home you're gonna wanna go and kick it at a bar for an hour or two. then drive down at around 7. you won't run into any traffic coming down.

as for living in golden and those places, fuck that. sounds like you're old enough to kick it in denver enjoy the bars and fuck some random hoes.

in breck you could rent a room in someones house for less than $500/mo for sure....but i wouldn't recommend doing it if you live in denver, you're so close man. hour and 1/2 tops.

ya if it's not to much farther i would most likley get a place downtown close to the bars. any idea where is good to live downtown? i know an hour and a half isn;t bad but if i take a week off of work driving everday would suck.

here is the info

In early November, 2004, the Clear Creek County Planning Commission heard plans for the

new ski area. The area planner, Doug Donovan, explained plans for a snowboard park-type

area. This would include a large superpipe, a smaller half pipe, and trail features. A new

triple chairlift would replace the existing T-bar.

what are you doing at squaw pass?

first to open is usually loveland usually around mid-october. we'll be lucky if it's that early this year. a-basin might beat them though. it's always a race to see who can open first.

yeah i live in Gennessee...just in between golden and evergreen...drive isnt that bad...if your out the door by 7 u beat the traffic...and get fresh tracks at 830....and to avoid traffic on the way back u either have to leave at like 2 or 230 or go to the bars and leave around 8...otherwise its a zoo...i ski vail and film up there...so if u ever wanna join up message me

Dude that Doug Donavan Guy is my friends uncle, rich as hell. Yea it supposed to be ONLY park, which is gonna be sick. he also plans to hire a lot of park engineers, blah blah blah, any way it's gonna be a sick park in about 3 years. gonna be sick. so if u low on cash hit that mountain

live where you ski: commute to work. You have your priorities backwards.
