Mountain Biking

Yup! Swain has lift access, but everything there is real short and sketch. I go down to Wellsboro and Denton, PA a lot because their stuff isn't too bad. I have a feeling that HV will probably jump on the DH train soon; they open their trees/ropes course this summer, so to me it seems like they are trying to branch out.

All I ever want to do is ride my bike, skiing is a close 2nd. I ride a bit of everything, xc, freeride and DH. The west end of Ottawa is easily the best place to be a rider in Ontario IMO. South march highlands, camp fortune and bromont are all dope. Plus a bunch of friends and I have been working on our spot for the last 5 years.

I ride:

If you live in Ottawa and want to get your freeride and dh on, check out our trails in Kanata.

Most of this was filmed at Huntmar in South March highlands, also in kanata

/static/images/flash_video_placeholder.pngI could post a shittone more vids, but don't want to overclog the thread... there are a lot of lines.

yep, it did - just barely. I got back in the car after hiking around for about 40 minutes and it started pouring two minutes later. Cool place though! Definitely going to go there more often!

i just went for the first time this season yesterday. Muddy, still some snow, overflowing streams, best part it was within 1 minute of my house by walking. Best part about living in VT state land everywhere

I dont think i have ever hit some jumps on my bike, but i ride lots of XC here in SE michigan, short technical climbs and short technical descents, lots of fun!!! I ride a gary fisher wahoo disc.

I'll post up my DH promo from last season later, I can't get the embed to work.
I know it's a long shot but... any east coasters heading to Massanutten for GES #1 next weekend?

Just picked up a 2010 specialized p2 for $175. It has a cool wood grain look thing and my dumbass friend sold it to me mad cheap, im not sure how much it's worth but I know I got a deal

you need to expand your experiences.... a ton. as awesome as that trail was, including the crossover wall ride, its not nearly as impressive as other stuff that was done years before that (different times). the filming... meh. just kranked catching up with the current trends.

Wow I just looked back at the date I took pictures when I sold my last bike, and it has been 5 years since I have owned/ridden a freeride/DH bike. No wonder I have been getting the itch so bad. I'm really thinking about getting back into it this summer.

yeah i know, his parents spoil him and buy him everything, so he has little to know concept of what things cost. I saw it in his garage, jokingly said ill give you $175 for it, and he agreed. i couldnt pass that deal up

I race a fair bit. Used to do a lot of freeride/dj stuff but it gets boring after a couple of years riding the same shit.

Here's my current sled:

building a few trails in my town this summer, feel free to come check it out when we're done if you live around eastside WA

i used to dh, freeride aton, still have my 05 norco aline done up to the tits. unfortunately i hit a tree face first going 35+ mph head on and almost died . ruined my alot of my cognitive brain activity, awesome sprort, but not for pussies, and it ruined my life, and i still have mad respect for it wish i could still race,

i am a huge gaper (term for it?) in the mtb world but i dont really care at all, i just like biking down mountains baked

just ride some single track xc stuff

i get stoked when i get any kind of air

i ride a connondale f5, upgraded the derailuers. i do mostly xc and that fun stuff, but i really want to try downhill because it looks wicked sick.

I like biking. And I'm way better at biking (and all endurance sports for that matter) than i will ever be at skiing. I started out as a swimmer and that got me in to triathlon in my late teens. and since then I have raced road bike, triathlon, XC mountain bike, adventure race, ultra runs, speed inline skating, XC skiing and what not, at high AM level or pro/national team level. My quiver at the moment is a Felt top XC mountain bike, an old Marin mt bike that i use for shit weather and a road bike alu super light with ultegra and fulcrum racing 1 and a time trail bike with mavic and specialized carbon wheels. for me the season is just starting. Skiing is just a hobby - this is 20 years of my live i'm 36.have a great summer out there on the rims.p.

i rode the 5 spot for 3 days and can say it is far and away the best AM bike i've ever been on. if the money isn't too huge an issue i'd totally suggest going for the turner. tbc is an awesome company, but they aren't on the same level in terms of quality and design, at least not in AM/XC stuff. the 5 spot is a dave weagle design, just an absolute beauty. i'm sure the covert is awesome, too, i'd go with the 5 spot but i really doubt you can go wrong.

we're still trying to get things cleared up with the city and we made need a larher organization to take part in it like EMBA but there will be some flowy downhill type lines and a few jump lines.the place will be in Hunts Point, i have some pics of the spot if anyone is interested il post em

although i don't race CX, i'm very jealous you got to race in the nationals. seems like one massive party... more so than other events.

was a pretty legit xc biker 4-5 years back (i am 22 now). like 1000m/3000ft vertical per hour on average (absolute world class is 1700-1800m/? ft).

i was a little bit of training away from going semi-pro. but all this doping shit midway through the 2000s kinda killed it for me.

XC is still damn fun and a great sport. see the mountains, experience them when going up/think about life when going up and just rush some adrenaline on your way down.

i now do some more fr in summer, even a bit in winter, although ski slopes are fucking steep compared to regular tracks and shit is heavy.

i have a "border" to be satisfied with my level at a sport when i enter the area of top-20 athletes in women competitions. park skiing i pretty much made that a few years back and XC biking i wouldve been 6th (in womens competition) or so in the bikerace with the biggest prize pool in europe.

why? that's a terrible goal to have, especially when you're years away from peaking physically. go get back into XC and work your balls off while you still have the chance to do so. see how good you can actually become instead of wondering and comparing yourself to women's comps. LOVE IT MOTHER FUCKER!!!
