Anyone know what the conditions are like up there right now? The only day I will be able to go is Sunday but now it's looking like it might rain, and if the conditions in Nitro are already starting to deteriorate before then, it may not be worth it.

Hey any one know is Mount snow the only park in new england with jumps right now? Im dying to hit some bigger ones. Gulch needs to open sooon ahhhh pray for cold weather.

Pete killington has one. I'm not sure of anywhere else. It's like a 20-25footer

as for the colleges umass amherst is fairly close I believe. It depends on your anticipated major. bennington college is relatively close too, but it's not a "good" school.

Thanks for the info man! Anyone attend these schools? or Keene State.I'm prob going for Management with a minor in econ or Finance with a minor in econ.

so who can hook me up with the link for the 299 higher ED pass. If i can get it tonight I'll be buying one for me and my sister. PM ME

yea im hoping the weather hold up next week.

i booked thursday and friday at Snow Lake Lodge cause it said it was gonna snow sun-wed but now its saying it might rain/ice/snow...hopefully its all snow!

2 small jumps, but some nice rails set up.

probably best in the east, but then again I havn't been anywhere else

i'll probably be hitting it a lot tomorrow, but i think i'd almost rather cruise the mountain after the overnight freshies they're predicting. The skiing has been epic after this storm, i mean they have opened so much of the mountain.

I've hit it and it's mad fun as long as the inrun is nice and fast

Gulch is such a fun park to ski right now. Also tree skiing off most of the trails near Sundance are on point. The only downside is Nitro is kinda cheeks after the rebuild. They made the take offs huge with little to no gap. There fun to play around on but they're so easy to overshoot! Gulch is by far better than it has been in years past though

i'll be there. It's gonna be so mobbed. My plan is to start skiing earlier than normal, and hit nitro before it is completely destroyed with bomb-holes as far as the eye can see. Then work my way over to gulch.

there were so many kids with saga hahaha i would be yelling at everyone....but it was fun today! wasnt too bad for the wait, and gultch stayed good most of the day, nitro got raped but it was fun, well worth the drive

Yeah I stuck to heavy metal most of the day, I left early because my friend tried to rodeo the first jump on gulch and landed right on his shoulder/neck.

that sucks! i figured i would flat three that first one and ended up like halfway down the landing is was scary, the jump was gnar

Yeah I stayed clear of that thing since the following 3 jumps were much nicer. Figured they'd need to make one of them poppy & short to fit the fourth jump in there. Really wish they would ditch the ice spine and give us the step up jump back.

I loved that step up.

On a side note I cleared the spine and it was the scariest thing ever.

And cgski were you the kid in the green and yellow pants?

really do not feel like reading this 5 page thread so sorry if this has already been answered.

will be at snow this weekend with friend

hope to be getting to carinthia but friend is more all mountain skier and it is his house.

so how have the all mountain and trees conditions been?

The jumpline in Gulch is MONEY... probably the best I've seen early season. Fucing love it. With that being said... now i can't wait for the Nitro rebuild after Inferno, because we REALLY need it. I know we need more snow for a good build, but there is just so much open space.

I really don't mean to bitch cause i love Mt Snow, but i got to get this shit out. they have so much potential to blow away a lot of their competion as far as competing for best park. I mean... mid season last year they had countless un-used rails laying around all over the place. FUCK, set all this shit up in Fool's Gold FOR A SICK RAIL GARDEN!! It's that trail that runs next to Nitro... THAT NO ONE USES!

As far as Nitro... this is their signature trail, it gets the most traffic, a 3 to 4 sick jumpline should be a given. Ater that, pack in all those tubes, rails, and boxes. You don't need 200 feet imbetween rails like in past years. And another thing, if you took a vote, i bet most people would want 2-3 jumps rather than a curved spine/hip. Do you know how much snow it took to build that thing?

Sry for the rant... i know there are a lot of things that play into it like $, manpower, snow. I just know Carinthia has the potential and space to improve dramatically and really show new england Mtns what's up.

Well in Day Franzens interview he did admit that he had quite the obsession with hips. but ya the hip in gulch is a little obnoxious. that spot should be reserved for the ill step up that is there yearly.

Nitro, gulch, prospector, mineshaft...that's it...no inferno (again...), no junkyard (which is dumb cause its the easiest thing to set up, a bunch of bonks and tubes put in...), no superpipe...really odd. Mount snow isn't really impressing me so far with their new plan...

I'd assume junkyard and lower nitro will be built for friday/this weekend. I have never seen features in Rusty Nail and Fools Gold, except maybe a little wooden rainbow. Theres nothing up in Mineshaft, and nitros pretty weak right now.

We should petition for the build of the gulch step up. I would post on C's facebook, but it looks like they removed that capability. Either that, or I'm soft.

Superpipe is such a waste in my opinion. I say that mostly because I can't ski pipe worth a lick, but if you don't have a 22' half pipe, you're not going to get any comps to entertain using your mountain as a venue unless its one you decide to hold on your own with local promotion. Over the last four years I've seen two types of people in the pipe:

1. People who know what they're doing and slay it (few & far between)

2. Kid/parents who just like to scrape the snow on the walls and probably don't see the pipe as a discriminator for choosing mount snow as the place to ski that week/weekend.

I'd rather them put those guns at the base of inferno and give a dope step over.

so who knows what the rebuild in gulch is looking like?! we scoped it out and saw some crazy shit after that shit ass hip, crooked elbow, huge fucking c box on the left side, big ass up rail, and money booters,

Anyone ride the NEW GULCH setup?

How about the BOTTOM OF NITRO? I can see it on the webcam but not sure what it is?

USUSA comp was there this weekend so the bottom of gulch was closed down for it. Top section was unchanged until you got down to the flat where the bonks were. Like you said the elevated C-box was on the left and was really nice. The crooked rail on the right with 2 options to go on (one straight on, the other straight on to just the crooked half). There were also some rail changes for the comp. and the obligatory smaller take offs on the jump line. It was very depressing to most that we couldnt have the opportunity to session the gulch jumps in spring conditions, but hey there's always march.

Nitro had a suuuper fun setup in the lower portion. After the stupid ass spine it goes:

1. Multi-tier box (left side) / Railbow box (right side)

2. flat rail to lower flat rail (left side) / (don't remember because left side was the best side)

3. Down wave rail (left) / down S-rail (right)

4. The long tall down rail that was there last season.

The base section was a series of bonks and tanks that is too difficult to describe...lots of options, lots of fun.
