MOUNT SNOW

I'll be there Ive got blue pants and a green and grey nomis hoodie probably super drunk and snowboarding.

Ill be up lapping park this weekend on saturday. Ill be in blue pants and a black and white jacket or some hoodie. Ill be filming with my brother. Im stoked to go back to the C

hey everyone. my buds and i are planning on heading up to mt snow next weekend, 3/24 to ski some soft park. how is the snow holding up your way? we're from buffalo and this 60-70 degree weather is killing us. just looking for some local first hand updates. i know it's still a ways away weather-wise, but any help would be great. thanks.

was there today. snow is dwindling. after this week of 70 degree weather you might not be skiing next weekend.

I rode Snow today, the weather sucked. Rain and fog, fun fun fun. The park is still very sick though, all features are still up and awesome, even the jumps. Deff the best park in east right now. The snow is slush, but that just makes for fun bails, right?

Bottom line: come and enjoy the sickest of park

So fun today on saint patty's. In Nitro it got rutted out and mogully. The carinthia open was cool though. The jumps were money! The speed was limited and the park crew could do more to maintain thee rails. Any who good to go back to the C!

thanks for the updates. does anyone know if they will be running the majority of their park features/lines this weekend? we're all set to head up. we're stoked.

also, we have been staying at this hotel located towards the front access road the previous years. i think it is called the mt snow lodge, or the lodge at mt snow, or something like that. i sound stupid. but does anyone know what i am talking about? it is not ski in ski out, you still have to drive from the hotel back to the parking lots near the lift/carinthia. it has a large circular room near the back that they serve breakfast in, reasonably priced. thanks for helping my brain.

Snow Lake Lodge? Think that's the 1 you're talking about. It's next to a large pond near the south access. I'm skiing here all week So this is kind of what you can expect.

Main Face - In really bad shape with an average temp this month of 52, and this week in the 70's. There's only a few trails open along with a few in North Face. Snow cover is really ugly and going to get worse. Don't know how they will make it to the w/e.

Nitro - Carinthia has the best conditions on the whole Mtn, but still has the typical running water through the trail and bare spots. They've pulled a few boxes and rails, but left all the jumps(So far, and Shrinking). Still mad fun. I'm no expert, but my prediction is it's going to be real ugly this weekend, but still lots of fun.

Gulch - Best and favorite trail on the whole Mtn with really good snow cover right now which will deteriorate. They have some new boxes and rails scattered here and there with a SICK 3 jump line at the bottom. The step-up jump is still mad fun near the top.

Inferno - Haven't been down it so someone chime in and give a heads up. I do know the jump at the bottom is prime and fun although shrinking quickly.

Prospector - Haven't been down it, but i know they've pulled a couple hits out.

UPPER Junkyard - closed. This is the trail with the cliff drop and shit although all the stall/bonk shit is open at the bottom with the down tube.

My advice for the ppl skiing this weekend. Get out there EARLY AS POSSIBLE! It's going to turn into a MESS VERY FAST.

prospector last saturday was decent. Inferno has a flat big pop on hand rail and some other lame shit. Also supposed to be cold this weekend but im not going.

They just posted on their conditions page that this sunday will be their last day of operations. Might head up to say goodbye to Snow, and more than likely, my season.

yesterday mt snows website said that carinthia might stay open for another weekend after mt snow closes. does anyone else have any information on this?

my buds and i from buffalo will be up there saturday and sunday. we will be the old guys complaining about back aches, knee problems, and talking about the original 1080 ski (which is now a coffee table in my house).

I'm planning on coming Sunday, grey Saga Anomie, Red pants, big white salomon and ski the east sticker on helmet line chronics. Come say what up, I'll be on Nitro all day.

**Update**

It is really bad right now. All the rais/boxes have been taken out of Nitro except for a couple in Lower Nitro/Titnium. They probably will be pulled out tomorrow.

All the jumps in Nitro are like 5-10 feet with dirt all over the place. They might groom it all down just to make it skiable.

Gulch is in better shape, but hard to get speed for jumps with mush, puddles, and dirt everywhere. A lot of the rails are sketchy and probably going to get pulled out soon.

It's bad, and the main face is shot.

I'm guessing they could at least get something like what they had opening weekend...it was pretty thin coverage that weekend. Hopefully that can keep some sort of kicker, but I wouldn't count on it....luckily, today was the warmest day of the week, and it should cool down slightly for the weekend, but not by much sadly.

It's not gonna blow...closing weekend never blows at Snow...something crazy always happens.

I'll be there Saturday.

Dub post but, how's killingtons park right now? If snows not that good I might go to killington if it's any better. Anyone know?

doubtful for this coming weekend but the forecast looks good for some cold temps for blowing and maybe a little natural snow the week after

"Updated at: November 2 at 2:21 pm[/i]

Good afternoon skiers and riders! We just finished up our first "Snow Plan" meeting of the season over at mountain ops and I think you're going to like to hear what we talked about. But first, in case you're wondering what Snow Plan is, it's an aptly-named gathering of folks from snowmaking, lifts, rescue, freestyle, grooming, PR and others to talk about - if nothing else - the plan for snow. It's awesome.

So here's the deal: We are looking at a window of snowmaking temps starting Sunday afternoon through at least Monday morning. We plan to fire up the fan guns on Cascade, Canyon, The Gulch, Long John and Launch Pad to put together some "conservation piles" which are expected to stick around even through the forecasted above-freezing temps of next week. You guys know how Ma Nature works, so this is the plan now but it may change so keep it here for the latest.

Bottom line is, the guns are ready and so are we. I would imagine you guys are, too. Cheers to the return of winter."

Think this means launchpad will be open next weekend???[/b]

Only if there is a consistent string of cold days in the forecast...they're not going to spread any of those snow piles unless they're sure it'll stick around.

I might be heading up there on Friday to stay with a friend at st mikes then down to m snow and back up for Saturday night
